I don't own this all rights go to Chon. Please subscribe if you enjoyed the video!!! Thanks for watching! Enjoy! By the way if you have any questions just ask in the comments.
The originals might not have thousands of $ worth of recording software and instruments but they're definitely more tasteful than the re-recorded versions.
+internetwarrior666 This is my favorite version! I remember when my friend told me about CHON back in (2011?) I had a cooking class with Nathan lol I wish they would've stuck to this version but at least they gave the fans what they wanted :)
This song got me into CHON. Changed my music taste entirely. Now I'm practicing this stuff on guitar, it's hard, but it's fun, it's the first while where I've had some real fun playing guitar. Made me learn sweeping, tapping, legato, harmony. Neat chords, love those maj/min9ths, jazzy as all hell.
+John Doe What do you mean? This was in 2008 and he was like 11 when they recorded this. He's a lot older now, so of course it's going to sound cleaner.
The new version is just better in my opinion (apart from ericks solo). But its still always really nice to come back and listen to the old school chon stuff.
@@daoyang6055 Erick's last solo in the re-recorded version sounded nicer imo. It just had that kind of glitchy, more technical feel. Idk I just prefer how it sounds in the newer version.
The Chon bros do such an amazing job at evoking so much funk and friendly vibrations, ya can't hate them! This version and the newer have different amounts of characteristics but none the less great positive flows with amazing transitions.
personally I think this version has drums that feel too busy at times, as well as the solo feeling a bit off? but other than that I love how funky this one is
I personally disagree. While I do enjoy the more upbeat nature of the drumming, since these guys were more experimental during the time, the re record is a lot more mature and it grooves way better.
FuzzyBalls _04 not saying he didn't lol just saying it's always been said in interviews that they programmed their drums and had Brian Evans recordthem
I love chin
Same
Jackie Chin
the crimson chin
I prefer chun but yea
Ye me too

internetwarrior666 You're right! I think I don't know any re-recorded song that sounded better than the original one.

ericks new solo tho... i think they shoulda left the outro the same
+Ramiro Ramirez this is the version they still play live. Just saw them a couple days ago.
@@ramiroramirez2310 what do you mean, a cooking class with Nathan? How old were you? Just wondering.

I like both versions for different reasons, but I prefer this one overall.
Yea same tbh, with this version I prefer the drums but the guitar solo bit is better in the other version
Drums are questionable, he plays it so much cleaner in the new version. I like the buildup though

+TheCalling15 nathan didn't record either versions
Guam Band Yes he did lol
TheCalling15 Mario recorded all of the drums back then, and now his drum teacher does all of the new songs except for a small amount.
+Guam Band Dude what are you talking about?? lol
Do you have any proof?
i miss being like 16 and bumping this
Me too
type shit
THE BASS TONE IS INSANEEEE
ikr
THAT DEPTH THOUGH
The new version is just better in my opinion (apart from ericks solo). But its still always really nice to come back and listen to the old school chon stuff.
Matthew Harper
This solo had feel. the new one is a legato and staccato mess I didn't like it.

Even if i love their new stuff, i miss that post-hardcore vibe
yes :'(
same
I miss this sound so much!! So glad I can hear it again

Ægewynn Thurnn this is my brother playing in this video. In 2003-6
@@heribertochavero1193 yeah right
Moki I’m not joking foo 😂
@@heribertochavero1193 wow I didn't know thats cool. ( sarcasm)
i like this version more because its not as polished and its a bit rough. generally sounds much more fun to me. both versions still kick ass though!!
Yea same I love the drums in this version more but I feel like the solo bit is a lil better in the other version
2:33 the liccc??
Doesn't sound quite note for note, even in this key, but, l hear what you mean. They listen to fusion, so it'd only be a matter of time, yeah? Lol.
i say so haha
From 2008 and I’ll still listen to this in 2040
Both versions are great, but the re-recorded solo edges it out for me.
personally I think this version has drums that feel too busy at times, as well as the solo feeling a bit off? but other than that I love how funky this one is
The best recording of this song
The drums go so hard in the original!
Who remembers To Each His Own? That's how I originally found Chon.
drums at 1:00 in are infinitely better than the newer version
I personally disagree. While I do enjoy the more upbeat nature of the drumming, since these guys were more experimental during the time, the re record is a lot more mature and it grooves way better.
Peak music
Well, I like the mix of the originals.
I like the guitar work in this version better but the drums on the new version are better so IDK which I like better
I'm Blackman .
it's a yes from me
nothing beats the classics
I prefer this version
Pretty sure mario recorded the drums on this one.
They literally re-recorded the song, looked at the guitars and said “MORE NOTES”
Makes me think if The Lords of the Underworld were more technical they wouldn't
need, Timmy!!!!!!!!!
I actually like this. In fact this doesn't heard hipster at all. I like that.
this version is better. i could fall asleep to the new one
My brother used to play in chon. He played the drums in this video. His name is TAVO Rivera. Chon is from Oceanside which is where I live. CA
FuzzyBalls _04 ?? Pretty sure Mario mentioned the drums from Newborn Sun and before were programmed by him
Bro Mario went to school with my brother in Vista CA
FuzzyBalls _04 not saying he didn't lol just saying it's always been said in interviews that they programmed their drums and had Brian Evans recordthem
Imagine trying to make yourself sound or seem legit lol
Moki HMU if you wanna hear some songs from chon that probably won’t be released ever
it’s crazy how young they were when they made this
WHOO!!!!!
Live version kdkakakaka
Whoo
Who else found this song because of their other song breathe
