Idk, I feel like anim_tree.get_root_motion_position() is not that complicated. I have to switch off character collisions during mantle tho, because capsule gets in the way
@@forgottenland6962 in my case it more of animation problem than root motion itself. Editing animation clip in godot resulting in undesirable root position. Import from blender in the other hand will result in missing root bone.
Wait I'm a little confused, do you use root motion or do you not use it? I'm just making sure I am understanding correctly because there is a lot of root motion stuff in your ledge/vault/climb stuff..do you use root motion or something else? Or just not for certain things?
@@jostasizzi818 Thanks for suggestion. Unfortunately, i am just a small youtube channel and i don't expect any monetary gain from this channel. No way i can afford to hire people for voice over 😆. @@Brokencircuitboard Hi! I'm currently teaching myself gamedev and was interested in making tutorials but gave up on them because video editing is hard😅. I'd be interested in doing free voice overs if you are interested in a broader collaboration. We could come up with subjects for tutorials together, split the work for the finished project, you structure and edit the video, we could then work out a rough outline of the voice over script, which I then would polish and read. Maybe we could discuss this further on discord or so?
@@GDCeli-hl5hy I don't expect someone actually interested. You are right, editing video is hard. i got lot of project i want to publish but don't have time to do so.

@@CasualRandom50 You're here for the tutorial brother. If something as minor as a robot voice makes you not want to watch something valuable that will help you make progress with your game, well, just give up on game development. It's not for you.
@CluTrading fair point but ive worked through some very hard tutorials with many bugs, it's this one thing about AI voices that ticks me off especially the TikTok ai voice it gets so annoying and over used.

3:04 it's not that root motion is bad, it just too many hassle to do it right. Maybe i'll do a root motion based climbing later 😉

get_root_motion_position() only work with root position, not rotation. My previous video about root motion did touch on this.

Thank for feedback. English is never been my strong suit 😞
I am actually fond of tutorials with an accent I think it would be great if you did a voice reveal
Cool!
Why not using root motion to move the character instead of modifying the position in a weird way?
i did explain why in this video.
will it work for 2d with some changes ?
It should.
so sorry but the robot voice made me lose interest in the tutorial
