Don't "ask" what you're getting paid, you TELL them your price. BOOM! Peace DJ
So true man. Recently I had an enquiry to play at a private birthday party. After some back and forth we settled on a price. I suspected something was up from the conversation, so
asked for 50% deposit and it all went quiet. Later found out she was in conversations with another DJ. By asking for the deposit I knew where I stood early on and saved myself a lot of time and effort in prepping etc..
have a contract, get a non-refundable deposit and demand to be paid the day of upon arrival in your contract. If they do not pay the day of then do not setup and watch how quick your money comes.
FACTS MAN. I want my money before I press PLAY.
As a wedding DJ, it’s 25% to confirm booking and rest 14 days at least before event date. No cash no play. On night of event ain’t chasing nobody for money. This should be paid hand. Promoters take deposit so why can’t they pay deposit to performers. Simples!!
Thank you broher
Hey u are so real in all your videos and that's why I love your content, not to mention the knowledge you provided
I have learnt alot from this channel since I subscribed. Thank you so much. Kenya in the building.
Bro I don't regret subscribing to your Chanel!!!!!
This was a very informative video! When it comes to accepting gigs I ask all the questions needed to make my self more comfortable before going or If I go I'm aware of what to expect I don't like surprises so its natural for me to ask everything I need to ask them. When it comes to getting payed I make sure I get paid deposit , depending the situation before I even show up or Set up...whatever way I make sure because I don't wanna waste my time and energy If I have to chase them lol.
Quality video man! Rate this a lot 🙌🏼
Thanks bro
Great message/advice man. Luckily I've never had the issue of not getting paid that night. But I've heard quite a few horror stories of how DJs get ghosted, that shit's rough.
Very good useful advice❤
Friendly tip: Please consider getting a pop filter for your mic as the Ps, Bs etc. are cutting through hard. Thank you! Great advice as always.
This was very helpful
Glad you found it helpful!
All good points man!!!! ESPECIALLY PARKING LOL
No none thinks about parking 😂
Those who want the discount, expect $1000 service for $50
Good video ✔️
Thanks bro
I'm from the philippines and i'm guilty of lowering my dj fees. 😅 Thank you for the advice...
Could u do a tutorial in dept on how to mix and dj using ddj rev 1 please
Have a look at DJ Jordan Lee using the REV 1 here: th-cam.com/video/9O3vwFbrBJY/w-d-xo.html You'll love it!
@@BuddyBakhuijsen thanks for the advice 😁
Private events I always have a signed contract and s deposit. BARS SAME SPECIALY Deposit
I think the best thing to ask to get a fee is "what is your budget?"
For anything you need to have a rate even if it is minimum wage! Most promoters dont respect the DJ so you need a contract even if it is something simple written on paper and you let them sign it.
To see such awesome equipment looking so destroyed and crapped on 💔
How do I get gigs?
I ask for payment upfront in full. Otherwise, they are not my client!
I ve been djing for years i tell you my price then i tell you what deposit i want down i have 2 page contracts made up with what time? Where what type of music i find put start time i meed a hour in a half to set up whats the best entrance to come im at after i set up i park with the regular people dont wsnt my truck standing out i dont drink i use cds laptop and my phone all at once dont like serato my banger songz are prerecorded on cds right in a row i dont have to look hard for them on seresto i use top notch spk jbl 2 15 i dont like spk on a stand take away fr the bass subs make the music sound artificial im very busy my dj cards say music for all occasions 10 yrs to 80 yrs old white folks jazz and gospel i dont charge out the ass either!! I charge more if i got deal with stairs fr DJ GEORGE B JAMMIN!!
The Famous 'I'll pay you after the event'
Lol honestly I hate it
@@DJCEE_B why I've started doing invoice jobs if that's the case, after 30 days if they still ain't paid it's not looking good for them
No contract no DJ
Pretty low level advice. Welcome to the music industry or any art industry. Main thing is connections - second thing is luck and rising when you have the opportunity to shine. All the industries involve politics and everyone talks. So take the money hits and become homies with the promoter/club owner? If that’s too hard for you….well it’s not your industry.
