Same i didn't know about this show until either my next door neighbor told me or i discovered it on the WWW, so i watched the whole 8 seasons in about 3-6 months i think and have 2 say i wish the show continued or they did a 10 year anniversary season in 2022 and then did another 8 seasons and repeated like that
i love the extra ( the lady on the back) saying "hes good'' or something os sorts to the "nurse" while hearing ''house'' sing at 5:45 he clearly knows his notes...love this dude
however this does bring up an interesting question that would come to the mind of the child if she actually understood what this meant. When a body becomes pregnant it is flooded with hormones, and a funny thing about hormones is that they dont just go to one location, that's not how blood works. So when the hormones entered into this extra breast tissue that happened to be on the back of her knee it would have swelled up similar to how a girl's breasts swell durring pregnancy. then she would have had it checked out as random patches of skin the size of strawberries don't often suddenly grow on the back of the leg, and she would have known about the breast tissue on her leg. This, of course, means that this patient has never been pregnant before, and thus can't be the biological mother of this child. Therefore, after all is said and done, the girl will still realize that she was adopted if she ever decides to learn anything about how biology works.
he explained it, basically there are occasions when you're developing where your body makes a mistake. sometimes you get an extra finger, sometimes you get a tail, sometimes you grow breast tissue on the back of your leg. its just a case of your body developing tissues in places where it isnt suppose to be, and for some of these cases it doesnt really matter. but for the case of this woman her misplaced breast tissue developed a tumor and started causing the symptoms of breast cancer.
The point his that in his heart of hearts, waaaaayyyy deep down House DOES care! But he has a very very VERY strong defence mechanism against experiencing emotional pain. So strong and deep rooted that he isn't even aware of it.
I think it’s the only thing he cares about. His patients. He’s willing to break hospital regulations and even break the law to help his patients. Sometimes curing someone isn’t in his best interest but he does it anyway. Like in season 1 finale when he’s treating his ex girlfriend’s husband and breaks the law to help him. In the series finale the patient is willing to take the blame for flushing the tickets because he’s dying, then house realises he’s not dying and saves him even though it means the patient won’t cover for him.
4:40 More people need to understand this. Just because the truth isn't comfortable or fun does not necessarily mean those who tell the cold truth don't care. Letting someone stay in denial of the truth for a short time because of their feelings may be necessary in the way of healing, but keeping them there thus poisoning them to hinder proper growth is, in fact, uncaring in the highest degree. This is why I don't discriminate what truth is owed to those around me, rather I tell them truth as best I know it because I care for them and the truth... Though I'm not sure I'd be able to tell it as well as that girl did; I admire that honesty and ability.
Nice Easter egg at the end. When House says "Have a wonderful life" at the end it is a clear reference to the movie "It's a Wonderful Life," also set during Christmas.
My favorite Christmas episode of tv ever, and it was on my favorite show! House got a Christmas present he could actually appreciate, and an excellent medical case, and a fantastic patient family dynamic/backstory. Great episode and awesome clip!! Thanks!!
"I got a watch, a vintage LP, and a second edition Conan Doyle" One of the most self aware references of the whole series. I love those inside references, i wonder if house "knows" who he is?
I saw a slightly different variation of this clip. This one got to me, when the piano started softly playing "Santa Clause is coming to town." Then House used the phrase "a wonderful life".
People keeps saying Wilson gives House the eureka moment often. House just feels safe and comfortable around Wilson since they are BFF therefore House's brain, while processing the patient's case 24/7, is not wasted in other things but in hyper mode while casually talking to each other.
House can't take it, that the daughter shows no respond to the love of the mother. She is not even happy that the mother continous to live. I think he needs the opposite of his additude. He is cold and realistic and everyone else is emotional but not in this case. The girl is just like him. He can't tke it, listen careful how he says "Have a wonderful live".
On the contrary. The daughter cares a lot. What House is struggeling to understand is that she is able to act 'cold' even though she does care. She basically shows him that it actually is possible to care and be honest and truthfull in the hardest situations. You don't have to sacrifice one for the other like House is trying to do.
This wouldn't be a bad comment if it weren't for the spelling. And i think your wrong, he sees that he dislikes her and then sees himself in her and reflects on his problems.
I forgot the singing part of this episode. Yeah he does. He was involved in a musical side project with other talented actors who were musicians as well as having released two albums of new Orleans jazz music

I can't imagine anyone else playing house Hugh Laurie killed it just absolutely 100% amazing performer
Totally agree..almost wish he was my real doc as I too am dying from liver
@michaelkorrek7856 so sorry 😞 to hear that. If it's not sarcastically meant, honestly, im unsure ...i truly wish you the best!
There is something incredibly comforting about House saying "Have a wonderful life."
I wish House M.D. would return
Yeah, a season 9!
Where the first episode shows us people discovering House is still alive at Wilson's death bed or funeral ^^
I don't, they always manage to screw up reboots. At least this way the show remains unscathed.
Same bro, same. 2018 and still hoping.
@Arno Sinclair It was all a dream :)
Same i didn't know about this show until either my next door neighbor told me or i discovered it on the WWW, so i watched the whole 8 seasons in about 3-6 months i think and have 2 say i wish the show continued or they did a 10 year anniversary season in 2022 and then did another 8 seasons and repeated like that
The real Christmas miracle is Hugh Laurie singing in a flawless American accent
Singing opens and relaxes the throat, much like American speech, so it's not a miracle at all.
It’s habit for Brit’s.
Most of the music we hear is American.
I’m Scottish and I sing American, I need to make a conscious effort to sing in Scottish
i love the extra ( the lady on the back) saying "hes good'' or something os sorts to the "nurse" while hearing ''house'' sing at 5:45 he clearly knows his notes...love this dude
When Wilson does the reindeer wink, I friggin die.
I used to love House, but I realized Wilson is the man.
Nobody roots for Wilson. I mean nobody.
dhronan pandarinathan comment author does
The pilot was going feature Wilson, but they went with House (the mal-adjusted guy).
I like Wilson.
astrangeone what’s your point?
Did you seriously just clarify who House was? While we're watching House clips.
child to mum: you are dying, It's not going to be ok
house:*thinking* are u sure she's not my daughter
Legs with breasts, there is a God...
made me lol
It's a Christmas miracle!
It's more a milk producing tumor... XD
You win 10 internets !
Dwight K. Schrute I see what you did there.
7:29 "Open your mouth. Relax, you have had it before."
Where can I get a hat like Wilson's? Lol
Jessie probably amazon
Yeah, I was trying to look on there earlier but couldn't find his exact hat. Maybe he made it himself?
I think its just a normal winter hat with reindeer antlers tied to it. There are strings tied to the antlers so he can move it
BirdFortune. I think you're right, I'm gonna have to make my own soon then!
BirdFortune you can see the string or wire thing
The song at 5:27 is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by the Ramsey Lewis Trio
It's lupus
Rum Johnson It's never lupus 😏
at least its not raw
its never lupus
Rum Johnson It's sarcoidosis. It's always sarcoidosis.
hahaha nah we all know is Lyme disease
6:06
this moment Is why House is a treasure.
it took me a good minute to realize that wilson's hat had strings attached to it and that's how he was moving the antlers
however this does bring up an interesting question that would come to the mind of the child if she actually understood what this meant. Therefore, after all is said and done, the girl will still realize that she was adopted if she ever decides to learn anything about how biology works.
but then how did the breast tissue get to the back of her leg
he explained it, basically there are occasions when you're developing where your body makes a mistake. sometimes you get an extra finger, sometimes you get a tail, sometimes you grow breast tissue on the back of your leg. its just a case of your body developing tissues in places where it isnt suppose to be, and for some of these cases it doesnt really matter. but for the case of this woman her misplaced breast tissue developed a tumor and started causing the symptoms of breast cancer.
Ahhhh ok I get it now, cuz I thought he meant that the fetus left breast tissue in the mother.
But if she never got pregnant, where the foetus came from
@@divya-b5y He is talking about the time when she herself was a foetus.
How cool is it that at 3:51, the background music is playing the same song House sings at 5:40? Love these little nuances in the series.
Not only does Hugh Laurie SPEAK with a perfect American accent, he sings with one too.
Mom: "I love you."
Tough adoptive daughter: "I know."
Instant classic.
"Have a wonderful life". Happy and jealous at the same time. House is a great actor
This is why we love House, a person who delivers miracle despite he doesn't believe in miracle, who care despite he doesn't care.
"Yes, I could be wrong and if I am she's dead. So...shut up!"
Me when I'm trying to run a new program code and my friend says it'll fail.
House: "It's a moose on a Jew."
And you're an English actor pretending to be American. What game are we playing?
Andrew Bjork i love house and wilsons relationship, this show could’ve gone on forever and i never would’ve got tired of it.
Sounds like Wilson having a kid with a Canadian
State the obvious apparently
4:59 - "don't pin this on christ, he's got enough nails in him" LOL that caught me off guard ahahahah
Okay, give the actress who played the little girl an Oscar or an Emmy or something. She kills it in every scene.
All the sudden Josh Lyman walks in and yells “DONNA!!” And then the patient just gets out of bed
THAT'S WHERE I KNOW HER FROM - yes, I shouted. Caps Lock was not involved.
Josh would faint.
He was dizzy hearing about a compound fracture Donna had, if he saw the leg breast milk he’d have a stroke.
Wow.....for House to admit that something was cold..... that was intense! Dang....
4:40
More people need to understand this.
The way house was is why a reboot would be a mistake.
Whenever I watch this, I just love how House is so excited when he's about to discover a truth and also how frustrated he is when he finally has it.
0:40 Man, olivia wildes eyes are sooo beautiful
i love the line "that was cold' and then house just goes"yeah" like thats alot from house
5:35 house singing the song we all came for
5:22 I'm just gonna leave this for those who just *adore* the musical eureka for this scene. I love it.
I never noticed this before, thank you.
You have got too hand it to Hugh Laurie, he went across the pond and lived to tell the tale.
Umm you don't know? Hugh's British. Listen to him in interviews he's from England.
Hugh Laurie can sing so beautifully! He's quite the musician, isn't he?
Wilson's cap😂
Nice Easter egg at the end. When House says "Have a wonderful life" at the end it is a clear reference to the movie "It's a Wonderful Life," also set during Christmas.
My favorite Christmas episode of tv ever, and it was on my favorite show! House got a Christmas present he could actually appreciate, and an excellent medical case, and a fantastic patient family dynamic/backstory. Great episode and awesome clip!! Thanks!!
"I got a watch, a vintage LP, and a second edition Conan Doyle"
One of the most self aware references of the whole series. I love those inside references, i wonder if house "knows" who he is?
@@emmyyang4339 definitely a vintage record. But i meant the Conan Doyle.
The girl is just like
him.
YOUR spelling is also bad, YOU'RE wrong.
lovequeenny maybe a little, but I've still managed to get 99% of my spelling right smart fuck
It's a pity that you can't say the same about your grammar.
The real Christmas miracle is that singing voice.
For anyone who's interested - the music at the end of the clip (7:52) is Ramsey Lewis Trio's version of Santa Clause is Coming to Town
The "Sun King/Little Drummer Boy" mashup to start off the scene is kind of an unexpected delight.
Nothing like knee milk to brighten up the holidays!
yeah man knee milk and cookies only the best for santa
Beard Dirt what you mean some good old leg-nog
He wanted to prove that kid wrong so hard he solved the case
Look at 7:26 with subtitle on. Lol
HAHAHAHAH
RIP
Yeeet
So that's what the white stuff was...
Now white stuff on a teen girl kids mouth would have excite pedophiles right? And the subtitle would have them jump for joy dang! 😣
haha
5:08 House has the best clap backs! 👏🏼🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
House has an amazing voice
I take it you've listened his jazz albums?
I forgot the singing part of this episode. Yeah he does. He was involved in a musical side project with other talented actors who were musicians as well as having released two albums of new Orleans jazz music
Linda M. A Bit of Fry and Laurie. Not only are both rather funny, they are highly intelligent and versatile entertainers as well.
5:09 When I watched this episode for the first time I never noticed the strings so the horn wink got me by surprise
5:40
Me: "Who's singing?"
**House walks through door**
Me: "What! He can sing? Since when?" 😂
He's actually a singer, composer, a musician on top of being a great actor. This man can do anything!
