I had the fortune of meeting Ms. Irene Cara a few decades ago and she was a very nice and down to earth person who shared a cautionary tale of how her record company stole her money and blackballed her from the music industry. The very song in this music video made millions of dollars and she didn't see any of it until after 10 years of legal battles after the song was released. Fortunately, she won her case. However, it caused this very talented artist to choose a different path than that of the pop star that she was becoming. R.I.P.

I was born in 1996, but grew up in the 90's surrounded by older parents, so listened to 80's music and older and also older films and comedies which shaped the person I am today, and I couldn't be more thankful for it, especially since now my parents are no long around! Reminds me of so many wonderful memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and I will never forget. Makes me smile so much! xxx
Same here, born in 92 in a small town, my brothers were 21 and 16 years old, my sister was 14. My life was wonderful, I was surrounded by the 60s, 70s, and the 80s.
Born in 2002 and I’m an old soul and even though people my age cast me out because of it these films and songs and that decade powers up my soul and keeps me pushing on.

I feel old because babies from the 90's are now having babies themselves! ...I BABYSAT some of these babies from 10 to 15 too! With my aunt and grandma's help of course.
I started going to clubs at the time that this song came out, and can remember everyone cheering and heading for the dance floor when it started to play. It's still infectious and joyous all these years later.

I remember my mother doing the same when she was young. When we were alone in the house we used to prepare plays for her and she used to perform her own scenes to make us laugh. I was born in 1966, and when this movie came out I had ran away from home. I always held on to inspirational movies, because my life was very difficult. I still love this movie.😊

La mayoría de Blockbuster hoy en día siguen usando para sus soundtracks música de los 60/70/ 80/90/(y algo de principios 00) por alguna razón.. Alguien vio alguna película que tenga un soundtrack con música de hoy? Yo nop y he visto muchísimas.
Efectivamente. Más que no se acoplen, yo digo que simplemente ya no hay talento hoy. Ya no hay Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Madonna, U2, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Metallica, Santana... Hoy todo es música repetitiva, vulgar y plana hecha al vapor como el Reguetón. No hay músicos verdaderos, guitarristas, bateristas, solistas, arreglistas... Es la decadencia total de la música.

I had the fortune of meeting Ms. Irene Cara a few decades ago and she was a very nice and down to earth person who shared a cautionary tale of how her record company stole her money and blackballed her from the music industry. The very song in this music video made millions of dollars and she didn't see any of it until after 10 years of legal battles after the song was released. Fortunately, she won her case. However, it caused this very talented artist to choose a different path than that of the pop star that she was becoming. R.I.P.

I was born in 1996, but grew up in the 90's surrounded by older parents, so listened to 80's music and older and also older films and comedies which shaped the person I am today, and I couldn't be more thankful for it, especially since now my parents are no long around! Reminds me of so many wonderful memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, and I will never forget. Makes me smile so much! xxx

I started going to clubs at the time that this song came out, and can remember everyone cheering and heading for the dance floor when it started to play. It's still infectious and joyous all these years later.

I know how much Flashdance became such a huge hit of the 80's, it defined a whole new generation of clothes, behavior, and dance moves. That's what made Flashdance so special. What a fun and romantic movie.
