Decided to combine the preceding long battle with the boss fight this time around since they ARE connected and you do see Shin before it, plus, the long battle isn't really that long, so I figured I might as well do it this way. I decided to go with Kenshiro and English voices for the bosses, and Kiryu for the side content. Shin is still on '' *Kens rage* '' Gameplay, which in other words means Shin is still in a Warriors Based Gameplay.
While ken switched gears to *Yakuza* Gameplay.
lets say in a Warriors game, level 50 is practically Equal to level 5 in Yakuza based game.
Sooo yeah, that's why Ken won. He was playing Yakuza while Shin Kept playing a Warriors Style game like a loser

Shin of Nanto Koshu Ken is talking about the fact that Yuria has died, so Kenshiro got nothing out of his revenge, It was utterly useless.
Then it turns out that, Shin had given Yuria away for the Nanto Goshasei, Knowing he is going to die if he fights against Kenshiro, But he would save Yuria while doing it.

I believe Ken could have beat Shin the first time they fought. He was just soft and had compassion, Shin was a ruthless backstabbing narcissist.

@DSVoid Yet soon Kenshiro battles WAY more powerful emperors like Souther and Raoh. I still doubt Shin can keep up with those 2
The english dub is surprisingly good, it's a bit cheesy but still completely dramatic and over the top. Fits pretty well to fist of the north star if you ask me. Although, for some reason the the VA does the attack names in a more lighter tone than the deep tone he uses for kenshiro talking. To be fair, Kenshiro is really pissed at shin during that cutscene so that may be why
The sync of it is spot on, but still prefer the japanese dub
It might just be him yelling that makes it a lighter tone because some of the grunts get that when he gets louder.
「Loru Apollo」 I think it’s cause it’s just pretty difficult to keep that same tone if it’s not natural when you’re yelling.
Shin has no real menace in his voice, and the intent in the line reading is just off. Kens Rage has perfect VAs in my opinion.

I'm actually impressed with the dub. Some of the NPCs sound goofy but the main characters are pretty spot on and well done. No replacement for Kuroda, even if the English VA is very good.
They should choose the same cast for Yakuza English Dub
I like the English dub, granted some of the lines don't translate well into English and sound dumb when said out loud, but it's still good and doesn't make the game any less enjoyable, it actually reminds me of those dubs from the 80's and early 90's
Makes sense, since I think this anime came out in the 90s.
So here, Shin just allowed himself to be defeated by Kenshiro's technique.
The way I see, it was the technique called *Hokuto Cross Slash(北斗十字斬)* on Shin and shown in the QTE. I have seen the same one from the anime.
Yeah, this wasn’t much of a fight. The one in Kens Rage had destructible pillars and just seemed more epic. I bring up that game in comparison because it got a lot of the basics right that this much better looking one didn’t.

The English dub actually feels refreshing, it would also be fun since I tend to play each Yakuza game at least twice so I'm gonna play the first play through with the original Japanese voices and the 2nd with English voices

I only have minor gripes with the English dub. More *ATATATATATA* in English is a thumbs up though
This dub was far better then I expected. Good enough to play through both audio tracks.
I really need to find out the dub cast for this game. It's not half bad. I'm already picturing these voices for Kiryu and Nishkiyama.
I do too, but don't get your hopes up for another Yakuza dub. It was a miracle this game actually had an English cast despite the tragic Yakuza 1 dub.
I just can't see an english dub being effective for Yakuza. It works here for the most part because it isn't restricted to Japan in setting.

Oh gosh I remember that.
I see more praise than complaints tbh. This game as a whole was a huge surprise coming from sega, especially the voice acting. I never thought fist of the north star could be dubed so well!
The italian dub is pretty good. But, then again, most of our anime dubs from the 70s-80s were just brilliant. Our voice actors were renown as some of the best in the world, at the time.
The adaptations, tho, are hit or miss. Some are legendary, arguably better than the original, the epitome being Saint Seiya, that adds classical epical undertones to the language that were absent from the original yet perfectly suit the lore of the anime.
Some, on the other hand, horribly censor the originals to make them more family friendly, especially those that were adapted on major national channels to be aired in kids' shows, for example Orange Road, transfigured into something else entirely titled "It's almost magic, Johnny".

It seem Prompto's personality in Fist of North Star is just like his best friend,Noctis and other serious looking heroes of Final Fantasy.
Picking this game up tomorrow, As much as I like the English Dub I'm still attached to "Omae wa mo shindeiru". Also you should consider doing a Kiryu playthrough Leon.

The poll is only one thing that I take into account. I want to see what people think, but I also look at what already is there (as in, I concluded that it would be a little pointless to do Japanese voices if I already have a playlist of them). I'll try to do a bit of both worlds like I say in the description, where story bosses have Kenshiro but side content have Kiryu. That way you get to see both.

Either the AI is really dumb in this game or it was on easy?
It's on Extra Hard, I don't see why I would lie about that. I am on New Game+, and my level is higher than the boss, as you can see. In addition to that, it helps that I know my way around this game's combat seeing as I already played the Japanese release 7 months ago.
Never said you lied, it's just the enemy AI looks awful. They stand around and just let you kill everybody. It doesn't look challenging, which hurts the gameplay to me. I'm a big fist of the north star fan too. But this game doesn't look too good cause of that. Just my opinion

Shin is Nanto. He has no relation to Kenshiro, unless you count former best friend and fiancee stealer as a relation.
The reason you don't see anyone admitting that Shin was the second weakest of the brothers is probably because Shin wasn't one of the Hokuto brothers.
