Time is a song by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It is included as the fourth track on their eighth album The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) and was released as a single in the United States. Bassist Roger Waters wrote the lyrics. Keyboardist Richard Wright shares lead vocals (his last until "Wearing the Inside Out" on The Division Bell) alongside guitarist David Gilmour.
Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965. Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished by their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. There is an atomic clock in Denver Colorado and in Greenwich UK and if you have studied this phenomenon at all time moves more slowly at higher elevations and when you age time accelerates you will recognize this fact as you grow older

I bought this album when it first came out in 1973 as a 15-year-old. I'm 65 now and it still has the power to move me.

I just turned 50 and running trying to catch up with the sun everyday...because every day that I don't I'm shorter of breath and one day closer to death... you are right, time is the one thing no one can escape... we have so much of it and waste it so effortlessly when we're young and now it runs thru my fingers faster and faster each day. This used to be my alarm clock. Even my mom liked it. She was 15 in England, trapped by the war during the blitz. "Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way" I saw them at Roosevelt Stadium in 1973 in Jersey. Love this band.

Did you live in Bayonne or jc ? So nice to share the times with you you were alittle young hon but sometimes we all have to grow up fast where we once lived right n the streets were the best lesson in life

I remember listening to this song on my clock radio as a kid in the mid 70s. I didn’t comprehend the lyrics at that time, but the vibe enchanted me. Being 6-7 years old, that says a lot. I’m 54 now, and listening to this song tonight takes me back to my bedroom and that clock radio. We are all eternal souls, even though we are as vapors on the earth.
I like to think that "Softly spoken magic spells" means the tender nothings lovers and friends tell each other.
