Hudson being bathed at 2 months. Then at 5 months old, despite hating being bathed... I find him in there having a good stretch! Such a big difference in just 3 months! See me rant below...Thank you to the people that can tell that I'm not a cruel owner and for your supporting comments :) I love my big silly puppy and doesn't matter what people think as long as we're happy :D
Thanks to comments like these by Vic Bonnard: "how long are you gunna leave him sitting there. he clearly doesn't like it so stop fucking with him for your enjoyment." and by and HGR693 "This dog is being stressed!!. Great if you were giving a bath, but causing him to slip around in the tub is not the best for their rapidly growing muscles. " I'd like to point out to other potential know it alls who wanna start, that Hudson got in the bath out of his own choice and can get out when he wants, I'm not forcing him to do anything he doesn't want to and if you knew anything about malamutes you'd know that you can't force them to do anything they don't want to do! This was early in the morning and he decided to go in the bathroom and into the bath himself, he'd just woke up so was stretching and using his voice which he had only just started to use... don't go accusing me of "fucking with him " for my own enjoyment and don't act like you know everything about every dog... every dog is different and people shouldn't judge a situation without knowing all the facts. Rant over.

Pro tip, a lot of the problems dogs have with baths are to do with the bathtub itself. Quite claustrophobic and they struggle to get out so often feel trapped. Try using a kiddy pool on a warm day, its considerably easier.

I'm positively surprised that "I'm taking care of my dog and bathing him" video doesen't have 40% dislikes and people yelling "This is animal abuse!!HOW DARE YOU THE DOG DOES NOT WANT TO BATHE!!"
I swear no matter what there will always be those assholes yelling animal abuse when there is nothing like that in the video.
I think I saw a video where some kennel owner made a really large german shephard pull a small sledge with a kid in it in snow and people were calling even that animal abuse...

HudsonRiverMalamutes But did he stay in there when you turned on the water?
My dear little BunnyMutt only got washed when we caught her rolling in something rotten...which, er, worked out to about once every six months or so. Decades later, dear little Tyvek got washed once when he was eight months old, and...never again (Jeez, what a struggle!). His coat (Karelian Bear Dog) was amazing. Dirt would not stick to him. He could be covered in mud from nose to tail and it would dry and flake off him within the hour.

We had a similar problem with Keerah, my Malamute. She had something again in the beginning against the vacuum cleaner when we used it, but when I toned it down at the end and started brushing her with it she began to like it. Now she expects a cleaning every time we use the thing^^

I grew up with a Malamute, he was awesome. Just have to show them you are the boss. They are like putty. They love to learn and yearn for it. I have a 1/2 malamute 1/4 huskey and 1/4 wolf now. He is 9 and he is very very timid and afraid of people. He is not vicious but he THINKS he rules. As long as you don't let them, show them consistantly that YOU are the boss they love it.They are so much fun to play with. Even at 9 he acts like a puppy. I think they act like a puppy til they can't anymore

How can People possibly think thats animal abuse? We all saw that he went out by his own, and basically was just having fun. My dog do the same on the couch, by using a lot of voice and go all crazy. Even though its not the same thing, this dog is just having fun. And you can read that this dog went in and out of the bathtub whenever he wants. And yes, every dog is different.
So I really don't see this as animal abuse at all.

Could it be he was waiting for a bath or some warm water to lie in..? We have three Basenji's, two boys and a girl. One of the boys is almost two and as he reaches his teen years he does test you. I believe all dogs test your ability to lead and stay the pack leader. Training and keeping your dog active on a regular bases is important. Very few dog breads are closer to nature or domesticated than Huskies and Basenji. Love his vocal mood Hudson.....

Same here ... the worst we can do is to ignore my darling Mal for a bit. Also Mal & Husky owners are routinely waiting near their cars for their dogs to Decide when play time is over, speaking in full sentences to their dogs, because single word commands get the Mal reaction of "What, do you think I'm a circus, or your slave or something? Ask nice" Once you get a Mal, you can never go back.

A similar thing happened to my Mum, walking down the back hall she looked into the bathroom and there was Greta my German Shepherd Dog sitting in the bath, like she was road testing it or exploring the scene of the crime [bath], funny because she used to sleep in her basket in the bathroom. Other times she liked to lie on the shower room floor with her front legs out in the hall so she could watch everything from the key point in the house.

No I wouldn't say it matters. As long as you a firm with him and never give in to him. I have been a bit too relaxed with him with some training so he doesn't always listen. Hudson isn't aggressive at all but he is fairly laid back in general. Some are more dominant than others. In the past he got too excited sometimes , I had to pin him on the ground (like another dog would) You may think it cruel but don't rely on training you would do with other dogs. Look for specific malamute training x

Aggression is taught! If you are a nice, good person who treats your malamute with respect and kindness, he or she will be the best and most upstanding member of your family. If you neglect him, don't give him Miles and Miles and Miles of running time every day, he will dig out your entire garden, probably not be a pleasant dog because he will be frustrated and unhappy. These dogs are intelligent, you need to provide them a lot of variety for stimulation

+HudsonRiverMalamutes I'm sorry that you have had so many infuriating comments. Let me start by saying that all my knowledge of Malamutes comes from watching a few youtube videos so that knowledge is very small. How ever I can clearly that your dog was really just talking and voicing himself. He was a pup at this time and as a dog owner who had a miniature poodle pup with ADHD for the first two years and who still are as vigorous at age seven as she was back then but a little easier to have contact with now than back then, I can tell that your dog was having fun that was all. It was nailed in when he very easily jumped back out the tub on his own accord.
The videos I saw was of stubborn Malamutes and it might have been the right ones to see so I didn't go flyin off the handle here 😀

  • @Christfollower8344
    @Christfollower8344 8 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm glad you love you dog as much as you do. Thank you for sharing all of the facts with us. I couldn't tell what he wanted to do or what he wanted you to do, but at 5 months, it's good to see what he wants to do, and see if that is what he should do and then do what is best to gain his love and to help him or her be as good as he or she can be without any friction. I was glad to see you back away and be patient with him, giving him some freedom to communicate with you and relieve an anxiety he may have about you doing anything that would upset him.
For some of us, learning what is best for our dogs is a learning experience. With dog food companies recalling their food because it killed dogs or made them sick and seeing dog food manufacturers basing their food choices on the mythical model of evolution, being open to the Lord and be taught by God the Holy Spirit to learn what is best for our dogs is informative and a great thing to do, because it helps us our dogs live their lives to the fullest and allows us to enjoy seeing our dogs live life more happily and appreciative of us who give them their care which makes them exceedingly happy and care they wouldn't receive otherwise without us seeking our Creator and Designer to discover this great life for us and our dogs and pets.
Originally, God didn't give us animals for food but instead gave us plants for food. With all the research for a plant based diet and the World Health Organization's recommendation against a standard American diet and for a vegan based diet, which means no dairy and no eggs and poultry, I wonder if choosing a vegan diet for our dogs would be best. Look at gorillas, hippos, rhinos, and cattle and see how strong they are. I see how ranchers and chicken farmers and fishermen have such a vested interest in us including their product into our diet and our dogs diet. With dogs having such a high rate of cancer beyond the age of 10, I am for us seeking alternative food sources and for finding the evidence to prove our choices are best for us and our pets. Thank you for sharing your puppy with us and I wish you and your malamute/husky all the best. To God Be the Glory for all that we enjoy and for all that is good in heaven and on and in the earth.

They only shed a a lot twice a year(or if female after every cycle) but just brush a little bit everyday and it should keep it down. You should expect to have hair on your clothes, i wear mostly black so it does show! But just keep on top of it and you'll be fine. You can sell dog fur or spin it in to yarn :) I haven't done this yet! My nannan has a short haired dog and he sheds a lot more than Hudson!

0:53 That exactly how my dog reacted when he did something he knew he wasnt supposed to and got cought. Like sneaking into my bed when i was gone, usually i never cought him and just saw the dent in the cussions, but sometimes he had a deep sleep and didnt hear me coming and then he kept hiding is head under the blanked or his paws howl once and stopped moving like: "Dont look at me!! I am not even here! Psssst"
I love "talking" dogs and yours sure talks alot^^

This is kind of the reason why I have cats (Well because the place I was living at the time only allowed cats too.) because Dogs are so high maintenance.
