Such a fun piece to play! As an intermediate violinist this is a blast to play and really great for practicing technique. Perlman shows how incredible a virtuoso can make this piece sound.
Great to hear! If you are an intermediate violinist, I suggest you take 6-8 months to tackle Kreisler’s Preludium and Allegro. One you’ve have mastered that. I’d next go with Pag’s La Campenalla, followed by a few of his Caprices. At that point you can label yourself a pro Violinist and take on the VERY LONG journey of the Tchaik Violin Concerto. THAT is the most rewarding thing that’s every happened to me. When I mastered Tchaik’s Violin Concerto.
Can't get the mentality of the 70 really odd folk who thumbed down this so feeling, moving, delicate of playings...like an innocent child skipping & hopping, merrily on her way.
I have a first violin lesson this school year tomorrow. I am supposed to learn The first page and half of the second page. I only know the first page right now. Wish me luck.
Beautiful piece to listen to. Currently learning/practising it. from the 2nd page onwards it sounds like something totally different from what it should sound like lol.
I’m playing it for a solo competition, this is so freaking hard to make it sound good! I mean it sounds good when I play it, at least not bad, but the person playing it in this sounds superb!
At 3:00 his violin is going so quickly it almost sounds like he's plucking. Anyone have any tips for achieving this effect without letting the bow bounce everywhere?
I’ve minded you and I feel that you’ve greatly wasted my time. Now because of your comment, I will have taken a couple seconds longer to get to the end of the comment section. Shame on you. This will not be forgotten.
Thank you very much for sharing the amazing recording! But it would be even better if you give a credit to a violinist, who worked very hard in his/her entire life in order to make such a beautiful tone and to have this deep musical understandings. If you know, could you please write down who is playing? I believe that's the least respect we can have towards the musicians. Thank you so much:))!
don't you just love the people who brag about how well they can play violin and give there age? I might have done if I knew what comment were when was 9
I have to play this whole song in a week. Plus, other music that has complicated notes and crap like that. I am so worried because I actually lost some of my music sheets. 2 days from now, I have a practice class that gets me ready for the program and I'm supposed to bring my music sheets but I can't find them. (I'm being honest. I have not been looking for them) It sucks.

It sounds like ricochet to me. This technique requires you to do spiccato while still maintaining a downwards (or upwards) bow stroke each time.
@@MusicalInquisit thanks!
@@MusicalInquisit It's not a ricochet. It's just regular spicatto.
