    I just watched your video from May 29th 2020 where the tractor got stuck. A quick way to get unstuck without digging it in deeper is to 'curl' the bucket all the way down as if your dumping dirt out of it and then place it on the ground and 'curl' it back up without raising it while reversing. The bucket will push you out almost every time. Cheers from Canada!😁🇨🇦

    Call me crazy but I cannot watch your channel enough 😂 I've been following TH-cam channels for about 3 years and just recently found you guys ❤️ I follow a lot of the big ones ie; Living Traditions homestead...And I'm going to honestly say your channel is the very first one that I am following their Blog. I wish I knew how to follow that better because I want to read from the beginning of you Blog's but don't know how 😢

    Your cover crops look great! I garden in Northern California and we time the planting and take-down of cover crops so that they end in the Spring so we don't have to irrigate them in the warm weather. Consequently, mine were cut down in April. Keep up the good work. You have some good-looking little helpers!

    I am watching your videos. I think I am in your same growing zone. I am 6a or 6b. I was particularly interested in growing garlic. I loved that video. I have so many questions I'd love to ask about books you've used and methods. And what time of year you put garlic down.

    New subscriber here... where do you buy your cover crop seed from? I have an in ground garden also and want to start implementing some of your ways of gardening. Most other channels I watch have containers, so I am ready to binge on your channel!! Thanks for the help!

    That’s a great idea to show progress of the garden over the months. It’s helpful for someone looking to grow more food. Did you test the soil to ensure it’s organic? Just wondering if that’s recommended, since we are looking for land to garden, as well as build our home on. Thanks!

    • @TheSeasonalHomestead
      @TheSeasonalHomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we sent a soil sample off to our local college agriculture extension for testing. It told us the organic levels, and if we needed to add nitrogen or any other minerals to balance out it's acidity/pH.

    Your garden looks great. I love seeing other homesteaders using mulch, cover crops and tarps. Where did you get your overalls? I just got a pair of overalls and now I’m kinda obsessed with how comfortable and functional they are.

    • @TheSeasonalHomestead

      Our winters are 6 months long typically, with the first two months being mildly cold, the middle two months generally COLD, and the last two months mildly cold and WET as it approaches spring. THanks for tuning in from Estonia!!

      100x100 ft. We are adding more though a little bit at a time this summer. The full expansion will be 200x 100 ft once we are finished. I’m hoping that will be good for a while. Some of the space we are planning to grow food to supplement livestock feed, so not all the space is for us.😉

    • @TheSeasonalHomestead
      @TheSeasonalHomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We just bought a caterpillar tunnel from farmers friend. I have yet to put it up but I think it will be worth it! It will allow for more season extension but at a lower investment cost than a greenhouse.

    • @TheSeasonalHomestead
      @TheSeasonalHomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Getting closer to self-sustaining every day. This year was the first year we did all our own meats in addition to the veggies. One small grass-fed beef cow, two heritage pigs on pasture, 75 free range meat birds, and just finished our thanksgiving turkey. It's a nice feeling.
