Nice old school barbering. Clipper over comb, scissor over comb and straight edge clean up. Just wish we could've seen the whole haircut. Also, like the way it's styled in this video. Very classic.

FvD714 I've seen a question like his before and many people answered to keep a pomade in so that the barber knows the kind of style you're going for. I imagine a light water based is fine for the occasion with a tiny dab.
FvD714 DisturbedKoala This was supposed to be a tutorial video. We came in with two cameras and a two full setups, but I fucked up on my end. So, it's now just an 'artsy' haircut video.
Barbers vary as much as users. Some will not cut your hair if you have any product in it at all. Others won't care. I always go in with product...but always with a water-based that doesn't dry and at 1/3 the product or less. Everyone has a different definition of what 'pompadour' means, so showing them how I style my hair is much more effective than explaining it with words.

Hello james, everytime I get a haircut, the barber always doesn't cut the way I want. I am trying to get a haircut to like yours, what do you ask/say to the barber?
Just show the barber a picture of what you want. Usually works if you're not too sure of the style of the haircut
pre-style your hair too with some lightweight product. Only get a haircut from a man. not trying to be sexist, but women are trained for salons, not men's hair
