Here is my experience in Bangkok with Anan Tailors located at Lebua State Tower1055/5 Silom Rd. Anan is a great guy and really helpful. His Whatsapp is +66-81-714-8417.
I just bought three more fantastic suits and 4 shirts this week from them in 2024.
This guy knows absolutely nothing about menswear lmao. Super numbers do not matter for the wool. There is no way a quality garment can be made at 240 USD, quality wool is too expensive to have a suit made at that price. The lapels are skinny like you bought it off the rack at topman. Your chest puffs out cause it is a fused suit and not half canvas. Nobody take advice from this video learn the fabric houses that make quality wools from Italy, france and the UK and if the store you are inquiring about has never heard of these names then do not waste your money. I'm all for finding deals and saving money but this video is just going to trick people who do not know any better about menswear.
Rule number 1: negotiate the price before picking any fabrics and letting them do any measurements. Welcome to Bangkok!
$300 suit and shirt with $15 sneakers. :D
🤣🤣
HAHA, I'll never live that one down
Anyone keen on buying a suit in southeast Asia need only wear one of your current suits in a sauna for an hour - that will give you some idea of what's waiting for you the instant you step out of the aircon onto a Bangkok street. I'm not suggesting you wont like the suit - simply that you might not find Bangkok the best place to wear it. As always, YMMV,
if someone produced a pair of pants like that for me with the thread showing. I would be in JAIL.
I am traveling to Bangkok in December 2022 and highly considering getting a suit made. How and why did you decide on Anan tailors? Thanks!!
sleeves are short, hems are visible on the pants, and the chest area is too big. they ripped you off on quality lol
sleeves are supposed to reveal shirt cuffs
So you were in BK for 4 weeks? I have only 2 Weeks..
Jesus, man, you had me all the way up to the dirty sneakers.
The suit looks nice but we never really got to see the shirt. I would say 13,000 baht was little too pricey... Typically a suit and shirt would start from 5,000 baht (super 180s) however, I always buy 2 or 3 to get the price down...
At 6:18 BRUH what are THOSE!!!!!!! OTHER than that great vid and thanks for the suit tips!
Chris & Lavinia Kereopa HAHAHA.
You don’t like my converse with the Suit😂? I just got the suit, hadn’t gotten new shoes yet:) but I got custom shoes made in BKK later and I love them.
The Bucketlist Lifestyle Some NICE SLICK SNAKE SKIN SHOES WOULD GO WELL!👍🏽
Your suit doesn’t fit The lapels “break” across the chest because the chest is too tight
those shoes killed me hahahaha
Nice video, suit came out nice. Not a bad price at all.
It's great that you are satisfied with your suit but i have to disagree about it looking great. For example in 5:50 that jacket sleeve in NOT fitting you well, same thing in around 6:00. Sleeve caps (not sure if that's the right word) are too narrow for you. And those pants are not finished well...i must say, that is NOT well made suit, at least not to your measurements, sorry. Great thing is that you didin't pay too much for it ;D
What was the turn around time?
one week total. 3 adjustments after the initial fitting.

300 $ suit 5 $ shoes 😂
You volume is to low, I can’t hear you talking. What a shame I think you video is grate.
If looking for lower prices, you can get family tailoring
Super 180's will show wear very quickly...the fibres are too fine. A 110's or 120's will do nicely and wear much better. The Super number has nothing to do with quality. The chest is too tight...the lapels "break" over the chest Another video by someone who really doesn't know their subject.
Well, two years later, and it's still not showing wear. I am not an expert, as this is not a suit guide channel, just trying to be helpful to people who want a suit in Bangkok.
How long did it take for them to make the suit?
about 1 week with all the alterations needed.
Dude tailoring of this suit is unfortunately not above average i d say. Also the numbers about the fabric totally not related to the quality of it. Still it is not a rip off .
Great video, the shoes though.
If you think that this is nice job....what i tell you..!!! Did you notice the finish of the pants? Did you notice the back of shoulders?...come on man you are kidding?
audio problems so low
Nice suits, did you buy your shoes from a hobo?
I bought them from your mama, who lives under a bridge. So yes.
I bought them from your mama, who lives under a bridge. So yes.
Good video and thanks for sharing. Btw hope you don't wear those shoes with the new suit...haha. j/k.
Nice suit! I'm in Bangkok in a few weeks and curious about the time it took for the fabric selection, measurements, etc. Also, how many times did you go back before it fit correctly. Thanks for the help!
The entire process took about a week. It took 3 measurements/ adjustments to make it perfect. From walking in the door initially, to getting all the fabric picked out and negotiated the price was about one hour. Not too Bad!
Does girl on the back seat of the bije come withe the suit? I think 270$ is fair price for that
Gotta get the suit in order to get the girl ;)
I think you should have bought shoes instead! Lol!
Wrong. Raja’s Fashions is the best tailor in Bangkok.
Have you tried my tailor before? If not, how would you know?
wtf was that sneakers about?!
Hold on Mate....are you telling me that a super 180 worsted wool costs so less...you must be joking....the good ones do cost a lot...
The fabrics listed as Super 180s wool is lies. I've been in these shops and they are polyester or wool poly blends, not Super 180. This guy claiming Super180 is "better" doesn't know what he is talking about.
Don't pay over 200 USD at these shops.
you made that look really easy but when you walk in one of these places they have 100's of different roles of material and to the uninitiated it's easy to be told something is good quality when it isn't......and to believe what you're being told. These guys are good at what they do which is not just suit making......the guys in the shop don't make the suits they're salesmen and they're there to maximise the margins. So what should we listen out for to avoid being overcharged for tat and what should we look for ensure we get decent quality at a fair price?
First off, Walk in like you know what you're doing, and know what you're looking for. Doing your research, like watching this video is important. Knowing that a super 180 will feel much softer than a super 100, know that it's also more shiny than the lower supers. When you know the basics, they seem to respect you more, and not try to scam you. Plus going to a reputable place is important too. This place was rated highly by people I trust. Also it's at the base of a very high class apartment tower and next to a 5 star hotel, so wealthy people go here, which made it less likely to be scammed by fake materials, and also likely harder to negotiate a bit. Hope this helps.
Higher super number isnt better...
You are correct, depending on what you're looking for. For myself, I wanted something very soft, with a bit of a shine. It wasn't an everyday suit, more of a "look at me, I'm fancy" type of suit.
The sound is horrible
video is too loud
nice suit but the shoes on this suit 😅 just no
Always burn the fabric before buying it... if it smells like plastic, it's a high polyester blend... If it smells like burnt hair, it's real wool... I got scammed like you many years ago as well...
I actually just had someone tell e this for the first time this week while I was in Bangkok. Cool little trick. Not sure why you said I got scammed though... Unless you have a superpower for knowing fabrics through the computer. Three years later and it's still my go to suit.
@@thebucketlistlifestyle1213 The shiny material is a dead give away... pure wool is not shiny at all, especially if it's a super 180 like you mentioned, then it should be thick and non-reflecting in the sun or in a bright room... so it's most likely a wool/polyester blend.
However, if you just have 1 or 2 suits then a polyester blend is fine, especially if you don't wear them often... But if you wear suits very often, then polyester is not acceptable at all because the color and feel will change after dry cleaning it about 10 times, sometimes even less.
Real wool wool doesn't shine at all and breaths much better than polyester, so you sweat less.... as a matter of fact, most street level tailors in Bangkok will almost always show you their polyester blends first because they make the most profit on them and they'll tell you it's pure wool most of the time... unless you ask to burn it then they suddenly point you towards a few rolls of real wool they have (most of them don't have that many real wool fabrics actually)
If you go to Rajawongse or Tailor on Ten (the most popular tailors in Bangkok for quality entry level priced suits) they don't even have polyester blends.
In MBK mall you can get decent polyester/wool blend suits for around 4000 baht, but it's still a polyester blend... if you want pure wool it's going to be 6000/7000 - the best place in my opinion... and i've burned a lot of fabric in Asia over the past years... sometimes it feels like real wool but when you burn it just drips and smells like plastic
@@MrGravelpits After reading your comment I did a little research and found that the shine on super 180's worsted wool is not from polyester or any other fabric blend, it's because the material is much more smooth and has a shine to it. If you google it, there is quite a lot of articles explaining this.
So pure worsted wool is shiny when it becomes smooth. worsted wool is more shiny than regular wool according to my brief research.
@@thebucketlistlifestyle1213 I highly doubt anyone would get a pure wool from a street level tailor in Bangkok without burning the fabric though.
lol
Those shoes …. 🤡🤡🤡🤡
how would you recommend i bring this back on the airplane to canada?
The flight attendant can hang it for you. If not, fold it and put it under the seat in front of you.
