The HD1 is actually has a 720 sensor the upsample, the hd7v has a 1080 sensor and is a great deal clearer but you have to have a DVI to HDMI connector.
Thanks for the detailed showcase! I just bought one of these and it works great but when I turn it on, it says "caution fan stopped" despite me feeling air moving around the air vents and hearing some sort of fan kicking in. Have you experienced this before? I don't intend on running it for more than 3-5 hours per session and I have tested for that long (without movement because I don't have a remote just yet) and it seemed just fine.
I would replace the tiny fan behind the vents with a tiny aluminum heatsink. The fans are the tiniest in the world and impossible to find, but the heatsink keeps the camera good for at least 8 hours as used in the longest session I have done.
How do you set this up with a PC? When I try to connect it via the DVI to the computers HDMI, using a similar adapter that you had, it doens't work. What am I missing?
You need to plug it into a capture card for your computer. Like the Blackmagic Decklink www.amazon.com/Blackmagic-Design-DeckLink-Recorder-Capture/dp/B01M126X2N/
