Bonded by blood reigns supreme, it's by far Exodus best album, Pleasures of the Flesh is the obvious number two. I've ranked their videos too btw. It's always interesting to hear other peoples views of bands that I've listened to for decades now but I rarely agree with others. haha. Cheers!

I actually really liked the Force of Habit album! There are some super awesome songs on it - One Foot in the Grave, Count your Blessings and Good Day to Die to name but a few and in my opinion the guitar solos on this album are the best Exodus have ever done. My favorite all time album from them would probably be Tempo of the Damned. Also Impact, Force of Habit and Fabulous Disaster. Since 2014 I haven't really been following them anymore. I saw them live about 6 times I think....From 2001 to 2010. I'd have to count. Even seen them with Paul Baloff at the T.O.T.T. in San Francisco and in 2008 we were even sharing a stage which was super awesome. By the way - Gary Holt is a super nice guy you can randomly talk to. There were two instances on their gigs where he literally came up to me randomly and started chating like we knew eachother which was funny. Ow how did I get into them? Um - in 1993 I saw the Toxic Waltz video and I actually thought it was Over Kill which made my super purist enciclopedia of metal friend kind of scoff LOL. The song didn't get me right away. In february of 1994 the very night we came from the Nirvana concert in Ljubljana [it was actually their last gig, but we didn't know that], I just caught the Headbanger's ball triple thrash treat and they had Suicidal Tendencies - Send Me Your Money, Nuclear Assault's - Something Wycked aaand Exodus - Good Day to Die. I knew Suicidal, but the Nuclear and Exo were new to me and I found the songs fantastic so I bought the Nuclear album and I taped Exodus. Then I bought some compilation album that was basically a mix of their first two albums and I wasn't super impressed, then I borrowed the Impact LP and that one was awesome. Then I realized that Toxic Walts was actually an amazing song so that's kind of it. Exodus had a profound impact on me and my early path when I was playing in metal bands also they have my all time favorite rhythm guitar sound. It's just awesome! I've owned all of their albums up to Exhibit B on CD but I've sold my CD collection in the recent years :D

    11-Force of Habit 5.8/10
    10-Blood In Blood Out 7.2/10
    9-Persona No Greta 7.4/10
    8-Impact is Imminent 7.5/10
    7-Exhibit A 7.6/10
    6-Pleasures of the Flesh 7.7/10
    5-Exhibit B 8.3/10
    4-Shovel Headed Kill Machine 8.8/10
    3-Bonded By Blood 9/10
    2-Tempo of the Dammed 9.1/10
    1-Fabulous Disaster 9.2/10
TBh Exodus doesn’t have that one stand out album, they just have a bunch of solid bangers. Similar to Testament but less so.

Last night Bryce went live for 5 hours and we talked about you're collaboration videos on his channel for a while. I think the fans want more collaborations with Bryce, comparing favorites and rankings etc. I've never purchased or listened to an Exodus album, despite seeing them live once opening for Kreator. I've also never listened to Grave Digger after seeing them open for Blind Guardian three times.

The album art on "Force if Habit" was done by Ralph Steadman. If you have ever heard of the book or seen the movie "Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas", you might have seen his name around. Agree on FOB. If a thrash band was trying to be Alice In Chains basically.

Respect to your rankings Dude. I`m an old Dude now who was there at the beginning and so the 1st album was special although I never really liked Baloff`s vocals much either and they were too loud on the album although the riffs on that album were great of course. Impact is imminent turned me of Exodus for a while when it came out as I didn`t like it especially coming after the excellent Fab Disaster. Tempo of the Damned and Blood in blood out are defo among their best as well. Although I`m not a huge fan of Duke`s his 1st album had a few that I liked alot and also the Ballard of Leonard and Charles & the awesome Children of a Worthless God from Exhibit A & B are defo among the greatest tracks that they ever did do methinks ! \m/ ............. and I also didn`t like the singles from the new album and never listened to the rest but I think that I should check it all out now methinks

Really interesting list! Exodus is arguably my favorite band of all time with Gary holt being my favourite guitarist but I agree that they are not for everyone especially when it comes to the vocals and production on some of the albums. My list looks completely different to this but that's what's fun about ranking albums.
    My picks
    Tempo of the damned
    Fabulous Disaster
    Bonded by blood
    Atrocity exhibition exhibit a
    Persona non grata
    Impact is imminent
    Force of habit
    Shovel headed kill machine
    Pleasures of the flesh
    Blood in blood out
    Atrocity exhibition exhibit b

Sweet shoutout to Vektor! I found their shit last year and it blew my mind how fast and ferocious it was. I'd never heard super speedy, technical guitars tuned up to F# like that! Exodus AND Overkill are two thrash bands I haven't been able to get into either... I have to dig deeper into both perhaps.

My favorite exodus album is blood in blood out, awesome songs, great production, and probably the best drum work I've ever heard on an album. The song objection overruled is what got me into the band, my buddy and I saw the video on headbangers ball when it came out. Killer song!!! Bottom 2 albums for me are Force of habit and impact is imminent, next favorite album is tempo of the damned, I'm more of a Zetro fan

Funny. Had the same issue with Exodus. Everyone told me, that if you like Testament, Metallica or Slayer, you have to love this. But I never liked the singer on Bonded. Now a few years later my taste in Vocalists has widened. I still don't love his vocals, but I get along with them. And the songs are really good. So I will dive into the albums with Rob Dukes now

    11) Force Of Habit
    10) Persona Non Grata
    9) Impact Is Inminent
    8) Blood In, Blood Out
    7) Shovel Headed Kill Machine
    6) Pleasures Of The Flesh
    5) Fabulous Disaster
    4) Tempo Of The Damned
    3) The Atrocity Exhibition B
    2) Bonded By Blood
    1) The Atrocity Exhibition A
As you may noticed, the Rob Dukes era was my favourite and Exodus was the best Thrash band of their time with him. They acquired a Death Metal edge that made them surpass their Bay Area peers. A shame the way they fired him though. Hope he comes back.

Their best two albums are Bonded By Blood and Fabulous Disaster, both thrash metal classics. I understand we all have an opinion but objectively ranking them so low when doing an Exodus album ranking and placing most of those other albums ahead of them especially Blood In Blood Out ahead of them is almost the equivalent of ranking Metallica and putting St Anger in front of Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets. I think in time you’ll realise this

    • @Questformetal

First off, I give you great props for the Enslaved shirt, one of my all time faves. Thanks for doing this listing and seeing your view and opinions on the albums and believe you have a fair ranking. I think Exodus is one of those bands you will love or hate. It took me a while a long time ago, and Bonded by Blood was actually the first introduction to the band for me. Paul’s voice overtime grew on me, because I like the songs. Pleasures of the Flesh took a while to grow on me as well with Zetro’s voice. So here goes the rankings:
    1. Bonded by Blood
    2. Pleasures of the Flesh
    3. Tempo of the Damned (Awesome comeback for the band)
    4. Fabulous Disaster ( I think it’s great, I agree with the fact of doing without low rider, blah)
    5. Impact is Imminent (fun album for 90)
    6. Force of Habit ( it’s ok, production could be better)
    7. Shovel Headed Kill Machine (Kicks major ass with Rob Dukes)
    8. Blood In, Blood Out ( really like this album, but need to give more listens)
    9. Persona Non Grata (same as 8, some songs are kinda long)
    10. Exhibit B: The Human Condition (tried to get into this album and I may need to listen to it more as well, but just for me, it didn’t grow on me… we shall see later)
    11. The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A (Same as 10, and was actually hoping 10 would have kicked major ass than this one)
Appreciate all you do Brother! Cheers! 🍻

I got into them a couple of years ago. I was listening to a metal playlist on Spotify and Toxic Waltz and Blacklist came on and I really liked them so I listened to their discography and now they're one of my favourite thrash bands! I don't like Force of Habit and Impact Is Imminent are not good but I love the rest!

Pleasures Of The Flesh is underrated. Their two classics Bonded By Blood and Fabulous Disaster both so low here and ranked behind even an album like Blood In Blood Out?

I don't think Exodus has ever had a properly great vocalist. Rob Dukes is by far the best, but as with Steve and Paul, still sounds like a yapping dog. Also, that's Steve on Tempo of The Damned?

I like your content and usually agree but this was just awful dude; the general consensus is their Rob Dukes era was the worse. I can't believe you put bound by Blood and Impact is Imminent so low.

    Alright *cracks knuckles*, here's our take;
    11. Bonded by Blood (6/10)
Utter meh. I get that it's incredibly influential and a staple of the thrash scene, but it was too little too late. 'Tallica did Ride the Lightning and Slayer amped up the aggression with "Hell Awaits" so "Bonded..." was already behind. Damn delays.
    10. Pleasures of the Flesh (6.25/10)
I honestly don't remember any song at all. Extremely forgettable, but at least the performances aren't a drunken mess. "Parasite" and the title-track come to mind as standouts.
    9. Impact is Imminent (6.5/10)
A step in the right direction in terms of earlier Exodus, but still *very* linear. There are definitely some killer riffs on this record, especially the title track, but it really loses most of the quality after the first track.
    8. Force of Habit (6.75/10)
The fact that they went and tried something different is utterly admirable. There are some genuine grooves on this bad boy, but it does fall into mediocrity quite often as well. "Good Day to Die", "Thorn in my Side" and "Me, Myself and I" definitely stand out.
    7. The Atrocity Exhibition (7.5/10)
Quite a quality jump here. Perhaps one of their more progressive efforts, the songs tend to be quite overly long and while the riffs are incredible, it loses most of its momentum often by aimless, bloated groove sections. "Riot Act", "Funeral Hymn", the title track, and "Iconoclasm" save the album often times from the aforementioned groove tangents.
    6. Blood In, Blood Out (7.5/10)
BIBO takes the modern era of Exodus and injects some of their old-school energy. Unfortunately, I feel it's brought down by some of its meandering tracks. But the highs are very high! The title track, "Black 13", "Collateral Damage", "Body Harvest", "Numb" and "Honor Killings" definitely carry the old school energy well, but it has its fair share of boring moments.
    5. Fabulous Disaster (7.75/10)
Oddly enough, Exodus *far* surpassed their first two albums quality-wise with this record. The aggression was amped up and unruly, the experimentation is perhaps the best of their career, and the groovy moments aren't utterly boring. Very good venture with this one!
    4. Tempo of the Damned (8.25/10)
Really, this is where Exodus actually got interesting. They went from being quite a mediocre, 2nd-wave thrash band to essentially ruling the thrash revival in terms of old-school bands. "Tempo..." saw the guys ramp up the tempos and intensity, delivering some of their finest work to date. The high points are *very* high with cuts like "Scar Spangled Banner", "War is My Shepherd", "Blacklist", "Forward March" and perhaps among their heaviest number; the evil title track. On the right track, boys.
    3. Shovel Headed Kill Machine (8.75/10)
This is the moment where Exodus' second revival went into question. But instead of breaking up once again, Gary just decided to create their heaviest record. The intensity was amped up even more after "Tempo" and the band delivered "SHKM". "Raze", "Deathamphetamine", "Karma's Messenger", "Going Going Gone", "Now Thy Death Day Come", "44 Magnum *fucking* Opus", the title track! Utterly relentless from start to finish. With that, however, it is quite linear in terms of dynamic variation, but the heavy is *actually* heavy.
    2. Exhibit B (9.5/10)
Before last year, this reigned supreme as my favorite Exodus record. The heavy moments were pissed, the melodic moments were grandiose, the dynamics were possibly the best of their career. The guitar tone on here is easily the best of their career and there really isn't any arguing when you dissect it. "Ballad...", "Beyond", "Class Dismissed", "Downfall", "Burn Hollywood Burn", "The Sun is My Destroyer", "Good Riddance", the record is jam-packed with underrated staples all around. Personal bias? Perhaps, but this is Exodus at their finest hour... for now.
And get ready to be triggered...
    1. Persona Non Grata (10/10)
Who woulda thought a bunch of guys in their mid-50s could concoct such a brutal album? Behold "Persona..."; their best. The title track, "REMF", "Slipping Into Madness", "Prescribing Horror", "Beatings!!", "Years of Death and Dying", "Clickbait", "Lunatic Liar Lord", "Fires of Division" and closer "Antiseed" *all* stand out. And the performances are the vilest, pissed and angry they've perhaps ever sounded, perhaps due in part to COVID, and having the time to produce on their own terms to create something truly memorable.
