I have a story about a Disney Imagineer no one will beat. Mr. McDonald was my wonderful neighbor. One day when walking my Newfoundland dog, Mr. McDonald petted him and said "Walt would have made a character from you." Those are words I cherish. Thank you Mr. McDonald. Thanks for showing some of the genius sound effects he made, brings back treasured memories.
I am 65 years old. Disney has been my life so to speak as I was born in Whittier, CA in 53. Not long after that 1955, we started going to Disneyland. The sounds of the rides and the parks have improved and the story got better every trip to a Disney park! My mom said Walt held me for a minute at Disneyland but I do not remember it, but if so I was lucky!
Thanks so much ! I've been attending since '55 .... the music in the caverns that the mine train traveled through was enchanting ! As a Cast member in the '70s , I reveled in leaving my furthest post in the empty "Magic Kingdom" in Anaheim....the subtle sounds, background music or a bear snoring in a cave gave me joy and understanding of the power of this art . Today , I play a "game" with my guests .. the challenge ? To find the full range speakers , of course ! Thank you .
It has always amazed me how seamlessly the music transitions between the different scenes on It's a Small World. While the lyrics don't fade when you transition from one scene to another but the music does.
Audio/Music is SO important to the park and resort experience. Imagine the park without any audio/music...imagine the fireworks show with just the visuals. The result is a flat experience. I remember once when Wishes started but the audio was not feeding in, and it was awful. I mean, who would imagine how flat and dead the whole experience could have been? But the audio and music is vitally important to every part and parcel of all of the parks and resorts. Thank you for posting this; it was very informative.
The sounds and themes of our unforgettable attractions are awesome to find out so much more about, with no speakers in sight.🎯📻🔈🎛🎵🎶🎢🌠 Stay safe everyone!

Does Disney make their own sound creator or do they partner with manufacturers?
