Great video! As a chess coach myself, there are some really good practical pieces of advice on here for those who are preparing for a tournament. I will be sure to share this video with my junior team in helping them prepare for nationals :-).
If you have not played over the board before i suggest playing a few games at the tournament time format at Chess club. It takes a while to be used to press a clock.
Yes, absolutely do not fully analyze your games while the tournament is still going, it's just too much information at the wrong time. The one exception would be if you feel you did a major screwup in the opening, where a quick refresh into your repertoire could be useful for later rounds
How do people get the best quality sleep between games? I'd imagine that emotions play a huge part. For example, an early loss vs an early win might give you a more restless sleep.
You do get used to tournament play over time and you learn to put the games behind you. I’d recommend totally switching away from chess to something else before bed e.g. reading and trying your best not to think about the next game
