(commenting at the beginning) I have been watching your vids on this and I gotta say, Firstly Your vibe is chill, your voice is calming and pleasant and I enjoy your commentary. I'm gonna write down some gameplay tips below if you want them. No spoilers or anything. FAIR WARNING ITS KINDA LONG . . . You can move the upgrade a relic cards into the inventory for later, the same goes for any light brown cards. When you deal enough to defeat the monster you will not take it's attack. Some monsters have a ribbon/banner on the top left, hovering over it gives info(general reminder) Relic info: (Slight rant with math)The badges that grant %rage/shield/drop are not effective. I can explain with math. 4% takes 25 slays to proc a one turn bonus, 8% takes 13 slays, 12% takes 9 slays, and meanwhile other relics will give you better effect each and every turn. The only one of them that could be useful is the shield one, which needs to be upgraded twice (4 runes) and then you need 3 of them (12 runes) Afterwards you will get a shield after every 3rd monster slay. Which is alot of work for a VERY SMALL payoff. You do you, I'm just giving some stat feedback. They need to be buffed hard. 5/10/15% is still too small. It should be 10/20/30% per slay because you still have to slay to make it work. The relic to make you explode every sixth turn for 6 damage gives REALLY GOOD HP but the randomness of the damage is never worth it. There are no relics(as far as I know) that even do anything with high hp so there is not really a point. The brambles that damage you 1 per attack are super worth it when upgraded but only get them if you have a helmet. Then upgrade the helmet first. If you can get 2 helmets then there is very little in the game that can defeat you in a single attack and (when both are maxed out) a 6hp heal each time you dip below 8hp basically makes you immortal(more reasons not to go after the shield badge or the other 2) There are multiple builds that change the game completely I will write a few. Rhino build Choose only defense and go for healing helmet, rhino horn, brambles(after helmet) as a focus Dagger build There are many increases to item(everything including bombs and boomerangs) and dagger damage, There is a rare relic that creates daggers on monster kill and the snake sword that deals damage to other monsters on item use(like daggers) Boomer luck build Only fill luck and defense equally Never increase attack. Get a boomerang and go crazy. This build is alot like the dagger build for relics but it has staying power and you don't have to rely so hard on getting a specific rare relic. Also more luck is more chests and more chests is more relics. OHKO build Remember. If you slay in one hit then you don't take damage from them attacking back. Its scary but only build attack. Ignore defense, only pick attack relics, max out your starting weapon relic. This is a really fun idea.
Ooo thanks for the kind words and all the info! I think part of the relics being underpowered is also that they have few synergies still due to 1) I haven't unlocked many new relics yet and 2) this is the demo so not everything is available yet. I have high hopes that such synergies will exist in the future, but for now yeah I think you're right. I like the different build ideas, they should be fun to try, but I don't know if I'll remember them in the moment 😅 so I'll pin this comment in case anyone is interested in the math for the demo or these game play ideas! To be honest, I often just pick what I think is fun or good in the moment and don't consider the long term strategy so this is definitely useful. Thanks again for writing it all out and for watching + commenting. Appreciate it!
I think that the tentacles on the left were actually going to do 30 damage to the boss when they die. Great gameplay, definitely good choice of running when the benefits don't outweigh the cost (multiple times)
I'm not sure about it! I didn't want to KO myself so I was too scared to try. The wording is really confusing. I might have to try it out sometime just to see - but it felt like I could maybe win this time so I didn't want to chance it, haha! Thanks for watching and the comments!

@@spitethriver No problem, thanks for the pin and I hope some of it helped.
