Il me semble qu’il est clair qu’en dépit de ses fautes grammaticales et les moments où il peine à exprimer exactement ce qu’il a en tête, il est loin d’être ridicule. Je garde l’esprit critique, et j’admets parfaitement que son français est imparfait, tout comme lui. Mais je m’efforce d’être indulgente, et je pense qu’il serait de mauvaise foi de dire que l’on ne comprend un mot de ce qu’il veut nous dire. Si vous l’appréciez et avez regardé des interviews en anglais (comme cela a l’air d’être le cas), vous pourrez constater que ses propos sont les mêmes, mais qu’il a simplement plus de difficulté à les exprimer dans sa seconde langue. For those who wonder, he speaks very good French, we feel that it is clearly from birth. He speaks like a Frenchman, without an accent. Sometimes he makes very small mistakes in words, saying the word in English, in French, because they are very close. That's all. Perfect. even the French expressions, he has them naturally.
Without an accent ???? I am french and i can definitely say that he has ann acccent. His sister Pauline does not.

As a half French girl who lives the school year in the US and all my summer en France I think he speaks super well and the fact that he’s embarrassed about his mistakes is actually super duper endearing
Love how when he slips out of speaking French he just has such an “I live in New York” American accent immediately and then just slips right back into French. So goddamned LOVELY HOWS HE SO LOVELY UUUGGGHH. I’m angry.
I feel like this was probably the most beautiful of talk shows I've ever seen in all the tours these two did. That guy is asking insightful questions after observing the cinematography and the emotions and the characters. A breath of fresh after all the basic trash we heard on the American front.

Honnêtement il est quasi parfait son français, y a juste son accent et sa grammaire qui le trahissent mais avec un peu d'années de pratique il pourra jouer des rôles où il joue un français c'est sûr.

This child-like candor he has is so cute haha.. The way he expresses things is really straightforward yet always so spontaneous and smart. It's always so weird to hear the change in the voice from one language to another... I'm French and it gets me every time he switches to English, how perfect it is. Oh, j’aime à penser que je ne suis pas hystérique et que je n’idolâtre personne. Je me contente de voir Timothée pour ce que je pense qu’il est: un jeune homme talentueux qui vit à New-York, fait l’objet d’une sur-médiatisation soudaine et ne pratique quasiment plus le français. Son enthousiasme, sa fougue et son insouciance sont la conséquence de son jeune âge, mais cela ne le rend pas moins intéressant et cultivé. Avez-vous écouté l’interview chez France Inter? Il me semble qu’il est clair qu’en dépit de ses fautes grammaticales et les moments où il peine à exprimer exactement ce qu’il a en tête, il est loin d’être ridicule. Je garde l’esprit critique, et j’admets parfaitement que son français est imparfait, tout comme lui. Mais je m’efforce d’être indulgente, et je pense qu’il serait de mauvaise foi de dire que l’on ne comprend un mot de ce qu’il veut nous dire. Si vous l’appréciez et avez regardé des interviews en anglais (comme cela a l’air d’être le cas), vous pourrez constater que ses propos sont les mêmes, mais qu’il a simplement plus de difficulté à les exprimer dans sa seconde langue. C’est tout ce qu’il y’a à dire à mon sens. Le roi est un homme comme vous l’avez dit.
J’ai 20 ans et suis actuellement étudiante. Je comprends.. j’espère avoir relevé un peu le niveau et vous avoir prouvé que certain(e)s d’entre nous sont encore capable de réflexion. :) Je vous souhaite une bonne journée Blandine. Au plaisir.
