That's going to get made over the weekend. Thanks. I saw the recipe in the book but didn't have any fennel seeds. Then I bought some and couldn't remember what for! I think I'll make some of your Mum's Garam Masala too, to go in the recipe.
Isn't that the worst? You buy an ingredient but forget what it was for. I've had a package of coconut flakes in my cupboard for probably 2 years and still can't remember what recipe I bought them for.
This is a lovely dish, thank you for sharing. Could you make a series for college bound teenagers to help them make easy healthy meals by themselves, would really really appreciate it, thank you in advance 🩷
Hi! Excellent dish! It looked tasty, but it was a little bit too spicy for me. It was amazing how fast it took to cook the dish! Wonderful, amazing! Thank you for a good video and recipe! ❤❤❤
I honestly thought it was gonna be chickpeas with mango or garlic pickles 😆 looks lovely. I really like the mango pickles i wonder if they would go good with this? I'll have to try it and see.
Question about mustard oil. Should I always take it to smoking point first whenever I use it ? I have a lot of recipes that specify using mustard oil and only a couple of them mention allowing the oil to smoke first.... Nice to add a different chickpea recipe to my mix, being a vegan household, we use a lot of chickpeas and I'm sure this will be a pleaser. Thank you 😁👍🙏
Mustard oil, with its pungency, lifts the flavor of a dish to a whole different level. I never used it until recently and it elevated a simple aloo-gobi or an aubergine subzi to another level! Like this chick pea recipe, these dishes being minimalist the oil used makes a big difference. Might just be worth the trip to the store.😁
Of course you _can_ make it without the mustard oil, it just might not come out the same- but that's okay, sometimes you don't have access to an ingredient, but that doesn't mean the recipe won't still be delish!
Pickle? I think this is more chickpea gravy with pickling spices. Pickles are things you preserve for a long time. Given the amount of water here, if you call this a pickle, there'll be a whole lot of people in hospital. Please be more careful
I took it to mean she used spices typically found in the pickling process. As always, heat levels can be adjusted depending on what you like or can tolerate. Chetna likes spicy, if I'm not mistaken. I don't believe she's calling it a pickle. Maybe she'll come along and explain it better.
You clearly have mis-read it or have not understood the English correctly! I have not for a second said this is pickled chickpeas 😂 this is PICKLE SPICED CHICKPEAS, which in english means chickpeas cooked with spices used in making pickles! 🤷🏽♀️
Wow this is amazing. The chick peas really do absorb all the flavours from the seeds and spices! Plus I confirmed that my smoke alarm works.
Cooking this beautiful dish with your book next to me ❤
Made this today and was so delicious ❤
Gonna try this .
enjoy
This looks absolutely delicious - immediately adding it to next week's meal plan 💕
It looks beautiful, & those chickpeas are wonderfully plump.
Wow! All Seeds. And Mustard oil. Very interesting. I will try this re5
Hope you enjoy
Definitely trying this!

Added a bit of hing to mine as it seemed approp. So good that I wish I hadn't halved the recipe.
Please show us how to make chickpea burgers 😊
Looks so delicious! Can’t we use pre-made achar mix? I did on chicken, just thinking….🤔
Is there a substitution similar to mango powder? Does it add a CD sweetness?
You can add some lemon juice
Can u pl tell the quantity of raw chick peas to be used if i want to soak overnight and make this?

Yes, let it reach the smoke point before proceeding. Let it cool a touch if you need before adding whole spices or whatever.
Do you really need the mustard oil? It’s the only thing I don’t have in my cupboard.
