Wow! I might reconsider going to a Tailor-Shop in Bangkok/Thailand. Had some rather negative experiences and thought if you wanna have a "cheap" suit one better goes to H&M or whatever but that guy seemed to be more than competent!
Having a suit made there right now. Last fitting next week. Great place. Fantastic service and friendly staff. People comment that you can get it cheaper other places, don't care. The experience, atmosphere in the shop and the professional staff is worth every penny. Thank you for making this video and showing me this place. 👍 I'm going back next time I'm in Bangkok.
I got a decent tailored suit in SE Asia many years ago and I still use it to this day for interviews, weddings, events, etc. Good call getting one there! It is an investment and will likely pay for itself in time. 👍
This was a random but interesting vlog! Custom tailored suits are great from Thailand, I’ve made a bunch from several shops in MBK Center, around same price as what you paid. The great thing about it is that only you can wear it, it won’t fit on anyone else. The reality is you can’t gain weight after your trip for if or when you decide to use it when you get it shipped out to you. The steps you took were all correct. You first decide on materials and style, return for 1st fitting, return again for final fitting. Great job!
It shouldn't cost this much at MBK tailors. For this price (~$400-600), Raja's or Rajawongse would offer the best quality and reputation, although the shop featured here appears to be proper and competent.
I didn’t see you wearing a suit. I didn’t expect you to be so suitable for wearing a suit. You are so handsome! I have never customized a suit, but I learned something from this episode. I'm also very satisfied with your final appearance. I give it 120 points out of 100! Thank you for letting us watch the whole process, super great job! 👍🤩👏🎉
Natural fabrics like wool, cashmere and silk are going to be very expensive. Let alone the fabric is from a luxury brand like Loro Piana. I think for the price he paid for the tailored suit, he got a good deal. If you buy that similar suit to his at Loro Piana’s site, he will most likely spend several thousand dollars.
I dont think even at that price you will get a loro piana suit....the prices for such fabrics arent so different in terms of price....could be a couple of hundred dollars cheap..but otherwise...such brand prices are at par with the west.
always enjoy your vids, ths episode very interesting....you gota a suite tailored for you, must say good decison since prices in USA and CANADA, so much more expensive. You nailed it Zane, and I must say, very dapper...Makes you look very handsome (not that you aren't), those guys were incredible!!!
This may have been a made to order suit, but not bespoke as you would get made in London , or Italy. There is very little hand stitching, and moulding of the fabric to form a curve to the lapel, chest and collar. This requires a lot of pad stitching with horsehair and padding. You can tell a hand stitched suit by laying it on a table, and it will have a 3 dimensional form before you even wear it.
You look like superstar in that suit!!!!Many india moved to Thailand long time ago. They started selling nuts and Roti on street . They collected money and started a small business like selling cloths. Later they become rich and rich.
I asked this on a previous video but you may have missed it. Do you ever get stomach issues eating the street food? It looks good but some of the hygiene standards and refrigeration doesn't look great.
My experience is that all these tailors are just for show. The fabric samples on display are also just for show. In the end, the suits are not made by the store where you order them. The people in the store can advise you and take your measurements. You usually have to come back to adjust the raw cut again. If there is something the employee can't do, a phone call is made and the actual tailor comes from the factory. You might have to wait 20 minutes. In my case, the suit ended up fitting “too well”.
Well done for getting out of that situation. Some times it can be difficult to extract yourself from it. My last time in BKK My tuktuk driver said he gets paid for customers he drives to this specific shop. I really didnt want to buy a suit but didnt mind helping the guy out. So he said as long as i stay inside for about 10 minutes then he gets paid. I did that but then after i browsed for 10 minutes (and avoided the very hard sell from employees) tried to leave and they were very unhappy. I totally agree that you can get amazing custom made suits in Thailand but the tone gets unsavory pretty quick if you dont go along with things.
@@Zerinth absolutely, I encountered another such “setup” going to a jewelry store on a day when sapphires were the cheapest they’ve ever been 😂. I was able to get out of that one as well and now I just use Grab for the most part.
5 years ago I was in Bangkok, everywhere you go you can see the sign $100 USD for a suit in front of a taylor shop. I did a tailoring two pieces suit + a shirt + a tie around the Pratunam are for $100 USD. You tell them what hotel you stay and when you leave Bangkok they will deliver the suit to your hotel before you leave Bangkok they also include your customer number so you can order another suit from US they will send the suit to you in US I did not use this service so I don’t know.
Hi Zane, I would like to ask if we need visa for Taipei airport (TPE). Actually, I am gonna have a transit flight here but I am not sure about the visa policy. Please kindly help me if you know it. Thank you~
@@MrCHAI33 Because it is a transit flight, I just wanna know if I have to need a visa. It takes about 1 hour for this transit time and my trip is in this montn. I can not get a visa soon in this case.
He lied to you, that suit would not be worth 1k usd in America. You could get a nicer suit fabrics made from Italian and British mills and half canvas construction for 500 from suit supply.
Easily one of the hottest guys on YT so of course youre going to look great in a tailored suit. But - I think they made the top a little too tight-fitting to your figure, yes you have a good figure but lets say you hit the gym and add a bit more chest and shoulders, you wont fit into that suit. The trick is to ask them to add 2 cm to the tight-fit measurements. otherwise you better remain as thin as now to fit in it, and most guys dont stay the same
Always get pure wool and not from a place like this. You can't be sure what you're getting. Also, that fit was not good - arms and legs were too tight and there seemed to be a gap between the back of the shirt collar and the jacket collar, which is a big red flag. You get what you pay for!
You have the same video under 2 different titles on TH-cam, so it's clear that it's more like a hidden promotion for the same Bangkok bespoke tailor, with all due respect, that's birder line fraud to your TH-cam viewers ?

I purchased a suit in Bangkok and they delivered it to my hotel. It's good quality, but the reality is that I never use it in my professional life.
Then why you bought it? Bruhhhh 😅
@@tiffanyt9631 Sometimes it is hard to say no...i guess you have to be there in that situation 🤣
I like the suit coverage and the details that goes making it, in a very affordable price. I want to one too. 😎
$3500 in London is fine, but $500 in Bangkok is a rip-off ? I don't get that mentality. Bangkok is world-class.
Maybe you’re conflating. What if $300 in Bangkok is fair? Wouldn’t $500 then be a ripoff?
Nice one! I was almost roped into buying a custom suit on a tuk tuk ride 😂 maybe next time I’ll check it out.

100 USD suit full of shit, material not good.
In Cairo Egypt you would pay about 20/25% with top craftsmanship
