No matter how tight I get the scalp around antler burrs, even though I have hide paste around there as well, I always drive in 18-gauge wire brads through the burr skin, and into the bone, around the entire perimeter of the antler burr. They're inexpensive, and insure tight drying of the antler burr skin to the antler bone.
