This is very useful. I am so used to cubic systems and i thought the ease would transfer across. This systematic approach fixed my head a little. Thank you.
This video was very helpful! Thank you for your post :) I think I like the annotated tablet better, or the video with a white background. It is easier to understand. I do like how you show your face in the video too, but the transition is kind of abrupt. Maybe a fade or if you greenscreen your body in a corner I think it would be better. We can still see you talk, but at the same time not get distracted by the face changes
Here, the a1 and a2 axes, though separated by 120 degree, have been assumed to be perpendicular so that a1, a2 and z axes can be considered orthogonal. It's just an assumption, and not exactly accurate. That's why the three axis indices system here is temporary. So, the action is deliberate. Hope it helps.
I think it's because what he means by "easy math" is that these expressions are pre-defined, so you just need to substitute the "temporary " 3 index values to convert it into 4- index values ...

omg man you saved my life with the idea of that cube i wast able to imagine the projection in the hexagonal shape at all
Thanks a lot!
Seriously appreciate these videos! My teacher asks very uncommon questions for these though!
"Hi, lets take a look at hyahh-blahha."
Same, bro, same.
loving the "ooooooh" sound in the background around 4:50, lol
Lool
Great explanation! My professor skips over all this stuff. It makes a lot more sense now.
My proff sucks , I deserve a good proff 😡

the best explanaiton that i've seen
This guy is a god
yeah, straight up saving lives.
How does it travel in the x? It moves along the y axis, not x at all.
Tom Hanks is teaching Physics nowadays. It's poetic how life can turn around!
That's really a great explanation.!! tnx a lot
turning a hexagon into a square is by far the dumbest thing I have encountered in my time studying chemistry
Wow very helpful video
Thanks!! It was really helpful!!
Mom we want Tom Scott
Tom Scott at home:
namaste sir,
while drawing a cube in hexagon, u mistook 120 degree to 90 degree, i guess.

Am I stupid or I just don't understand the "easy math" part?
Anyways, thanks for this clip...

Thanks a lot. Perfect.

Thanks sir👍
Thanks!!!
Thx=) but I've some problem about HCP plane..
