Quintessential shoegaze album. Definitely one of my all-time favorite albums. Highlights from this album for me are Vapour Trail, In a Different Place, Decay and Paralysed. But really the entire album is a masterpiece.
@@intothemusic908 Hey Greg - appreciate you checking my channel and yeah been on a break - work has been crazy busy. I think I’m gonna start it back up soon though. In the meantime I’ll continue to check your reactions out - enjoying them as always.
On target, boss. Ride's 'Nowhere' is my favorite album. Love it. Check out their, 'Howard Huges' it's slow but just slays. 'Drive Blind' is also great. You might also like 'Time Machine' or "Time of her time.' When the band is disappointed, their music is the best. Also check out the Weather Diaries... do a reaction to 'Home is a Feeling." Oh man. Geeked for you!
This whole album is right up there, played to it to death as a 20 yr old, I would recommend “Cool your boots” from Going blank again, the drumming is superb
The layer of fuzzy guitar that's sort of in the background, underneath everything, reminds me a bit of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Got to see Ride play in 91 or 92 with an opening band I didn't know yet called Slowdive. 30 years later they're still amongst my all time favorite.
Nice review Greg. As mentioned in the rest of the comments, Vapour Trail is a great track, Taste is one of their earlier more commercial sings but still great. My particular favourite is ‘Unfamiliar’ a really beautiful mix of the earlier fuzz-heavy work and the later more melodic pieces. Paralysed and Seagull are also favourites. Keep up the stellar work!
So many amazing Ride songs. The song on this album that really hooked me was Drive Blind. I highly recommend giving it a listen. And once again, as I have done before, I would like to recommend my favourite Ride song, Time Machine. Keep up the great band choices my good man 👍
@@intothemusic908 hey Greg. That's cool, I wasn't complaining honestly. You choose whichever song takes your fancy. Ride understood the importance of opening each album with a statement of intention, ie.. Leave Them All Behind kicking off Going Blank Again. Another strong opener with a similar epic feel is Moonlight Medicine from Carnival Of Light. I think you would enjoy that track.
This album is in my top ten of all time - but to be fair there's currently about 27 albums in that list! They blew me away from the first time I saw them live in 1989. Those first 3 EPs and this album are just so brilliant. I have a Ride track lined up for you Greg, but you should also listen to Vapour Trail.
For more Ride listens I'd recommend Like a Daydream, Taste, Vapour Trail, Seagull, Twisterella
All this . . . sound. I loved it.
Such a great song and album!

Don't forget Taste. Might be favorite from the album.
Greg, Are you still doing reactions? Seems like the last one you did was 7 months ago.

You’re looking for Grasshopper. Give it 20 seconds. The intro hook will … hook you. Cheers!
Leave them all behind is an absolute classic but there’s so many great Ride tracks for you to check out, even their newer stuffs pretty cool

Yes, you have. My apologies, David. Time Machine will be that next Ride song I react to. And I won't wait another year. Thanks. - Greg

What are the other 26? 🤔
Vapour Trail got me to buy this album after hearing it on the radio. Album more than delivered on the promise of the single.
Ride IMHO are far superior to MBV
