The only nunchucks I have are old wooden ones from 1980-81. I've been training with them for half a year - and yes I agree that they are dangerous, I have accidentally hit myself a couple times with them already including in the head but less & less as times passes. I got a pair of training nunchucks coming in the mail for the first time ever, but I'm still very much used to my wooden ones
Those old nunchucks sound really cool, but I am sure that the practice ones will help you learn new moves more easily and safely. Keep up the great work!
Yo i may be late to the video, but heres a question: Where do you get the exact foam nunchucks that are shown in the vid because i feel like the ones on amazon that you put in the discription are way different and maybe less quality. If they're technically the same quality and will have the same outcome, than I will buy those from amazon. Thanks for replying
New to this. How many hours a day do you recommend practicing? How long does it take to have a basic proficiency? I just turned 70, am healthy, and am interested in doing this for movement exercise and some shoulder strengthening. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment! I am glad that you are interested in nunchucks. I often have people ask me how much they should practice to get good and how long it will take. I would generally say that in perhaps a few weeks you will be able to grasp some basic moves. However, I do not find this outcome driven mentality to be the right approach when it comes to nunchucks and practice. I find that a person should not force themselves to practice to “get good” . instead I believe that a person should practice when they wish to and not to “get good” but for the enjoyment of the art. Nunchucks are an art form, when you listen to music you are not trying to get to the end of the song, and in this way I spin nunchucks not with the intent of getting better (that will happen on its own) but to enjoy it. So my suggestion ist to practice when you feel driven to, maybe make a realistic practice schedule that suits your interest and schedule, but by all means do not try to force yourself to learn. If you find out what it is that interests you about nunchucks and what it is that you enjoy I believe that you will progress much more quickly than if you are only motivated by the outcome. Thank you for your insightful comment and best of luck with your nunchuck spinning! Please continue to let me know in the comments how well your progressing!

are nunchaku not for self defense? Shouldn't there be like a stronger much sturdier line of self defense weapon like ones? My metal ones broke at the chain and I want something much stronger honestly lol
I know you don’t make videos anymore, but there’s not a lot of resources on where to get nunchucks and if you reviewed nunchucks, we would know which ones to buy and there’s so many options out there, but I don’t wanna buy a set and then can’t do tricks on them.
lemme update this, you cannot legally buy them for the excuse of you getting injured by them kinda like laws regarding the butterfly knife, however you still cannot legally guy them unless you are a Martial Arts practitioner

on the foam and wood core nunchucks, is it all metal hardware? any plastic?
They are all metal, foam, and wood, no plastic. They are a great quality nunchuck to learn with.
@@LinusNunchaku thank you for the quick response!
Thanks a lot Linus!!!!
This seriously helped me!!
Glad I could help!
@banananna2542 Just normal duck tape. Electrical tape works fine too. Anything that is pretty durable.
Bro Explain Brucelee version Nunchakku Plz.
Ok I will
How long should I get the chain to be?
That depends on personal preference, but if you are starting out I would recommend around 15 cm.

Thank you! Great to have you here, welcome to the community
when you practice do u get cuts or bruises
For legal reasons: no.
@@LinusNunchaku thank you
wait but what do you mean legal reasons
If TH-cam sees nunchucks as being too dangerous, my videos could lose monetization.

Would you recommend wood or metal for experts?
I personally prefer the feel and weight of wood, and they are more of a classic style.
Are nunchuckus illegal?? I own 4 of them (2 wood, 2 foam).
It depends on where you live.
