    As someone who has the MAD wheels(verreal), I can say that the vibration Scott mentions is pretty severe when you ride slower than 10mph. I'm on the heavier side at a little over 200 lbs and when you first take off with these wheels the vibration is bad. Enough that it makes a crude noise loud enough for you and others around you to hear for the first little bit. But after 10mph the wheels are great. They take the sharp bite out of every sidewalk crack or bump, but be aware that vibration, in my case, isn't fun. But I personally would still recommend them especially if you ride fast as the grip is very good.

    Have 105D clouds, mad 105s and the 110 cyclones and agree with Scott. I'd put the mad 105 first then, the 110s and then the cloudwheels. One thing i did notice on the cyclones is that they wear really quickly. After about 50miles I've worn out most of the camber, but I ride/carve pretty aggressively. Would be cool to see a range test between the mad 105s and cyclones.

    • @fujio001
      @fujio001 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Significant wear after only 50 miles is pretty surprising. The test set I have on my board have hundreds of miles with very little wear. After they break in the contact patch gets a bit bigger and the grip increases.

    Really like my Mad 105s, and I usually don't like wheels bigger than 85-90mm. They have a nice ride feel even though they are much lighter than other big wheels = better range.
    They look and feel better than the Cyclones.
    I've heard some comment on that vibration feelin but I think it's at lower speeds? I think it's the holes compressin, which you feel more when not goin too fast.
    I expected to feel that but didn't so some people notice it more than others.
    Haha, it's hilarious they sent you the wheels without tellin you who "they" are lol.

    • @fujio001
      @fujio001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bingo! Some people do feel the holes compressing at lower speeds. Also, the wheels do make a distinct humming noise that you notice at first. MAD Wheelz are way lighter than other big urethane a rubber wheels at 400g. Torqueboard 110s are about 550g and rubber wheels are usually over 600g. The weight decreases acceleration and braking performance. Multiply the difference by 4 and you have a lot of additional rotating weight!

    I own the mad wheels and as a heavy rider I cannot recommend them. There is a weird vibration on them which I’ve heard from other esk8’ers. It’s not only you dude. These wheels have good grip but the vibration loosens screws even when Loctite and just feels terrible unless you’re flying by. Maybe for a lighter rider it’s different but not sure.

      @@thisoldesk8er955 I have, also tried the more costly Flat-out, in my experience in testing the slime works best cause the fibers are thicker but have to watch out that you don't use much. I got a Flat from a big staple making 2 holes in the tire and tube, after removing the staple I just added about 2 Oz. Of slime and it fixed the flat and 2 weeks later it still working, if you baddest too much youbwill experience a bit of bibration at first then after riding it will go away. @@thisoldesk8er955 yeah its an entire different experience, they take away some range but you feel invincible lol. The grip its also something that's on its unique level, best think is to have an extra wheel in your back pack or a kit of bike patches and a small pump. Im in Brooklyn NYC and have catches more than a few flats, that didn't stop me from riding all the way home just got to ride slow. Best tire to catch a flat on its the new bkb 6" flat profile tire, you can't tell its there least you pass 25mph or start carving aggressive, I rode 5 miles on one so I know lol. Ride safe Brotha!

    I was gonna ask the difference between the two with their relative "chatter" over joints and pebbles and what-not, but you answered it right at the end. I figured the mads would be a touch harsher due to their flatter profile and urethane, and that seems to be the case. What would you consider the ideal height/material compromise for the voyager with a heavier rider?

      They read on the sides 68a when I got them three months ago. Can't double check because the decals are gone. Anyway, with a durometer I own, after about three months of wear, they are 55a to 60a now and I have worn down the rear pair to just 102 mm (104mm for the front ones)!
      They are great wheels, I love them! Silent on even moderately rough streets and even the rougher ones; comfortable as hell and safe since they flick away good sized peebles and other debris with fantastic grip; but their softness shortens the range on my Meepo Voyager by several miles and perhaps slow me down two, three mph despite their size since I weigh around 186 pounds. They are perhaps running a little equivalent to "under inflated" due to my weight and extreme softness.
      I intend to get the 72a rated urathene Meepo Cyclones 105s as a compromise to get higher top speed and further range and less wear. I will go back to the larger Cyclones if I am too spoiled to like the 105s.😊
