The days of the turbocharged race cars were legendary. The Lancia S4 had both a turbocharger and supercharger. Insane!!!
rallycross started at Lydden because of the foot and mouth crisis in 1967. Rallying was cancelled using public forests and farmland so a one off event was created...on an enclosed circuit away from cattle. An instant success, won by Vic Elford in a Porsche 911.

I now sound very much like that bloke, that bloke... a year b4 i gots to strip the thread on a dry sump plug... did my apprenticeship under... in that Loughborough Junction railway arch (and machine shop in the paddocks) i was there that weekend.

Actually Rantanen had no chance of avoiding the collision with smith on the final start. He was standing on brake when smith changed his position from middle to inside. Smith should have watched his mirrors better and it was purely his own fault. What a pity tho.
Why is everything going backwards?..Concorde, fastest passenger plane ...gone...Japan has the bullit train we have....Basically Thomas the fecking tank engine...cars now are shit in comparison to then, first they all look the same and then..OK they have half the horsepower and are a fraction faster but imagine if they were running 650bhp with modern chassis and suspension!!!.

THIS is rallycross! Lots of action (no bitchy judges), and a creative variety of cars. I would never expect a 700hp 4WD BMW today! Great video! :)
Modent RX is quite good actually, not as good as group B but wins the pussy WRC's 6-0.

Modern RX is better than rally by far. WRC has lost it's spirit. Bunch of rich kids cruising in forrest and ott tänäkk wins :D

danielsonn77 the works group b 6r4 was less than 400 bhp. they didn’t get anywhere near 600bhp without forced induction.
