Please make sure to use ethanol free gas for Genny if you let her sit for more than a month as I have had carbs ruined by ethanol sitting in it.

Absolutely, I only use non-ethanol for any small engine. Chainsaws, generator, weed eater, lawnmower, powered wheelbarrow.

Hi Hanks. If you can check out dual fuel generators. Propane and gas. Pricey but worth it.Another thing to check out is a large solor charged lithium generator. Bluetti or one of the other brands would do you guys right. You can recharge it by solar or generator. Wash your truck and fifth wheel asap
Get underneath both to get dirt and especially road salt off. Road salt is bad for the undercarriage of both vehicles.
Enjoy the rough roads and potholes coming out. Hopefully you make it out before the snow flies. Love your videos and content

I have a dual fuel generator and mainly run propane to avoid the ethanol. I believe there are conversion kits for the Hondas.

FYI Because we occasionally pull across non-paved roads, we made five modifications to our camper: 1. Lifted the trailer 1.25 inches. 2. Upgraded the suspension with stabilizers and heavy-duty shackles. 3. Installed a "skid plate" under the dump valves. 4. Installed HD pneumatic castors on the rear frame. 5. Went with a size larger tire designed for rough terrain. This has made a world of difference when pulling on gravel/bumpy roads.

Oh man, I agree with the roads to and from Alaska. I averaged 14MPH in some of those spots. If I were pregnant, I'd have given birth. I am SO grateful I made it to and from without any damage to my car or RV, unlike a few people I met while in Alaska.

The Hanks are actively seeking boondocking sites, I never thouight I'd type that - I LOVE IT! I think you guys will love it too (boondocking for a night or two or five 😲). Adding Jenny was a great choice IMHO, now you can go a couple overcast days without worry, your boondocking limit is really going to be determined by water (next purchase should be a water bladder and small pump!). Y'all are proving that you don't have to spend $10K+ to be "off-grid" capable. Awesome! #THANKSHANKS

The roads in the north will KILL your truck and trailer. Taking it easy on the speed will help but makes for long driving times to get to your destination; but that's part of the fun. My bed in my trailer is super comfortable and I sleep like a baby after a long day, some fresh air and a beer with supper. The north is magical and tough. Enjoy the ride. Great video.

We drove that route in July, it seemed that the gravel section (100 miles) once past the border crossing was smoother than the previous section. It was VERY dusty though! Only issue was a few days later when I went to drain our fresh water tank and found that the plastic valve handles on the tank drain and low point drains had been sand blasted and only little nubs left, thankfully enough to open and close with pliers. Been fun following your adventures as we travelled much of the same routes. The road from Dawson to Whitehorse had some bad sections but mainly due to construction, once complete it should be much better. Safe travels!

Generally speaking major highways and secondary are paved in Canada and smooth sailing at 100-110 km/hr. Even in the snow we drive that fast unless its a blizzard or the wind has blown the snow and iced it up. They salt/calcium the roads daily if needed and plow all day in winter if needed to keep highways clear.
Summer is spent fixing any damage from winter.
Been driving in Canada 35 years you will be fine in all the provinces may-oct in an rv. The territories and Alaska routes are their own beast!

We also took the Dalton up to the Arctic Circle. On a whim, we took the Denali Highway. Now, AK uses the term "Highway" very loosely. The Denali was, pick the smaller potholes, oh, and did i say it gravel for 100 of the 120 miles? But i wouldnt trade a minute of our trip for anything!

The Top of the World highway was the highlight of our Alaska trip... The road was on the peak and often dropped off on the left and right sides giving fantastic views... But somewhat scary when you think about where you are and where the road is... We traveled the other direction and the American boarder crossing was one of the worst experiences we ever had... We figured they were board or something... My dear wife (ex now) told me to go when the signs said stop... I did stop briefly... There was no one else there or ahead of us... I now figure that it was probably the scanning area... But I didn't know that at the time... They were pissed because I didn't stop long enough...

How in the top-of-the-world can you get lost going from the Alaskan border to Dawson? I'm sure hoping you're joking. I've done that awsome and sometimes scary drive both ways. Beautiful country and really great people in Alaska and the Yukon. Definitely a place to go especially in summer when you don't have to worry about snowfall. We were there in July and there was still snow drifts melting off along the TOTW highway. Dawson to Whitehorse was a breeze compared to the TOTWH. If you want to drive on a really crappy road, take the Dempster (aka Dumpster ) Highway north of Dawson to the Arctic circle. Cheers from Alberta, Canada.

Your poor truck and GD. Also being young has its advantages for adventures such as yours. Enjoy and be safe.

Fun video, thanks for sharing your trip. It’s been 25 years since I drove up to Chicken, spent 2 days there before continuing on to Dawson City. Did you get to pan for gold while you were in Chicken? I had great success in one of the streams that runs past the mine. Roads seem to be in worse condition now compared to when I made the drive, but the ferry across the Yukon seems to be the same.

Great video, i have thought about heading to AK with my trailer for a while but other priorities right now. My main comment is this though, unless you are running high draw AC items, use your batteries and inverter. Leave the generator off. Before bed, run the generator to charge up for the night and next day's use. Your lithium batteries can take a much faster charge rate (more amps) than you are likely using to power small loads or quick large loads like a couple minutes of microwave use. If you ran the good size generator you have for everything you would be wasting gas and putting more wear and tear on your generator running to power those small items. Even "eco mode" would likely be more power than you are using most of the time.

Hi Guys look into a dual fuel generator. Wash your truck and
Fifth wheel asap. Dirt and road salt are bad for the vehicles and the finish.
