- I view 3 units (3 bed, 2 bed and 1 bed) in the new Astra Sky River condo on Chang Klan Road in Chiang Mai Thailand, this building is amazing!

Take a look at The Smith residence they were about that price when we were there. Not bad for a serviced apartment, but the utility cost may have a little extra added in.

Price is high for someone living in Thailand already but for an American, European or wealthy Chinese paying 300.000 dollars for something like this is not unrealistic. They are obviously units built for people with money.
Yeah I can see that, foreign quota is all sold out and the Thai quota has sold less than half of the available units
I suggest trying to look at Peaks Garden and Twin Peaks condos next to the Shangrila. A little older but built to high standards. Another nice one is Mountain Front out near 700 year stadium. Also Anantara Suites can be bought outright.

Just stayed the entire month of October in a two bedroom Airbnb in this building. Beautiful pool that you are not allowed to bring an alcoholic beverage at enjoy. Large tiled echoey hallway that was noisy at all hours of the night. Great breakfast restaurant across from building but not much else very close. I personally would not choose to live in this area or this building.

I'm seeing what all the hype is about except the pool maybe. Once they take out all the goodies inside it's just going to be another concrete box. Full of Chinese (who tend to be loud compared to Thai people) or being rented out so a constant influx of random tourists who may or not be polite. No spectacular view, next to a noisy road. What am I missing?
Yes, the way it's been decorated really hypes it up.

Jon….. No way in hell would I live in a Astra again. We lived in the other one for 8mo in 2022-2023 and for a 1mo trip in 2020. It was great short term, but long term you have to deal with tourists and backpackers. What I mean by that is, want to get out of the apartment and do some work by the coffee shop? Sorry there is 25people laying all over the couches and floors waiting on their Air BnB to let them in or their ride to their next point. Want to use the pool? Nope there is the same folks getting in one last sunbath before leaving. Order a Grab? There is now a daily traffic jam at your apartment getting them in and out. It just became way too much and I would never move there again. I hope Sky River enforces the no short term rental policy that the other one has, but ignores while having signs all over saying “No short stays”😅

My family (4 pax) plans to go to Chiangmai in December. We are considering the one, Unique or Astra River Sky. Which one do you recomemend?
Hmm no experience with the One, which Unique are you looking at? I’ve seen the one in Nimman but not the one close to Huay Kaew road. Comparing this one to the one in Nimman I’d say this one but if you like Nimman then the Unique :)
