If it’s a customers car or new vehicle in general, I always take my dirty work gloves off when securing the steering wheel as not to soil the interior of the vehicle. ( customer or dealer complaints ) a lot of my tows are Accidents or prisoner tows , great video though .
@@ready4theroad71 if it’s a rear wheel drive vehicle, I do not put it in neutral and if the steering wheel locks, I still put a seatbelt through it and lock it
Ok might be towing a 2005 rWd nissan titan tomorrow night so I have to put the truck on the dolly with the back tires on the dolly?? And put it on neutral??
I need to tow a rwd car on a dolly...I've pulled a lot of trailers but never a car backwards....if the steering wheel is locked plus the seatbelt locked in through the steering wheel....is that REAL safe? Hitting a pot hole or something can't break the steering lock? Having it weighted to the back like that won't make it fishtail? I'm nervous that it won't be safe lol. I need to pull it like 300 miles.
I think you’ll be good. I never had that issue when it’s locked or tied down. When I forgot to check once it almost got bad cuz them tires turn the car will flip around
Only 1 safety chain huh ??? And the steering wheel wasnt straight . I have found a ratchet strap hooked on the brake pedal arm ran up to the wheel looped around back to the pedal is more than good. Or a looped rope around the wheel and closed in the door. But hey as long as you made your drop safe thats all that matters.
The pin the locks the wheel, isn't very big. So it's useful if the wheel locks to turn it back to accessory and it drives it deeper. But next time, GET A BUNGEECORD. Works better. And doesn't harm the seat belt if anything goes wrong.
@@derick_401 ya i got you and maybe this car shouldnt even be towed on a wheel lift! Thats how i feel about it but as you know your get what you pay for! These dealers and auctions want it cheap and fast! I never damaged a low car i towed this way im as careful as i can be! I never want to damage a customers car or mine
Thanks man. Very informative. Great tip with steering wheel. That's exa6what I was trying to figure out
The man did good job

For an automatic RWD 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, does it need to be on neutral or just in park with steering wheel locked?

How do you tow a vehicle that no tire on front wheel? Just the rotor attach to it, no wheel on it. Show us how you tow it.

That steering wheel wrap is against federal regulations

You have the angle to high on the boom
Hey thanks for the video bro ,when it’s rwd do you need to pop the drive shaft to not mess up the trans
No because it’s Rear Wheel Drive and we lifted it from the rear
So if the car was locked, you would have to throw it dollies correct?
Yes or use a lockout Kit to open car
Just me but I put all rear wheel drives on dollies and the angle was too high. You hit a pot hole and the bumper will hit the ground.
No way I haven’t had that problem. I only use dollies when I need them.
Big no no to use the seat beat as the way to secure the steering wheel, huge liability!
What if it was a awd subaru?
@@l.a.m7645 i put dollies on it! Dollies for any AWD vehicle! I have a video on dollies on my channel check it out
Not hating just saying if it were me I would dolly the front end that’s a nice car and that shit is low there isn’t much clearance at all.

The front of that car is way too low. I'm sure you scraped the hell out of it on any normal bump in the road.
Hell No! Never scratch a bumper! After I chained it down I lowered to a level that was safe for the car
You should alway attach a muscle lifter on
