They only act like that when they truly love you and trust you above all else. My beautiful boy died 5 years ago in my arms with that wonderful spark of mischief and loving devotion in his eyes that only a Malamute Dog can convey.
I had a Husky Shepard mix recently(she past after 14 years) and she would say hello to me when I came home. The smartest and best dog I've ever had! One day I will have another Husky or Malamute. Great video and beautiful dog!!
Every dog video on TH-cam gets cod dog psychology comments honestly, don't sweat it. For what its worth as a dog owner, I love how you are with Hudson and your rant was on point.
Pro tip, a lot of the problems dogs have with baths are to do with the bathtub itself. Quite claustrophobic and they struggle to get out so often feel trapped. Try using a kiddy pool on a warm day, its considerably easier.
I'm positively surprised that "I'm taking care of my dog and bathing him" video doesen't have 40% dislikes and people yelling "This is animal abuse!!HOW DARE YOU THE DOG DOES NOT WANT TO BATHE!!" I swear no matter what there will always be those assholes yelling animal abuse when there is nothing like that in the video. I think I saw a video where some kennel owner made a really large german shephard pull a small sledge with a kid in it in snow and people were calling even that animal abuse...
We had a similar problem with Keerah, my Malamute. She had something again in the beginning against the vacuum cleaner when we used it, but when I toned it down at the end and started brushing her with it she began to like it. Now she expects a cleaning every time we use the thing^^
I have a female mali and they are very good dogs. We got her fixed before one year old, it really calmed her down. She is so gental a kid could take her food and she would not bite.they love attention. And are much better than huskies.she is 12 years old now and 118 pounds.we have her on a diet because her hipps are getting a little weak. She is still my baby girl.
Adorable, deserves a big kiss on the nose. Maybe he wanted a bubble bath, so sweet. Thanks for the vid. Makes me miss my dog, since Im at school and she is with my mom.
My wife has a large German Shepherd who considers the empty bathtub to be his bed. He likes having the shower curtain closed...it's like his private little fort. He's also pretty talkative when he's in the mood, much like this dog.
HudsonRiverMalamutes So my retrever used to get in my shower on hot days. I fugured it was because the enamel was cold. Mabye your malumate did the same :)
HudsonRiverMalamutes But did he stay in there when you turned on the water? My dear little BunnyMutt only got washed when we caught her rolling in something rotten...which, er, worked out to about once every six months or so. Decades later, dear little Tyvek got washed once when he was eight months old, and...never again (Jeez, what a struggle!). His coat (Karelian Bear Dog) was amazing. Dirt would not stick to him. He could be covered in mud from nose to tail and it would dry and flake off him within the hour.
If people leave bad comments, they just want a reaction. Many dogs like to lie in or next to the bath because the porcelain is nice and cool when they are warm. It is obvious your dog is well loved and cared for.
I grew up with a Malamute, he was awesome. Just have to show them you are the boss. They are like putty. They love to learn and yearn for it. I have a 1/2 malamute 1/4 huskey and 1/4 wolf now. He is 9 and he is very very timid and afraid of people. He is not vicious but he THINKS he rules. As long as you don't let them, show them consistantly that YOU are the boss they love it.They are so much fun to play with. Even at 9 he acts like a puppy. I think they act like a puppy til they can't anymore
How wonderful! You are so very lucky!!! I miss my Malamute Boy VERY MUCH! He loved swimming, rain, snow bath tubs....but did not realy like the water hose squirting him. He would endure it if he knew I wanted him to tho and if the temperature was hot enough...hahaha!
Your dog is adorable and hilarious, when my dog was younger (Black Lab/German Sheperd mix) it was hell trying to keep her in the tub for bath. All I do was look away for 2 seconds and she would try to jump out, when she got older though she loved the bath I think it was relaxing for her. I had 13.5 of the best years of my life with her and I wish you and your dog many too.
God, I have an 8 week old mally and it's a nightmare bathing him! He's constantly trying to jump out and whimpers but I pause and coax him. You have a beautiful dog!
Beautiful dog, looks like he has a lot of personality and would be a delight to be around! And it sounds from your voice like you love him very much! My Labrador did something like this the other day, she took some towels and made a nest in the shower base! Then wouldn't leave! And she was doing the husky temper tantrum voice as well. I still don't know what that was all about.
Awww, pupper likes his metal & porcelain sleeping den! He sounds like a really positive pup, and I'm glad he has a Mom like you. Sending lots of ossum snugglerubs to a Hudson, if he'd like them! -2Paw.
lol he's ridiculously cute!! I'm looking to get a Malamute in the next year. I've grown up with a German Shepherd and a few huskies but I think the temperament and size of a Malamute suits me better. Great video!
He is a beautiful boy, grumpy or not. My malamute, Moose, will be a year on the 21st of May and he hates baths too. Haven't been able to bathe him in about 4 months or so. Can't even get him in the bathroom anymore! lol
How is this animal abuse? You should see me try and fight my GSD into having a bath! That looks like animal abuse, but has to be done! There would just be people saying your were a bad owner if you didn't bathe them!
Love how he talks a lot. I bet he's loving the cool feel of the dry tub, being an arctic breed. Does he hang out in there a lot? Haven't met a dog that likes a bath though.
lol found my German shepherd in the shower just sitting on the floor looking at the shower head and catching the drips from the shower in her mouth. Still got no idea what she was thinking lol
@DaveityTM Hey :) Thank you for the advice :D Don't worry we rarely bathe Hudson. He's not had a bath in weeks. Would be nice for him to get used to the experience though as he goes mental when we do. I think it is the same for most dogs that you really you shouldn't use products on them as it takes away their natural oils. But they aren't out in the rough conditions they might originally be in out in Alaska so I guess it's not that important?x
Know the feeling! Hudson will be 10 months on the 17th April. Think he's due another bath soon though! (Just watched this again and Hudson is stood watching himself intently... followed by a lovely howl hehe)
A similar thing happened to my Mum, walking down the back hall she looked into the bathroom and there was Greta my German Shepherd Dog sitting in the bath, like she was road testing it or exploring the scene of the crime [bath], funny because she used to sleep in her basket in the bathroom. Other times she liked to lie on the shower room floor with her front legs out in the hall so she could watch everything from the key point in the house.
I got a Alaskan malamute 7 years old really big and female but i can never get her to howl :C She use to do it all the time until she got stolen and then we got her back an she just became quiet.she has become more active but way more quiet :c but i still luv her
Hi, I absolutely love your dog :) your videos have convinced me to possibly get one in the future! I was just wondering, I've heard that they tend to shed quite a lot- how do you deal with that? thanks :) xx
How can People possibly think thats animal abuse? We all saw that he went out by his own, and basically was just having fun. My dog do the same on the couch, by using a lot of voice and go all crazy. Even though its not the same thing, this dog is just having fun. And you can read that this dog went in and out of the bathtub whenever he wants. And yes, every dog is different. So I really don't see this as animal abuse at all.
OMG He is beautiful! He is as cheeky as my malamute and she is girl. She also plays the silly clown in the same way! When God made Malamutes he broke the mold!
You can clearly tell by the body language of the dog that he likes goofing off in there :D Also my bathtub is normally cold as ice when it's empty and I imagine that's why he likes it there so much. And it's in a normally quiet part of the house that has no one stepping around him or over him, so it's a lovely spot for a little nap
LOL:) My Atka does not even want to go out in the rain!! Rather keep it in than go out ... we can't drag her out for a walk in the rain ... she knows when we are talking about baths in various terms ... and FOOD is the F word ... she can detect, when we talk about her, no matter how we try to hide it!! A spelling Malamute :D They definitely likes things in their own speed and on their own terms ...
I have a 7 y.o. terrier-maltese mix dog, and she sometimes gets into a tub for no reason and doesn't want to leave it, but she usually doesn't like baths... Do you maybe know why dogs do it?
Could it be he was waiting for a bath or some warm water to lie in..? We have three Basenji's, two boys and a girl. One of the boys is almost two and as he reaches his teen years he does test you. I believe all dogs test your ability to lead and stay the pack leader. Training and keeping your dog active on a regular bases is important. Very few dog breads are closer to nature or domesticated than Huskies and Basenji. Love his vocal mood Hudson.....
They only act like that when they truly love you and trust you above all else. My beautiful boy died 5 years ago in my arms with that wonderful spark of mischief and loving devotion in his eyes that only a Malamute Dog can convey.
So adorable! I love it when Mals are talking. They are so funny! Thanks for sharing!
I love how they talk so much. This vid made my day lol
I had a Husky Shepard mix recently(she past after 14 years) and she would say hello to me when I came home. The smartest and best dog I've ever had! One day I will have another Husky or Malamute. Great video and beautiful dog!!
he is a beauty!!!! absolutely gorgeous! and totally playful. LOVE it. I can't wait to adopt some Mals and Huskies of my own. :))
I have to agree :D
i like to watch this a lot. :)
Every dog video on TH-cam gets cod dog psychology comments honestly, don't sweat it. For what its worth as a dog owner, I love how you are with Hudson and your rant was on point.
Dog's like "this is my tub now, mom. Go get your own." Lmao!
He's an adorable, goofy boy! Shame on anyone who doesn't like this video after reading the description! Thanks for sharing this clip!
Pro tip, a lot of the problems dogs have with baths are to do with the bathtub itself. Quite claustrophobic and they struggle to get out so often feel trapped. Try using a kiddy pool on a warm day, its considerably easier.
This is by far my favorite video as it reminds me of my baby Malamute and her spunky personality. Thank You for your uploads.
I'm positively surprised that "I'm taking care of my dog and bathing him" video doesen't have 40% dislikes and people yelling "This is animal abuse!!HOW DARE YOU THE DOG DOES NOT WANT TO BATHE!!"

Lol I know, right?
EXACTLY!!!!
***** Excuse me but...do you speak English? Please read my comment again and think about it...
people have an attention span 1 second shorter than a goldfish, don`t be surprised...
***** Ok great,I honestly thought you were talking about me when you said that
Human: 'Oh, you're stuck in the bathtub.'
Dog:' YOU'RE stuck in the bathtub!'
What a precious baby boy! I can't wait to get another malamute, they've got such a wonderful, playful personality.
Good job! When Liza was a puppy, it took at least 2 people to give her a bath!
We had a similar problem with Keerah, my Malamute. She had something again in the beginning against the vacuum cleaner when we used it, but when I toned it down at the end and started brushing her with it she began to like it. Now she expects a cleaning every time we use the thing^^
He reminds me so much of Tonka
This is way too adorable ! Reminds me so much of my (now departed) Malamute ... I only wish we'd had a video camera when he was with us.
I have a female mali and they are very good dogs. We got her fixed before one year old, it really calmed her down. And are much better than huskies.she is 12 years old now and 118 pounds.we have her on a diet because her hipps are getting a little weak. She is still my baby girl.
made my day we have a young German Shepherd that is vocal at times thanks for sharing
What a gorgeous boy, hope you have many many happy years together xx
Adorable, deserves a big kiss on the nose. Maybe he wanted a bubble bath, so sweet. Thanks for the vid. Makes me miss my dog, since Im at school and she is with my mom.

It seems to me the dog just wants some time alone in the bathtub...
Haha you're probably right :) I did wonder what he was thinking when he got in there.
HudsonRiverMalamutes

All malamutes are

Looks like she was trying to make a comfortable bed. You need to buy her one.
"Want some breakfast?"
"Arrrooooooh (squeeeeeeeeaaak)."
"What was that?"
"Nothing no no no no no no."
Lol aw so cute XD.
"The dog is being stressed." He looks pretty mellow and happy to me. :)
Soooo cute!! My Samoyed talks like that to me when she's protesting about something. Adorable. :D
I have an Alaskan malamute also. This dog enjoys laying in the tub cuz it is a cool place.... Thanks for posting!
I love how he was genuinely having a full conversation with you =') so cute!
Nice and cool in the tub! My puppy loves to lay on the kitchen or bathroom tile!
The tub is cooler than his bed or carpet. Warm belly?
Agreed! My puppy, although he is a Teddy Bear puppy (schichon), loves the tile in the kitchen or bathroom.
Beautiful dog, thanks for sharing. They grow so fast, dont they.:). I'd love to have a Malamute or Husky, some day. They really are awesome dogs.
depending on the season, he probably finds the porcelain cool.
Awww, pupper likes his metal & porcelain sleeping den! He sounds like a really positive pup, and I'm glad he has a Mom like you. Sending lots of ossum snugglerubs to a Hudson, if he'd like them!
-2Paw.
This is one of the first dogs I saw when I got to Alaska (in the same Kennel as my dog) and they are big and beautiful. 🌸❤️🌸❤️😊
Nice dog. I'm always surprise about this dogs and tha way they "communicate" with the owners. Amazing
I love how malumutes talk to you. I had a husky mix that was very verbal, and communicated her desires very well.
He's certainly getting more vocal too! Funny creatures!
What a cheeky dude, haha, he's gorgeous
Awww he's such a cootie patootie!! I want to hug him!!
lol he's ridiculously cute!! I'm looking to get a Malamute in the next year. I've grown up with a German Shepherd and a few huskies but I think the temperament and size of a Malamute suits me better. Great video!
Very vocal dog!! He is adorable! I would have conversations with him daily!! :)
Think I miss that the most with my Malamute..having conversations!😊
My husky does this every time he wakes up. They're such amazing animals.
I can never understand how this breed is vocal. Obviously the dog is there on its own accord.
Philosophy of "Wom". Wylie introduced me into it. Wylie, Alaskan Malamute - Grumpy vocals
He is a beautiful boy, grumpy or not. My malamute, Moose, will be a year on the 21st of May and he hates baths too. Haven't been able to bathe him in about 4 months or so. Can't even get him in the bathroom anymore! lol

LOL, so adorable. He says "I want a bath now..why are't you running the water Now!"
such a handsome dog
Love how he talks a lot. I bet he's loving the cool feel of the dry tub, being an arctic breed. Does he hang out in there a lot? Haven't met a dog that likes a bath though.
What is he fussing at? Lol...he's adorable!
so cute how he answers back like saying I don't wanna get out of the tub LOL
What a beautiful dog. And so vocal too:)
He is very talkative i suppose you are having great time with him ^^
Bathtub keeps him cool :D When you're wasted it's a great place to sleep too...
Such a beautiful dog!
aww such a stress reliever! having conversation with your dog. maaan ... i miss my dog so much T__T .
actually it is good for dogs to work out things on their own.. it shows how smart they are
I just love how he's arguing with you
Dogs are either cute or beautiful. Yours is a beauty.
He has big ears and look so cute
That dog grew so fast.. But sooooo adorable
Alaskan Malamutes don't bark per se. They "talk" like this one. A great dog. Good with people.
lol found my German shepherd in the shower just sitting on the floor looking at the shower head and catching the drips from the shower in her mouth. Still got no idea what she was thinking lol
ahhh his paddies (paws) are so big as a puppy oh my goodness, I love how big puppies paws are

He's so precious, oh man. ♥
Such a silly pup! Adorable! :-)
It’s amazing, is it me, it seems as if these dogs now a days do a lot of talking back. Lol 😂
hahahahhahaha! He's hilarious! I know he's just being playful... and loving it!
He's wondering... where is my water Mom??? Put some water in here for meee!
Thank you Frank! It is a nightmare bathing him :( But I love him all the same!!

What a handsome, spoiled baby!

Lmao someone said it was animal abuse ur crazy!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
mine is the opposite, loves baths, showers, rain, the pool, but can't get her anywhere near any large body of water or a river
At least Hudson doesn't make the shrieks of terror that my Husky does when she's in the bath, she sounds like a Shiba inu in there.
OMG He is beautiful! He is as cheeky as my malamute and she is girl. She also plays the silly clown in the same way! When God made Malamutes he broke the mold!

he's like "give me space, mom, I'm having growing pains!"
lol he wanted you to get him out of the tub. cute dog!
