I watched this when I was a freshman in highschool, we watched it in class. I've never seen classmates so focused on something in my life, including myself. This movie is amazing
I died laughing when i finally realized where i recognized the department head from... IT'S PROFESSOR UMBRIDGE!!!!! THE TOAD STRIKES AGIAN!!! The actor seemed to be on a roll playing two bad teachers in one year. But damn is she good at it. Kudos on her acting ability.
My heart's always raising whenever they tried to speak and the teacher did really do a great job. I'm crying and at the same time happy , the feeling that I can't explain , I felt in this movie

I loved her technique as a teacher of how she was bonding with her students and helping them deal with their differences and difficulties in life etc❤she went above and beyond! She even fought to keep all her students together junior and senior year!!!She did ALOT for them in this movie straight from the heart. This movie will always be one of my favorite classics to watch! This movie is just like my junior high school was Horace Mann Jr High growing up in L.A C.A. and I went through the same things! It was crazy! The fights etc it was crazy! I myself I also have a beautiful book 📚 on Anne Frank🌹 Freedom Writers✍️
If not for a teacher like Ms. Gruwell these kids didn't stand a chance. It's pretty obvious that the bureaucracy is too rigid and fail any child who doesn't fit into any of their boxes. My grandparents were both teachers. They always said that no child can be good at everything but every child can be good in at least one thing.

An interesting film based on real events and about the harsh reality that unfortunately many students face in educational systems with principals and teachers who use the wrong teaching methods, until a teacher decided to make a difference.
