    Effective November 1, 2020 Detective Joseph Andricola will retire from the Gloucester Township Police Department after 25 years and 3 months of honorable service.
    Det. Andricola began his career at Gloucester Township Police Department as a Police Officer August 14, 1995. He graduated from the Camden County Police Academy Recruit Class #23 on December 1, 1995. In 1997 was assigned as a SIP - Society Improvement Program Officer for children. He was assigned as a Field Training Officer in 1999, and in 2000 he became a Firearms Instructor.
    April 6, 1999 Det. Andricola became a member of the Special Response Team until May 2015. His duties on the Special Response Team included being an operator, a Designated Marksman/Observer, and armorer until 2015. In 2004 he was appointed as the Departmental Range Master, Armorer, and Supervising Firearms Instructor, where he was responsible for all weapon maintenance, repair, and purchase recommendations.
    On February 16, 2011 he was assigned to the Professional Standards Bureau, Training Unit, and was the first full time dedicated training officer in the Department. He was an Emergency Medical Technician and a Departmental CPR Instructor, and was assigned as a Camden County College Police Academy Instructor, and a Camden County Police Range Master. On February 5, 2017 he was assigned as a Detective in the Professional Standards Bureau, Training Unit.
    Det. Andricola has many thank you letters, letters of recognition, and Commendations. He is one of the highest decorated officers in the history of the Gloucester Township Police Department. His commendations include: Valor Commendation, Bravery Commendation, Heroism Commendation, 5 Distinguished Unit Citations, 3 Commendatory Service Citations, and 9 Outstanding Police Work Letters. He has also been nominated for Officer of the Year in 2010, 2013 and 2017. He also negotiated most of the labor contracts over the last 20 years. Det. Andricola served as a volunteer firefighter in the Chews Landing Fire Department beginning in 1991 to 2000.
