    I think the vibraphone is one of the more sophisticated, classy sounds out there!

    I just discovered the instrument behind that sound i heard on so many jazz songs ! I thought it was organ with a special tone...
    I'm now officially in love with jazz vibraphone.

    6 years too late, Tim but I just want to say this video has helped me so much even as a guitarist.
    I love vibraphones so I came here just to experience what a lesson would be like, but found tons of great information.
    Thanks!

    Tim; I was playing TH-cam roulette and found you. Your demonstration just showed me why I LOVE the "vibes" so much - from Lionel Hampton to The Checkmates ("The Percolator"). A MOST EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!

    Your videos are gold, I wish I had found your channel earlier in my journey. I'm a flutist btw, but I like the way you explain melodies.

    Hey Tim,
    This is a great video and very helpful! I have my first solo vibes gig tomorrow, and I need to do a bit of improvised soloing, so this helps to give me ideas.

    This is an instrument that scares and confounds me because I’ve never understood it. I never took the time to really see what’s going on. Love this vid! I get it!

    Great helpful video but it is very difficult to follow what notes you are playing as you are using 4 mallets. is it possible to just use 2 ? Colin Bray

    • @TimCollinsVibes
      @TimCollinsVibes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +colin bray yeah I'll probably do that in the future. I pretty much solo only with the two inner mallets in this video if that helps at all.

    Why are vibraphones, or Marimba soooo expensive.So are pedal harps.I saw a Musser vibraphone.I wish I could get one as a donation. One with 4 octaves.Not fair!!
