@@StefanNiggl I have to confess that the first time I came across a piece where there was singing, I passed too. 😅 But it's not your voice I specify, it's just that I'm really a fan of instrumental music. But I listened to the end the two last songs by Schumann you posted. Maybe you'll convert me! 😁
@@laurentdoleans Thanks Laurent for your honesty! I've always loved pop and rock songs, but like you, I've only listened to instrumental classical music. But then I came across the Schubert songs performed by Fischer-Dieskau. This became a wonderful experience for me and drew me into the world of Lieder.
Thank you Steven. I am glad you like these songs. Yes, that was one take and also only one mic. So I had to be careful not to sing too loud and not turn my head towards the fretboard. Recording the voice over the guitar isn't as satisfying because you have to match your singing to the accompaniment. It should be the other way around. @@StefanNiggl Interesting, thanks. Hadn't thought about the possible mic balance issues. I sometimes idly play and sing through lute songs, but I find the co-ordination pretty difficult, I have to confess!
@@StevenWatsonMusic I can imagine that the accompaniment of Downland song is much more difficult due to independend voices. This Schumann song is actually relatively simple : just beautiful chords. The tough thing is that a lot of them are barre chords
