FYI if you use the iPod Software that's on the original disc you can restore it to the original firmware release. Learnt that when I restored my iPod 4th gen Click Wheel and it jumped down to the firmware it shipped with.
My girlfriend loves the Black Friday Videos. We binged watched all of them last weekend. And im old af(33). I had that Ipod. And honestly it was extremely well made. Everything is cheaper and shittier made now.
Man that’s so rare to have I remember my first phone was the iPod touch 4th gen man I loved the slippery metal feeling and the shiny chrome color I was so addicted to it. but sadly I have butterfingers and dropped it and landed on the concrete floor. the next day I knew my dad pissed fixed the phone and for the punishment of breaking it he sold it. my dad was mad cause he wasted money just for 2 months later to break it so had to wait a while and got the iPhone 4 a month after the 4s was released

IIRC SHSH didn’t exist back then and there was no restrictions to downgrade the software, same is true with the iPhone (2G), iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 1st
When you said there would be a lock when you flipped to hold switch why on the video when you destroyed that one it did not have a lock on the screen and the buttons did not work
