- The Storming of the Bastille was one of the most important events of the French Revolution. It was the first major act of violence in the French Revolution by the revolutionaries against Louis XVI and the French Monarchy. As such, historians consider the Storming of the Bastille to be the 'spark' of the French Revolution and the event that started France down the violent path towards revolt.

Manned by foreign mercenaries, they had “diversity” back then too.

News Flash: the American Revolution came BEFORE France's revolution. The USA was the example to the world, not France as you say in your video.
it happend before yes, but it didn't inspire as much as the french revolution did. USA was at the time a Small place no one knew about, but France was one of the leader of the world, with citizen everywhere on the planet, and everyone with autority spoke french not english. That's why usa wasn't the exemple to the world. Also Us citizen didn't revolt against a thousand years of slavery and dominion.
If you actually read documents from the time, it becomes pretty obvious that France was the example of the world.
France had a much bigger impact, in fact the Russian Revolutions, which led to the establishment of the Soviet Union are a direct result of the French Revolution since the subsequent rise of Napoleon and his War on Europe led to the first sparks of revolution amongst russian nobility
