Yeah!!! I really want to explore the japanese skincare products but its intimidating to buy them because it might be a make or break purchase!. :) thanks for another great tip!!
Thank you 🙏 great idea. I struggled to buy liquid body wash while in Tokyo 😂 I ended up buying body moisturiser 🤦🏻♀️ keep up the great work you are doing 👏
Congrats on the sponsor! Great informative video! Even though I am living in Japan, I am never too sure how some of these things translate into English so I am grateful for your explanation!
YAY! Oh I am so glad I could help - that happens to me too with the occasional Korean product where I'd throw out the box that had the English and left with only Korean that I cannot read... 😅
I've been to Japan a couple of times but never knew their language. And this video has been so helpful! I feel like I'm now armed with the knowledge to tackle all the beauty stores there! Haha. Thank you!
Ooo this one is really hard! haha most products don't have it clearly like western products but I will do my research and see what I can put together! x
Hello Tina ! Thank you very much for this video ! I'll be living in Japan for a year and I sure will need to know how to read Japanese skincare products. This will help a lot :)
Congrats on your first sponsored video, Tina! That's so exciting and such a big milestone, yayyy!! 😍You should add "Japanese teacher" to your resume lol. Helpful video! Makes me wanna practice Japanese more so I can be fluent 😇
Thanks that was informative, and I’d be interested in a series. I think it would have been helpful if we saw the front of the products too. And maybe highlight or draw an arrow of where the word was on the product, as a non-Japanese reader all I saw was a sea of characters, except when they were in brackets. Thus highlighting the words would have been less frustrating.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I tried to point to the words in some of the clips but I know it still wasn't very clear and wasn't specific enough 😅 I will definitely keep that in mind for the next video like this!! x
Alcohol in products will either be labeled アルコール (alcohol) or エタノール (ethanol), also remember they could be put together with other characters depending on the type but if it ends in either of the above - it is alcohol! x
I've never studied Japanese so searching for these words on the packaging is literally like these Word search games xD letters of words placed in a grid...
Hi! I will probably do a video like this one in future for 'free from' products but for the time being! : look for the words アルコールフリー(alcohol free) or ノンアルコール (non alcohol). They 'usually' label products when they are free from alcohol but you can also see if the word アルコール(alcohol)/エタノール(ethanol) is in the ingredients list! Hope that wasn't too confusing 😅
Thx. Love your videos. Especially product reviews and comparison. Like the one I watched yesterday. You tried 2 Japanese drugs store masks, Habolabo and the other one.
Thanks for this video, it was really helpful. I was wondering if you had any information on expiry dates for J-Beauty; I recently purchased the hadalabo gokyujyun premium lotion online and I have no idea where to find the expiry date.
Unfortunately most Japanese products do not have an expiry date written on them 😱 Although I am researching on this topic since a lot of people (myself included) want to know more about it and will be putting together a video on it! x
Have you actually tried out the other aminos? Like Kbeauty amino or Asian beauty amino? I believe those two aminos have more members and tons more information!
I actually have joined both of those aminos but haven't been really active on them 😅 I guess because I use a mixture of different products from different countries I don't want to have to limit myself on what products to talk/learn about!
@@TinaTanakaHarris OOOH I see, I guess you can just do what you feel comfortable with. If you have solo/single reviews which are Korean (kbeauty amino) or any asian (asian beauty amino) they would appreciate it. Also I know from both aminos. Even if you put a whole skincare routine with all mixed product, as lot the ratio is at least 50-50 or so (in favour of korean or asian product) they will accept it. Basically as long it is more relevant to their amino! Would be awesome to see your reviews in those communities as well. But if you feel restricted there is of course nothing to do about it..
Hi!! Thanks a LOT! Can you make us the same vídeo but with Make-up? And also. How do you write "dry skin" ,"oily skin" "mix skin".? Kisses from Argentina 😘 i'm not Learning japanese, but i want to buy japanese Make-up and skincare.

Thank you so much for the info. I wish I could read it but I always fail at remembering katakana. Let's not even talk about Kanji 😂

Love your videos! When reading ingredients list, I like to shop for products without alcohol! Whats the word I should look out for?

Hi, Tina. I want to avoid products that contain alcohol. How can I spot that in the ingredients? Please advise. Thanks.

Of course! I will take in all of your suggestions and form a series of these videos! Thanks for your feedback! ❤️
You should tried to stop writing in romaji and start explaining the kanjis with hiragana too ^ ^
Thanks for the tip! I just wasn't sure what level with Japanese everyone was on - thought some people may not know how to read Hiragana yet! x
