- We're making dog coats today! In this sew-a-long I'll show you how to measure your dog, how to draft your pattern, and how to bring it all together. This is a great project for beginner sewists and helps your pup look oh-so-fashionable!

Typical Galgo measurements are as follows, in case you want to make some to send too!
Length: 26-30"
Girth: 28-32"
Width: 6-9"

I like this coat for a dog. It comes down over its butt and isnt too small for him/her. Most dog coats just cover their back. Its nice.
I just saw this. I know it was posted five years ago but I wanted to say what an excellent tutorial this is! I've sewn for over fifty years but this will be so helpful for making my new puppy a coat. Simple, easy-to-understand directions, not a lot of time, and just lovely! Thank you! Nita 🐕
Absolutely brilliant. I own 13 lurchers and make all their fleeces myself I’m not a professional either just taught myself . Will use ur video to help me make my waterproof coats with fleece sewn in . Will be first time I will try this along with the bias binding so THANKYOU for your helpful video

Thank you so much for a really informative video! I am from the UK and have rescued a few hounds of differing kinds. One of the charities I worked with has a close relationship with Galgos Del Sol. The treatment of those poor critters is shocking. I won't sully your comment section with graphic descriptions, but would encourage people to go and have a quick look-see at the website. I think a million blessings should be heaped upon you for your efforts for those poor hounds, most of whom have never been anything more than a sporting tool. Galgos (and, sadly, Podencos) are considered entirely disposable at the end of the hunting season. The fact that there are supremely beautiful people like you who are sending over bundles of love and kindness is inspiring! *_Thank you so, so, so very much!!_* You are awesome!
Thank you for posting this video ad thank you for caring for the galgos. They are the most beautiful, gentle breed. We have a new whippet galgo cross who is about the size of an Italian Greyhound. I will be using your pattern to make his fleece.

I have a black galgo that we got this april. He is super sweet and now that fall is comming he needs some worm coats! I will totally use your help, I will just add some more fibric for his long neck :P

Thank you. This tutorial was clear and easy to understand. I am going to make a raincoat for a chocolate Labrador out of an old waterproof jacket of mine using your pattern and method the only cost to me is reflective tape that I will sew on If I succeed I will send you a pic. Thanks again

What do you suggest for a dog that sheds alot for the lining?
I would used nylon or a thin quilted material. I used to have Great Danes and most not only shedded a lot, but some fur were a little on the short, courser side and when when the dogs walked, the coats without slippery linings would crawl sideways on them (if you ever used cross country skis, you’d know that the texture is “one way” to keep you from pushing back-one-way coats are like that). It bothered me more than them, but the slick insides cured that too.
This has been so enjoyable watching and I currently have several flannel and fleece on my table and chairs in my kitchen I’m so glad I found you so I can keep going back and take it step by step. Thank you for your giving heart to help so many needed pets that need warmth. Bless You 🙏🏻❤️
