I bought Meta for $106 because I failed to find any reason why it should cost so low. It dropped along with the general market drop on the news of users number drop and overinvesting into metaverse, Apple limiting information, Zuckerberg wasn't liked etc. All the bs reasons, and under general pessimism I just didn't find a single rational opinion about what actually is going on. At one point I saw P/E of 9 and thought it's just crazy, 9 P/E for a company of that size and growth is insane. I was never interested in blue chip stocks, but it was unique opportunity.
Great discussion. I’ve heard others comment on Alphabet and its spending and “country club” perks. Yet, this is the culture that on some level made Google successful in drawing talent which spurred innovation. NYCB took over the failed Signature bank which had close ties with the Trump/Kushners. Ivanka served on Signatures Board. Now, Trump allies have taken control of NYCB. Everything they touch is suspect. Mr Prabrai is a very good teacher breaking things down for the audience. I really appreciate his humility and enthusiasm for meeting the people he respects like Munger
If there is anything to learn from this video - buy when everyone is scared and narrative is apocalyptic. These guys didn’t know a thing about Facebook’s attribution methods, but they did know it was cheap and they bought. That’s the difference
Really respect Monish. But if he’s a man who understands coal, no way he truly believes Europe/USA will be driving all EVs in even 20yrs. Not enough copper in the world. The batteries are dirty to make, explosive, unreliable, a fortune to fix.
I don't see how the execution of Tesla is so much better. As you mention "in the end" if you think everyone is going to an ev, I'd argue "in the end" Tesla would have the same cost burdens that legacy automakers face such as unions and pension costs. Tesla's margins are already collapsing and it's probably understated the poor customer satisfaction Tesla is providing people who bought cars in the recent years who will never buy or consider a Tesla ever again due to the lies and false advertisements and severe value deterioration caused by price cuts.
One thing we can learn is how deep he goes in the Business......just see how he is able to tell all that data about TAV, all that data in his brain. .....just amazing. By looking at it we can learn how much to do down the rabbit hole. Loved it.
I always look forward to your videos for guidance and inspiration in navigating the world of investing. Thank you, Mohnish, for sharing your knowledge with us! Can't wait for your 100K subscribers, so on the next video: I would love to see the golden play button on your wall !!!
Guys, please continue 😢. Don’t stop! You bring out a different Mohnish here. I heard your last conversation on Meta buy it was no brainer. I believed both of you and obviously Mark who’s in his 30ish. Invested heavily and waited and waited and waited till it doubled and pulled out. But should have waited 6 more months and I would have retired. But I am here listening…. Keep it up 😇
Who is David? His video quality is as bad as a low quality mobile phone and he talks too much. Will appreciate if he can stop talking and let Mohinish do the talking especially in the beginning. I almost have no patience and skip the video.
Thanks Mohnish for sharing your knowledge. Much appreciated.

Mohnish ducked, dived, boobbed and weaved on the political question re: stable genius.
Why invite Monish to an interview and personally do an inordinate amount of talking - especially when you are on what looks like iPhone10
I bought a lot of AMR right before Monish put his whole US portfolio in it. Good feeling seeing that 13f.

It’s a lot easier to look at how much we as people don’t look at the value system
Of people.
A pulley system!!!
The video is choppy. So frustrating.
Thank you for the insightful conversation 🎉
Thank you
Mark was inspired by the mass lay offs that Elon did. Clone.

This interviewer is an unusually good looking guy. Mohnish isn't bad in that department either but this interviewer's handsomeness is striking.
Great video! Thanks Mohnish!!

Can somebody explain the Jewish couple son's joke i couldn't get it.
I'd still love to see how Mr Pabrai would do a full DD on any stock. Just seeing how he approaches this would be super cool.
