I saw a 19 year old Glenn Hughes open for Wishbone Ash at Wharton Field House in Moline Illinois. He was with Trapeze and they were a great power trio. I'm glad he is still doing it. Kinda reminded me of John Gustafson from Quatermass. He still sounds and plays great!
This guy is ageless. One must remember he started as the front man for Finders Keepers band in the 60's and has been a power house vocalist all along...not easy folks. Not to mention that he almost killed himself with addictions. This man is severely underrated as a rock icon. Robert Plant at nearly the same age can't hold a candle to this man's vocal talents. Do yourself a favor and look up his work with Joe Bonamassa in the band called Black Country Communion...very good stuff.
Glen Hughes still has the voice and still carries the torch like a true professional. God bless him. His band did a nice job as well. Too bad his only vocal backing was the crowd? Perhaps an up and coming singer would make this line up even better? Still a valiant effort none the less. Kudos Mr. Hughes!
Can’t get enough Deep Purple… even if it’s a different incarnation of musicians… the energy is still there, which proves Glenn is far from being a geriatric old feller!! Cheers for the post mate! On a side note, it would be nice if the entire remaining original band could put their differences aside and do one last laid back tour, except Hughes could fill in for Ian Gillian on the songs he can’t/won’t play anymore because he can’t hit the high notes… like these you’ve posted as well as “Child in Time” which, sadly, Gillian refuses to sing! (It wouldn’t be a proper Deep Purple gig without “Child in Time”)
@HotPlatters, No doubt Tommy Iommi could bring these lads back together. He got back together with Ozzy for a killer Ozzfest reunion tour, and the Oz-man was just as much of a destructive and uncontrollable manic mess as ever!! Tommy has a very gentle diplomatic spirit, intelligence, and an ingrained pragmatism which makes him suitable for the job… especially since he knows, and occasionally jams with Ian and a few others!! Tommy and Brian May recently did a jam online, which I never would’ve ever expected to see, but it worked, and it looked like they were having a great time trying to integrate each other’s choice of notes, chords, and playing style… The Astrophysicist and the Lord of Dark chord structures…
“Hired hand??” Glenn Hughes played and sang on this song in the studio with David Coverdale and Deep Purple. I would hardly say that makes him a hired hand.
Congrats you make the village ID 10 T with that comment. He's an amazing singer. You obviously can't hear or think he should be lip syncing cause that's all you know.
72 years old.......and still defending the faith.....let's kneel to Mr Glenn Hughes, the voice of rock!!!
100% 🔥🔥🔥
Dang 72, I thought he was older. He must've been relatively young when he first joined purple.
The voice is and always was David Coverdale!
no thanks you go right ahead and kneel he may have something for you, you only dream of-to me just an human being like me
Super Glenn has returned to the origins with long hair and a voice always brilliant !!!

GLENN HUGHES
Nice. Exactly what I needed to hear right now
👊🏻
Glenn Hughes is the world best hard rock Master Lead Vocalist & Bass Guitarist in Europe & the world.
SUPER !!! Glenn 👍
The voice of rock period! And sporting 70's bell bottoms, got a love Glenn Hughes. And still taring down a fucking bass.
Amen. 👊🏻

Fenomenale! Ottimo anche a distanza di 50 anni.
Woah !! ............ Glenn still has it 🤘
You know it! 👊🏻
!!!
NO SINGER at this age can STILL hit the same notes they did when they we 20 YEARS OLD!
From Cannock! They didn't call him the voice for nothing!! Remember his best mate and roadie Toothy✊✊🍻🍻
Fantastic, I was a great GH fan in Deep purple Mk3. A great duet with David . I actually prefer Made in Europe to Made in Japan, good on ya Glenn
The drummer is no slouch, nicely done
nice guitar
Glenn is a human anamoly. Great hair, better voice !

Agreed. More chance of hell freezing over though!

@@RiverRat_1977 Tony is from the Black Country. All the best and wisest people come from the Black Country - like me! 😂
The closed you get to heaven ....
Better than Blackmore!
Glenns Hughes hair did a 70s revival...🤣🤣
Great, but do you all notice something in music theses days, drum kits have just shrunk to a real basic kit and I don't know why.
Could be the size of stage. Electric Ballroom is pretty small.
Like my 7 piece 78 Ludwig SS kit. It roars.
great drummers are great drummers regardless of the number of drums in the kit. Space often is a consideration
Rented back line kits. Just the basics necessary to get the job done.
i like burn song not because of richie blackmore its bcoz of glenn hughes
how in the hell does thid guys sing??
Søren Andersen on guitar
Yes, did a fabulous job. 👌🏻⚡️
He Glenn been trying to get a hold of you, drop me a few lines to let me know what's upi!i 1[26/24
Yes!
Sifting a shift he’s not a purple player 😡😡
Nothing more than a hired hand with a delusion of grandeur

@@danielevans9379 He was a hired hand in Deep Purple, nothing else, It's a shit business
Err, the 'hair'...
Ian Gillan is better
Crappy sound, I'm sorry
Siriusly this guy suck the only song he performed over the years it's a shame 😂😂😂😂😂😂
All nice and dandy, but a high pitch vocal doesn't make a singer.
Do your homework, dandy dude. He was Deep Purpleing it while you were crapping your nappies.
I'm in the generation that bought Deep Purple albums as they came out, dude.@@stephenofarrell3827
Chops? He’s got several pounds more than than most. 😀
