The reason he's always called Sinbad _the sailor_ is because the person he's telling his story to is also named Sinbad - Sinbad the longshoreman.

@@adekaiwamisou my personal interpretation is that Sinbad the longshoreman is daydreaming and Sinbad the sailor is an idealized version of himself, telling him about the grand adventures he wishes he could have
The super powerful characters are always fun but I really do love the basically just a guy builds, they are usually awesome guys best at what they do but still no overt displays of magic or godlike power
Nope, just a dude with a sword, or gun, or just these hands and a whole lot of confidence
This is part of the reasons why I live rogues and fighters. There is something I love about being surrounded by characters bending reality then contrasting that with being a character who is so tough/strong/nimble that they are willing to go in with nought but grit and a weapon.

And of course, this build reminds me of my favorite lil shonen, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic. Time to reread those first 8 volumes for the 100th time! 🤩
I vaguely recall Magi being on the list (along with Goblin Slayer and a few other anime) of stuff Tulok was gonna do and then watching it made him uncomfortable? I could be wrong.

I mean yeah the first episode has nude breasts in it and they really play up the joke of Aladdin, a child, groping and diving into women’s’ cleavage, but as I understand it, it’s not nearly as blatant as Goblin Slayer or The Seven Deadly Sins. Idk, Aladdin is not my favorite character in Magi, it’s Alibaba, Sinbad and ESPECIALLY Morgiana, who I think will go down as one of the best female shonen protagonists in history.
Alternately, if you're especially allergic to odd numbers, you can put your 15 in Charisma and 14 in Dexterity, so both of them start at 16 with a +3 bonus, instead of 17 and 15 with +3 and +2 bonuses. Your Charisma bonus starts one point higher at Level 1 with no loss to your Dexterity, _and_ all your scores are nice and even!
Between the animated BANGER and Scooby Doo in Arabian Nights, this build is a childhood dream.

Alternatively Spike could always use the sidekick rules found in Tasha’s cauldron of everything I believe. If any dms read this I encourage you to give sidekicks a try even if just for a single session to test the waters.
Can we also get a Magi version? Anime Sinbad is good at everything though, but I believe in you.

I am really hoping for Zhuge Liang soon. From Dynasty Warriors, Ya Boy Kongming, and actual Chinese (slightly mythologized) history. That would be a worthy challenge of a build!

it feels like it has been one thousand and one nights since i was making my Tangle the lemur requests from Sir Tulok (btw, please?) but on this odyssey we have stumbled on the Arabic manifestation of the drive for prosperity and how to achieve it we have to embark on an epic voyage into the fantastic world that we have.
Simbad is a poor porter who hear the tales form Simbad, a rich merchant who tells the tales of his adventures that lead him to find riches on a journey that could rival the one from odysseus in seven voyages that have him Shipwrecked many times one might wonder if he is an actual good sailor or the gods straight up hate him! it is thanks to his wits that he makes out to the last adventure as a wealthy man. You can’t wait to receive a gift from your rich adventurous double, BE the one owner of such riches! the wonders of the world are for the ones brave to take them! (and cunning to outwit fate and the gods, it will not be an easy journey, but no worthy path is).

another great pro, is you are crazy mobile. Pop Longstrider and you have a walk/climb/swim speed of 50. Throw in a cunning action dash and you can go 150 feet any non-flying direction in a turn.

One build I would like to see is Rayne the lead anti-heroine protagonist of the Bloodrayne Franchise. And this is a build I'm going to do a variation of for a Curse of Strahd campaign I applied to. For stats Dexterity should be highest as Rayne is known for her superhuman speed and agility and the fact she's good with firearms/ranged weapons and her armblades which can be flavored as duel shortswords are finesse weapons that she can wield with ease and is capable of doing some of the most deadly yet beautiful acrobatic moves with them, up next is Constitution Rayne despite having a slender build is actually tough to bring down, next highest stats at 13 and 12 are Intelligence and Wisdom as Rayne is very knowledgeable about the supernatural, and she does have common sense about the missions she's sent on, Strength is next at 10 as yes she does have superhuman strength it's just not as prevalent as her superhuman speed and agility, and Charisma is her lowest stat as she's not really a people person she's more of a bluntly telling you "if you're not a enemy get out of my way so you don't die", and if you are an enemy she'll kill you in the most sadistic, brutal way possible and enjoy it type of person.
As for race she's a Variant Human with the Dhampire Lineage which means she can get an ability score increase of 2 for one ability, and a ability score increase of 1 for another one, or increase 3 ability scores by 1, she gets a walking speed of 35, and since if you want to be accurate to the character a Dhampire from the get-go she gets Ancestral Legacy which means you can keep the Variant Human stuff or choose not to go with the Variant Human stuff and pick up two skill proficiencies of your choice, she also gets some cool abilities the first is Deathless Nature basically despite being a humanoid and not undead she doesn't need to breath, then there's Spider-Walk an ability which lets her climb objects, scale walls, ceilings, and other climbable areas with a climbing speed equal to her walking speed and at level 3 can scale said climbable areas without her hands, and then there's her most iconic ability the Vampiric Bite a Natural Weapon Melee Attack whose ability to hit and deal damage is based off of the Constitution Stat not the Strength Stat and deals 1d4 Piercing Damage if it hits and has one of two abilities that activate if successfully used against opponents that aren't Undead or Constructs that is regain health via the damage + the Constitution Modifier, or gain an advantage for the next skill check, along with automatically gaining advantage with this attack at half-health, plus this attack can be used multiple times per amount of proficiency bonuses with all uses being restored after a short rest or long rest.
As for background since Rayne is a on-again-off again agent for the monster hunting organization the Brimstone Society a background that might work is the Investigator Background from Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft.
And as for class the best ones I can think of for Rayne are Monster Slayer Ranger, Monster Hunter Fighter, and Inquisitor Rouge.
I mean, if you'd like to see it, I suggest looking at your comment; that all sounds pretty good to me, although I've only ever seen the games a bit.

I know this would be an easy one...but I wonder if you or someone else could do a Garrett from the "Thief" video game series build..there is some magic in both the old trilogy and the 2014 reboot...which apparently if the lore is right, connects back to the original games but is in the future of that timeline.

I'm always happy to see more Balalaika, or Revy...I mean, they're all cool, but I'm always happy to see more of those two, specifically.
Rock would probably be the most interesting character to make, though, although mechanically implementing Balalaika's organization would be interesting.

Nothing against the Dreamworks movie, but with all the trouble you go to saying this is Sinbad based on the legends, you could just as easily be fighting 70s stop motion as early 00s CGI.

I kinda expected Ranger for natural explorer to better portray sailing.
I'm just going to make a quick guess and say that Tulok will not use Oath of the Open Sea Paladin for this build, even though it's official source material now instead of just homebrew.
