Love the channel!! Just a suggestion, could you do some close up shot when explaining the parts? That will help to visualize it better. For me at least. Cheers!
I got a JBF4 and it's awesome, has everything you need for a kwad and the pads are in perfect placement for each essential component (camera, vtx, rx). Also the manual is great and Joshua is really nice and is an awesome help when you ask questions on live streams and etc. Plus the jb 4 in 1 esc is nice.
I had the JBF4 in my first build but the first time I soldered everything up the FC died on me because i didn't knew what the solder bridges are for. So I ordered a new one but it just didn't flew very great. I had it for 2-3 months now and I replaced it with an Lumenier Lux F7. Now the kwad flies really good. So I guess I had just a bad unit? Because i think JB really put thought into this FC and if it had worked properly I think I could recommend it..
@@notkira_x Also some of them have a problem losing video because of the 9v regulator, mine has that problem. So I just hook up the fpv system directly to the battery pad and the bat lead. I hope it gets fixed on the JBF7. What frame did you use your JBF4 on? Mine is a CL1, and it flies great.
@@enzopedreira4640 I used the TBS Source One. I had trouble with the camera and vtx pad they both in the end, before I replaced the FC, I got really strong video noise. Hooked both up to Vbat but still video noise. So I replaced the FC.
Good overview! For future videos of this kind, a close up shot of the FC in question could make things a bit more clear. Such as when discussing soft-mounted gyros, showing what that actually looks like would've been useful for people who haven't seen it before.
Disagree on one thing about the FC's an F7 has more uarts, doesn't care whether it is inverted or uninverted signal which is important on different radio protocols. At the current pricing it is now way better to choose an F7 flight controller to give you any option you want Now and in the Future. As far as KISS goes it is expensive and the quality control is sub par with no warranty or support (unless you are one of his buddies i.e. Steele) I know because I built 2 KISS Quads which I have flown less than 30 min total and had ESC failures and no response from KISS so Yes Mr.STEELE fly's this (why I bought in the beginning) but Fly Duino supplies him and make sure his equip is Premium not what you as a consumer will get necessarily . Just relating my experiences!
My Kinetic Aerial Vector is KISS V2 enabled. It flies amazing and far different than my BF F4 boards, but is twice the price, or more. You get what you pay for, so try and get the best the 1st time... if you can.
Luminear, Joshua Burwell, anything TBS, and HGRC seems to make quality stuff I was gonna get a midprice stack from HGRC b4 I seen the RUSH FPV matrix stack also rushfpv vtx is very good ESPECIALLY the tank and tank ultimate if u have the spare cash. JUST DON'T GET ANYTHING FROM I-flight, I ordered 4 motors one bell shaft was bent/misformed and that one including a 2nd was out of balance also ordered batt. straps got the wrong one's instead (very cheep) no email about it i informed them on it and got only half refund code and then bought simular ones and no email that they're being delivered but found out that it got sent halfway across the USA.
Hi RotorRiot Crew :D i`m a beginner. What i find confusing is the ESC current on the AIO Boards or Stacks... I build my own kwad last month :D a little 3" Armattan Tadpole with the iFlight SucceX Micro F4 V2.1 12A AIO Stack with 1105 iFlight Xing Nano Motors (6000KV) and a Tattu R Line 3S 450mAh Lipo 75C on her Back, normal RunCam2 Nano, HQ Props 3x3x3... hooked on Betaflight, set the channels and rates and made the first flight. All good and smooth but i have some heavy voltage sag on high trottle punches. which ends sometimes in a total death stall mid air because the voltages drops so low. the lipo packs are sucked dry instant on thoose punches so i scaled the trottle 25% down on betaflight. It helped but it happens sometimes when one cell gets in the 3.9V range... What i miss in this Video is the information on the AIO Board and Stacks, what means the 12A on the ESC side. Are these Currents the max current per ESC or for all ESC`S together? 12A max for all ESC`s or 12A x 4 ESC in the AIO board/stack= 48A max Current? the max current drawn by a punchout is nearly 30A on the OSD.... should i use a bigger lipo pack? 3S 520mAh 75C or 3S 850mAh 75C? but i dont want to toast my board... I watched a lot videos and found nothing great, which answers my question. It`s so much fun too fly my own build kwad but this is a little down side but still so much fun :D sorry for this noob question.... maybe someone can help me. Thanks :D and good flight!
The DALRC F405 AIO flight controller is one of the best IMO. Some top features to note are 2x 9v regulators and lower volt regulators, well thought out pad placement, excellent processor and gyro, apparently can handle up to 8s voltage and will look fantastic in any build.
Hey! Nice video the only thing what I woud like to mention is that micro flightcortolers or Tiny Woop sized flightcontrolers are all-in-one! They got the FC the ESC and the RC also :D
what is a good flight controller to use with my POS FlySky TX? My quad flipped and flew top straight into the ground with KK2.0 board. Almost scrapped the whole thing, I think the motors and RX survived but not sure yet. Board Shot, cracked screen. Battery started on fire when I was unplugging it (run away)! Thanks for all the great info, it really helps and much food for thought.
In the past i used an cc3d But i flashed it to cleanflight/betaflight. Now i use an Naze32 whith Barometer and compass. I never used a better FC so i dont know better things, for my cheap build (5" 3s) its enough.
If you,ve never built or dont intend to, your never going to learn. Give it a go..its easier then you think. Check uavfeatures, $99 quad build. Once youve built one and oniw the basics, youll wonder why you never did it before....thank me later
If you’re not going to show close ups in these videos then maybe consider to atop producing them. They’re not the standard we r used to from Rotor Riot. The last video I watched with the same format for FPV cameras was the same. We never saw the physical differences between each camera as you were taking about them. This video is the same problem. . We know Jeff knows his stuff and this is good information but the beggar isn’t getting it. I’m a seasoned pilot and I still want to see what it is you are talking about. Thanks.
Great video @vort3xfpv - small video tip, put your notes closer to the camera lens; your glance-away to look at your run-through becomes a little obvious and distracting.
I've bought all the chinese cloned flight controllers and had nearly no problems at all. Now I've bought the expensive 16x16 iflight succex f4 mini and the flight controller came with the rx pads missing and iflight isn't giving support, worst experience with a major brand. In the only one case of a wrong sent (or false advertised) flight controller I got my money refunded. Iflight even doesn't reply...tell me why I should ever go major brand instead of clones!?
@@kd9432 that's not good, but you could solder at a bit lower temp. But receiving an already dead flight controller which costs much more in shipping than the flight controller itself...i rather would buy 10 clones, than purchasing from iflight anymore.
I've never bought anything that one would call "good". I run Racerstar motors, Hakrc escs and Matek flight controllers, all from banggood. I have never once lost a piece of kit due to failure that wasn't through my own fault (I lost a whole quad because I'm a crap pilot, and I destroyed a flight controller at the beginning when I was still dialing in my soldering skills). I think that my fun per dollar is as high or higher as someone who flies thousand dollar drones, since I'm not particularly stressed about crashing and destroying a $9 motor.
Why don't you watch half of it and half later when you have time to fit it into your incredibly cramped schedule? Or stop wasting time on leaving unnecessary comments. I'm just saying this because this video is packed with good information that you can't put into a 10 min video just to accommodate you.
It would've been more informative if you referred to each FC as it's name/model rather than "this one".

The Diatone Mamba F405 stacks are the best bang for your buck.
