- The Russian Army will soon unleash the Manul Infantry Fighting Vehicle on the Ukraine battlefield. Russia's defence ministry and Rostec-owned defense holding firm, High Precision Systems, are giving finishing touches to the final design of the Manul (Pallas' Cat) IFV. It will include a turbocharged, 816-horsepower UTD-32T engine and is being touted as a heavy modernization of the BMP-3, the latest IFV in Russian arsenal. Watch for more details.

For example defense is not peace.
It's not good enough , what is needed at MINIMUM is armor to stop 14.5mm AP and a active protection system , a hybrid propulsion system that allows the IR signature to be turned off for a few hours , and good reverse speed !
If it is anything like the bmp3 which it is based on then it should have all around 14.5mm protection and 20mm protection at the front and good reverse speed.
@@Masterafro999 14.5mm has better penetration than 20mm , 20 is available with a exploding bullet but I don't think it helps penetration , The Russians were using 14.5 to kill tanks in WW2 , I would be amazed if a BMP3 could stop 14.5mm all around.

If I was a defense contractor wanting a contract to up gun a western vehicle I would say the Russian one had beater armor than it really had , or if I was a Russian selling that vehicle I would do the same . The Ukraine conflict has exposed a lot of these lies , with the best armor plate you need at last 30m to stop a 14.5mm , and the BMP's are not using the best since it is not weldable , so it probably needs 40m or so . not just think with your own skeptical brain could the BMP even move with 40mm of steel ? I have tried to design a vehicle to stop a 50BMG and that is really hard .

The US military budget is around $800 billion a year......yet only $150 billion is made available for new procurements.....the bulk of the Military budget goes on servicing and maintaining that Military.....right down to ordering toilet rolls for the hundreds of overseas Military bases.
Think how much the yearly maintenance costs for the U.S Air-Force jets or say Aircraft Carrier battle fleets are?.
Secondly the U.S Military Corporations really do rip off the U.S Dept of Defence.
The US Defence has to spend $200 million on ONE 5th Gen F-22 Raptor jet fighter......for that kind of money the Russians can produce three 5th Gen SU-57 Jet fighters.....whilst the Chinese would be able to produce four 5th Gen J-20 Jet fighters.
US waste $12-14 billion on a single Aircraft carrier.....meanwhile with that kind of money the Russians were able to develop the best Missile and Rocket systems in the world.
In nearly every missile category the Russians are superior in.e.g Anti-Ship (Oniks, Yakhonts & Sunburn), Hypersonic missiles (Kinzhal & Zircon), Air-Defence missile systems (S-300, S-350, S-400, S-500, TOR, Pansir-M1, Buk M3), high speed supercavitating torpedoes.(VA-111 Shkval)
With regards to main battle tanks, i would say Russia's upgraded T-90M & T-90MS and the T-14 Armata are superior to say the U.S latest version of Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 (formerly M1A2C) and the German Leopard 2A7+
Russian artillery weaponry are second to none as they have a variety of different artillery systems to perform different tasks.
Here are some below, these MLRS system of BM-21s Grads have an effective range of 20-45kms (depending on the rockets used).
Russia also has access to a large number of other artillery systems:
9A52-4 “Tornado” MLRS: up to 90km range
BM-30 “Smerch” MLRS: 70 to 90km range
2S7 “Pion” 203mm heavy artillery: 37,5 to 55km range
TOS-1 220mm MLRS and thermobaric weapon: 0.5 to 6km range
2S19 Msta 152.4mm howitzer: 45 to 62km range
2S35 “Koalitsiya-SV” 152.4 or 155mm artillery: 40 to 80km range.
When asked in a testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, U.S. Army Chief of staff, General Mark Miley said: “We don’t like it, we don’t want it, but yes, technically, we are outranged, outgunned on the ground.”
The USA and NATO military doctrine has emphasized the "Air-force" superiority instead of ground artillery. In recent years where they fought insurgents or terrorists in Afghanistan and the Middle East, air strikes would accomplish many of the coalition goals. These were often precise, heavily dependent on intelligence, carried out against an enemy without air-defence systems and managed to minimize collateral damage.
Having large aircraft carriers and surface fleets are old WW2 military doctrines.
Against a nation that has high performing anti-ship missiles and long range hypersonic or EMP ones .....these fleets will become null and void....they're only good against unprotected 3rd world coastal countries.
With improved performances and ranges of air-defence systems.....even future use of manned Jet aircraft will be questionable.
Russia has the most nuclear warheads both strategical and tactical (for the battlefield)....they are also has by far more modern ones than anything the U.S possesses , for example Russia also has hypersonic missiles in service...whilst to date nearly all tests by U.S to develop one has failed.
You might have missed Obama's speech and later on Trump's speech during his tenure....where they both state that the U.S has to spend around $1 trillion over next 2 or so decades to modernize all of their Nuclear missile stockpile.
The USA are seriously lagging behind Russia at the moment.
