You actually did inspire me to mod my MK2 Deluxe. I decided to go with genuine Happ buttons and I just got a light kit to light up the faux coin doors. But thanks for the inspiration

There is a retro arcade in a one level mall a few miles from me, the mall has some vacancies but it's still open with some businesses like a hot dog place that has several locations across my area, a pizza place, a jewelry store, a T-Mobile store, a store that sells rocks and stuff, some antique stores, a sneaker store, and a few other businesses. The arcade has 80's and 90's games from Ms. Pac-Man to House of the Dead. Well, I'm making my own House of the Dead with big buck parts and possibly using a Wii. I got a new 19" monitor from arcademodup with a custom bezel that says Arcade1up on the top and HOTD2 instructions on the bottom. I wanted the extra 2 inches for a light gun cab. I have a few other 1ups from TMNT in Time to The Simpsons, T2, OutRun which I'm modding to play more games, KI Pro which I didn't build yet, MKII deluxe which I didn't build yet, Big Blue I got dirt cheap on ebay under $200 I just built the riser so far. I also have a Pac-Man countercade, an SFII partycade still in plastic, and New Wave Toys Dragon's Lair, SFII, Qbert, MyArcade SFII, Sega Astro City Mini.
Well done. Very nice. MKII is my personal favorite Midway cab. If I didn't already have my slightly modded MKII Legacy I would have purchased this one. By far the nicest MK cab out of the first 4 og cabs from the 90's.
just LAST NIGHT I sold my OG MKII A1UP. I felt like crying, but the Deluxe crushes it completely. Like I said IMO The MKII cab is the best looking arcade cab ever!
Got a tutorial? I have an XArcade Coin Door on an older 1AUP however I purchased an Deluxe Cab. Did you have to cut and modify the front panel with the faux coin door?
you have changed the sticks ... is there enough place under for the sticks or you had to grove them like the other mk cabs because the real arcade sticks wont fit with all the electronics ... thanks
That was a cool mod you did with the coin door and actually wiring it up to the encoder board but it's a shame a quarter just starts the game instead of going to the title screen and waiting for you to push start like the arcade version.

I miss arcades. They were so awesome. Even just seeing an Mk3 arcade machine at the movie theater was mind blowing to me as a kid.

Fantastic cabinet. UMK3 was and still is my Favorite arcade cabinet however, this is a very close 2nd. Great job modding this Gem.

That coin door is sweet. I know they are pricey which is why 1up doesnt included them but man that was part of the experience back in the day

Yes. It's a one way ticket so take your time and cut right. The board is thicker than it looks.

its an expensive upgrade relative to the 1up. The coin door cost $100
The "fins" are backwards though. Installing a thin"box" between the side panels would be the right way to do it.

What USB speakers are you using? Link? Powered off the PCB USB?
You can power them off the PCB but I opted to power them separately. No biggie. They're "Amazon Basics" USB speakers. They are thunderous bass wise

You can do anything you want to them.
I don't think the Midway/MK cabinets are softmoddable, only The Simpsons, Turtles in Time, some SFII cabs, and now OutRun and T2 can be softmodded.
