I got the orange and black colorway in the 2011 elite as a gift from a friend to celebrate being a D1 starting CB as a freshman. You're right, they never made a better tiempo, and I still wear it when I play now lol. When the upper and lower started separating in 2014, I used some fresol (spelling?) and it has stayed together feeling like new since then. Best cleats ever.
I personally think that the best leather boot Nike has made is the tiempo 7 pro. For $130, $100 less than the elite, you got a great kanga leather upper on a lightweight boot with great touch and a great sole plate. I honestly preferred it over the elite because the flyknit tongue just wasn't that great imo
I love the tiempo Legend IV elite. I have the white and gold colorway and wear it very judiciously because I don’t want it to deteriorate much. The fit for me is perfect (this being one of the narrowest fitting Tiempos ever which I prefer) and I think looks wise its the best Tiempo to date. Weight could be lighter, but the carbon fiber soleplate really helps with stud pressure on very hard ground we have in summers; which is more important. Only issue is the thin heel liner material wears off reasonably quickly making that area look ugly. I got the heel liner replaced with a synthetic suede material like the normal Legend IV which is an improvement. I really wanted to source this white and green one. But the white and gold isn’t too far off 😀. Plus got it for about $170
My girl best friend had some Nike maestri 2s I believe in the euro 2012 clash pack in the elite version and she only used them 2 games in middle school and she threw them away for not needed them anymore. My heart broke because she found them at a Ross store.
The craftsmanship of the older boots were so much better than the quality we are getting now. Almost every boot from every brand had something special about it. Now we are pretty much wearing the same boot doesnt matter which brand. Slap on the older uppers and the current sole plates and I would argue we would have better boots

Hey Josh, this is a dumb question, but can you cut the studs of an FG boot with a circular saw? Would that help me play with them on AG without injuries?
The shape of the studs is typically the issue more than the length, unless you're playing on a really shallow turf surface. I suppose you could do that if you really want, just keep in my that modifying the boots like that would void the manufacturer's warranty.
Hi Josh, why do you think Nike stopped producing the Nike tiempo legend 4 elite? I think the last iteration of the tiempo 4 elite was in the euro 2012 pack. The tiempo legend 4 colourways after that only had the normal legend iv sole plate instead of the elite carbon fibre ones. In my opinion , the cost of production was maybe too high for them. What do you think? But you gotta admit the leather on the iv elite was the best ever
Aidil Amani my guesses are either the cost of production was too damn high or the demand on the legend 4 elite was so low because not everyone wanna invest 300-350 bucks on a pair of football boots. It’s a combination of a lot of other factors we may or may not know
The Elite series as a whole was so expensive that it never really sold very well. I can only assume that the soleplate was expensive to make, which is why all of the Elite boots were between $300-$400, so between the high cost and lack of sales, Nike just scrapped the whole concept. Also, as cool as the Elites were, I don't think they were always the best version of the boots over the cheaper, regular top-end version.
