The Royal Gorge Bridge is not "969 feet above sea level." The height of the bridge is about 960 feet above the Arkansas River (depending on water level). Being in Colorado, the elevation at the Royal Gorge Bridge is 5,965 feet above sea level. The script writer and narrator need to learn the difference between height and elevation. The same mistake is made in the description of the Trift Suspension Bridge in Switzerland.

I've driven across the Mackinac bridge, believe me, the wind blows harder than 30mph crossing it sometimes!!
I've crossed it in 40 to 45 MPH winds! They actually had escorts to lead trucks across! 40 to 45 MPH winds, & add snowing at the same time!
One lane each direction is actually steel grating, you can look down through the grating to the water below!!!

There is a big difference between "scary" and "dangerous". Other than the Pakistan and Myanmar wooden bridges, these bridges are not structurally dangerous. If the roadway suspension and concrete bridges you show were truly "dangerous", they'd either have collapsed, or been closed off, by now.

The view of the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Gulf of Mexico to the West is breathtaking on clear days, which are most of the days. The only dangerous thing about this bridge is hurricanes. You don't want to be on this bridge (or any other bridge, highway, or byway for that matter) when the wind is blowing 100+ MPH. Other than that, it is perfectly safe.

take it from a native michigander: despite the spelling, the correct pronunciation is "mackiNAW", not "mackiNACK", although don't ask me why. probably has to do with the fact that americans are generally so ignorant of other languages and cultures that we routinely mess up the pronunciation and turn the words and names originated from other languages into something completely different.

No Lake Pontchartrain causeway? 7 Mile Bridge ain't got nothin on 24 miles of open water. It's literally the longest continuous bridge over water in the world, once you get close to the middle you can't even see land on either side. At least a dozen people have died from their cars running off the bridge since 1994 and there's still a controversy because the guardrails on part of it are very low despite the obvious danger. I think the most recent one was when a guy drowned in late 2016 after his tire apparently blew out and his truck went right over the guardrail. There's video of it from the bridge's cameras and it's very chilling, especially since something like a tire blowing out can happen to anyone at any time. I've had two separate blowouts while on a busy highway and it's terrifying enough just trying to avoid hitting the other cars around you when you're fishtailing all over the place, so that happening on a bridge is my absolute worst nightmare.

I hate when "professional" narrators screw up the pronunciation of "Mackinac". Yes, it looks like it should end in a hard "c", but that's wrong. It's pronounced "Mackinaw". As for being dangerous...more people died building the bridge than have died crossing it. In it's 50+ years, only one vehicle has actually gone over the side. Thank goodness!

The bridge in Colorado is do neat! I like the way the boards pop up a little bit when car drive it and I'm walking it the spaces between the boards are a little scary for some people. The boards are what the bridge is make out of.

The Makinac Bridge is not dangerous. I live in northern Michigan, and I've made many trips over that bridge in all four seasons; the view is great, and at times you can see a few very large great lake freighters below you; really cool!

The Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado is awesome. If you ever get the chance walk over it. At one time you used to be able to drive over it. Very strange Arkansas River in Colorado.

I don't trust someone who doesn't know that "dangerous" is not the same thing as "scary". Prove they're dangerous by giving the death stats. Just one example: Capilano Suspension Bridge is safer than safe -- it gets zillions of crossings every year. Also, learn how to pronounce Capilano.

My pitbull is terrified of bridges and its a struggle getting her to walk across any type of bridge. She's also scared of storm sewer grates.
