I made this video just for fun and it will not be the intro of the series (because copyright laws). However, I have started to work on the first episode and it will be ready at some point next year.

@crosshillstudios they've been doing pretty good actually! The dice aren't always in their favor but man, their roleplay is outstanding. I've fairly rewarded them for it.

My players are only 4 sessions in, they just defeated Doru and we are having the funeral at the start of the next session, I really want to show them this but they wouldn't get it yet
same my group is running 2 seprate CoS campaigns and neither got to half of these characters yet

This is really great, as a new DM who'll soon run a CoS campaign, I'd love to show that to my players but it'd be best to wait a bit I think!
Wtf did I just witness… I have no idea what was done but damn if it wasn’t done beautifully!
So upset that all my players dropped out of Curse of Strahd while still at level 1. We got 2 sessions of talking to NPCs and "practice combat" encounters against rats and wolves etc.
I had everything set up all the way, just needed them to get the profecy read so I could plan the rest of the campaign out, even a little more than I already had for the previous 3 months.
3d printed and painted minifigures for PC's and a few story characters, enemies. Hand-customized battlemats with furniture etc. for death-house and bonegrinder. I had printed out more documents I had wrote, mostly clues, along with the couple documents in the back of the book, and color-potraits of key NPCs.
I had bought dice and dicetrays for the people to use, because I knew they didnt own any themselves, atleast to start out.
I had a customized version of the map of Barovia printed out on A2 size paper so that the players could write and draw lines/attach notes of clues on there for themselves on a pegboard I framed by hand and hung in my apartment. I had a costume (planned) to play Strahd during the dinner-with-Strahd session, which was going to be an actual fancy dinner at my place. I had planned to custom print and build the moving house for Baba Lysaga with 8 magnetic feet to use on a metal battlemap of the swamp, with hexes instead of squares.
Only thing I needed was for my players to show up once every 2 weeks so we could actually play some dnd. I mean building, painting, printing and writing all this stuff was cool too I guess...
Honestly doing all that sounds amazing. I would be absolutely thrilled to be your player. But as a forever DM i feel your pain. Hopefully you'll find a new group with which you can use everything you made
never submit; never surrender
next players you find, FORCE them through sheer willpower to have their asses in chairs on game night. you need to always make sure your players are at least a little afraid of you at all times to ensure that your undying love for them is known and your handwork isn't in vain.
i find threatening to place hot coals into their bed and set it on fire if they miss a session usually works but thats just me, find what works for you
You can always use all that hard work next time when you find a better group
I’m a fan of both D&D and MtG. And I’m exactly today years old when I finally drew a parallel between the MtG plane of Innistrad and the D&D campaign setting of Curse of Strahd. Now I can’t stop thinking about Innistrad actually being spelled like InniSTRAHD. 😂😅

I got confused at first because I thought this was based on the novel from the late 90's.
That’s funny but I would’ve traded exethanter with the abbot. If the PCs heal the lich his madness he’ll actually help the PCs but the abbot not so much.
I also thought about this but figured out that exethanter would fit better for a few reasons:
1. He is still very much a bad guy even if he decides to help the players. (Maybe he tries to persuate the PCs into taking some of the gifts)
2. Abbot appearing in the video would be a big spoiler. Especially in games where he pretends to be a good guy
3. I'm planning to use exerhanter in a bigger role in my animated series than he has in the book
Kiril is also one of the baddies i thought would fit in the video. I have both Kiril and the Abbot appear in the trailer tho and both will be in the series

There has been a lot of debate over Strahd's face. Maybe I'll change it back to the old one in the actual series.
Gravity falls would actually be perfect! Ireena and Ismark as Mabel and Dipper. Maybe Rudolph as Stan and Ezmerelda as Wendy
