Alright, so if you like horror, I just by chance was looking for some new books to read and I came across a book that was recommended by Stephen King, and I was huge into Stephen King at the time, so i said screw it, let's give it a try.
Holy crap I was not ready for how sucked in I became by what ended up being a trilogy. And it became pretty much my favorite trilogy of all time, which is saying a lot with how much I've read and how stubborn I am with "favorites".
I'll usually recommend it to folks I kkow who read, which isn't many people really honestly lol. But so far my momma and my buddy Dante have not read it, as much as I have bugged either of them haha.
Anyways, I very highly recommend The Passage by Justin Cronin. It was the first book in a long time that genuinely creeped me out, which I LOVED lol. As the series goes on it becomes less horror and more epic, but i became very invested very quickly and tore through the trilogy fairly quickly.
I know that you mentioned in this video that you dont do ebooks, but if you would like to try a copy just to check it out and see if its something you would be interested enough to buy let me know. Also it is best going into this one blind, as the description may make it seema bit tropey but it is very much original. I was sucked in within the first ten pages, but it takes some pretty drastic turns within the first 100 pages or so. Definitely was not expecting the changes of tone and setting, but anyways, I know I'm blabbing my ass off. You should definitely try out The Passage though. I would love to know what you think of it. I'm sure you have an endless list of books you want to read/recommendations, but fit this in if you can, and you wont regret it.
oh! I actually have his book The Ferryman and have that Passage trilogy on my TBR! I just didn't include it in this video because I don't have the first book yet. Definitely something I'll be reading. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'm sure it'll be in an upcoming wrapup this year. 😄 omg yes I swear sometimes the synopsis spoils stuff! or sets the wrong expectations. Usually I just like to know enough that I want to read it, then I'll read the synopsis after. I've found it tends to be a much better reading experience that way. One in particular, a psychological thriller How Can I Help You by Laura Sims.. I went in mostly blind and glad I didn't read the inside flap before because it would have taken away my own realization of what was going on. Thanks for the tip! I'll do the same "blind dive" with The Passage.
oh! duh just realized The Passage wouldn't have been on my scifi series tbr vid anyway lol but it'll be in my "miscellaneous series tbr" vid.. to be filmed.. soon. ☺

oh I love lots of Horror! some favorites..
The Honeys by Ryan La Sala, Dead Silence (scifi horror) by S.A. Barnes, Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie, From Below by Darcy Coates, Cackle by Rachel Harrison, The Mary Shelley Club by Goldy Moldavsky, Home Before Dark by Riley Sager, Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix, Head Like a Hole by Andrew Van Wey, one that is mystery/thriller/horror is Night Film by Marisha Pessl, and a short story collection called At Home with The Horrors by Sammy Scott.. oh! and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson. I read a variety of genres though.. basically everything but Contemporary and Romance.

I mostly stick to horror(king, Koontz, laymon) and true crime.. you have interest in true crime? Btw how much do you read daily?

Oh! Nice I love Dr Orion Taraban. I actually just got done listening to his chat with Brian and Chase on the Whatever Podcast. I found out there that he also had a chat with Soft White Underbelly (most recently about a month ago, he did one before that too but not sure when). Also he'll be coming out with a book soon! I'm definitely going to get it.
