Great to hear that a manufacturer listens to their customers and are prepared to amend the design. Look forward to the HOW version. Well done Dennis, love the channel.
Great to hear Dennis. You could supply additional center sliders with drill bushings. I would definitely put 4 in there. So I can drill 4 holes at once. The ruler then becomes stiffer and more solid.
How about a pre-order facility, Dennis? I'm confident that with your input this will be a near-perfect product so I'd happily order one now. (And hopefully it'll still ship in March - it's my birthday in April! 🥳)
Congratulations and good fortune, in your collaboration with Hongdui. Not everyone can achieve this and not every company will offer it. This shows they have great respect, for your opinion and so do we, your viewers. 😁✌🖖
Considering how much traffic and money you’ve created for those shysters I’m happy to hear you’re finally openly taking a cut! Cool that a series “can you trust china tools” has turned in to “yes you sure can trust these china tools I’m even involved in the design and profit of them”
Thank you for providing this sincere review. Unfortunately, it arrives two months too late for me. I concur with your observations, and I'd like to add that loosening the scriber pin is necessary to prevent rocking. Additionally, I'm unable of separating my T, even after removing all the screws. Calibration to achieve perfect squareness is challenging for me, as mine isn't entirely parallel. Moreover, the glued-on cap detached after only 36 hours.
Once you refine the circle-drawing center pin particulars, a blank router plate would be a valuable accessory to use this as a circle cutting jig...this tool could easily become the "HOW-MFT-square" with a plethora of additional accessories! That said, increasing length to 800 or 1,000mm capacity would be valuable, so we could use it to layout/route circular dining table tops.
Great review, thank you Dennis. This T-Sq is in my Banggood saves, pending consideration. In conclusion, £124 to draw circles 😂. Let's see what the March version brings. 👍🏼
Hi Dennis, I follow your videos on a regular basis and enjoy your reviews very much. It's great news that there will be a T-Square out of your collaboration with Hongdui! I value their products in my workshop and many of those, I bought based on your particular review. Thank you so much and keep producing great videos! Looking forward seeing the introduction of your new co-developed T-Square. Best regards from Germany!
Thanks Dennis it is exciting! I saw this on your workbench in a previous video and have been waiting for its review. Looking forward to the updated version
Incra rulers are great for circles too. Tap a tiny dent in the center. Put a pencil through the 1 cm hole and into the dent. Put another pencil in the 21 cm hole, if you want a 20 cm circle.
HongDui is proof that when Chinese engineers spend time innovating instead of trying to create the cheapest knock-off, they can bring amazing things to market. I recently purchased the miter gauge based on Dennis' review and I am nothing less than impressed.
Dennis, I just made my third purchase based on your recommendations, I am impressed by what I have received so far. The tools are not cheap, but are the equal of any US or European made tool. By the way, your English is excellent!
Glad to hear how well they responded to your suggestions. You're spot on about the dual-system measurements. I thought it would be nice to have an imperial/metric tape measure at home, but find myself slightly irritated every time I want to take a metric measurement on the imperial side.
Pretty good that ot csn be adjusted for square. I have a fixed one and it definitely isnt square. Its fine for using as a rule but definitely not for marking out a square line.
Please ask them to also make an imperial / inches version! ...also with imperial drill guides. I'd rather buy two complete t-squares than have metric and imperial on the same square.
Thanks for the really good assessment of this tool and taking the time and trouble to contact the manufacturer. Hopefully the HOW version will be worthy of investment consideration. Well done.
Colored MDF. Valchromat is one brand name. Getting technical, it has a slightly different composition (called HLS, the "H" stands for Hydrophobic) than traditional MDF which makes it far more durable, especially with regard to humidity. *In the U.S. it can be quite difficult to find a supplier that is not "To the trade" only. As such, there may be higher minimum order quantities (I.e. MOQ of 10 sheets per color, thickness, etc.) which sadly put it out of reach for hobbyists.
Dennis, this is fantastic news. I wish nothing but the best for you in this endeavor. With your guidance this will become the best. If I could put my two cents in. For the boring what do you think of including multiples of same size so drilling for adjustable shelves can be done in cabinets
I have another problem with this ruler, that its flexing on the end. So when i am folowing the ruler with my pencil, the tip always move due to the force.
I understand what you mean. It has a bit more flex as a solid ruler. I made some test myself to see if it would be relevant. But in my tests it didn’t bend when I drew a line, but I can understand it will be possible
This looks like a T-Square designed by Thor himself, very nice. I had seen another review of this and they did not pick up on the points you raised, so 10 out of 10 for that. The hole sizes for the pencil are important as with the longest lines aligning. Hopefully they can also address the price issue as for me as a hobby woodworker it is out of budget. What would be great is if the head of the Square could slot onto a track from a track square to allow more options when working on large material sizes, and not just the edge of the material. The hole drilling guide option is great and is something I will need on one of my future projects, but already having a T-Square I cannot justify getting this for just one task. Look forward to the full review once the upgraded version is complete.
First of all, I want to thank you for the time and effort you put into making your videos; I know it's no small task. However, I am disappointed that you are now charging nearly €50 for access to the plans on your website, especially since they used to be free. Many viewers like me support your videos and you already generate revenue through advertisements on TH-cam. I've noticed that your channel is becoming increasingly commercial, with income from both affiliate links and the sale of your plans. I understand that quality content has value and that creators deserve fair compensation, but I hope you can find ways to keep your content accessible to everyone, perhaps by offering a differentiated pricing model or special deals for loyal followers. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you take this feedback to heart.
Not so much when supporting both compromises the product, and most of their customers have no use for the imperial measures. Including both units on a single product is only really common in the UK market - and it is always irritating to use when the scale you want is on the wrong side. It is usually better to make dedicated SKUs, as the vast majority of customers only use one scale.
Just to be clear, I am born and raised in a metric country. Imperial makes no sense to me... but i feel that saying 1 or 2 inches is faster and saying 2.5 or 5 cms....
Great to hear that a manufacturer listens to their customers and are prepared to amend the design. Look forward to the HOW version. Well done Dennis, love the channel.
That is outstanding. I have very rarely heard of a company stopping production to retool a product.l am excited to see what happens.

I agree! Please make accessories available to outfit this T-square per individual use-case needs.
That is awesome Dennis!! Really great to see a company like Hongdui appreciate your product comment on the level it deserves!! Well done!! 👏💪
Well done on your great suggestions for making Hongdui products even better,
Awesome news! Looking forward to seeing the HOW-01 Metric T-Square from HongDui!
What a great outcome! Well done! Cheers from Sydney.
Amazing news and fully deserved. Good luck!

What an amazing news, testament of your expert contribution to improve this craft, well done Denis 👍
Awesome denis would be awesome to see you create an ongoing partnership with hongdui so we can see some brilliant new tools come onto the market

It had better be good Dennis as I have pre-ordered one thanks to you 😃
That's fantastic Dennis, a manufacturer who takes on board constructive criticism, to then release the improved version under your brand, wow! 👏👏

excellent review Dennis! that really is a gorgeous piece with a lot of functionality. looking forward to seeing the HOW version...

Kudos on the T-Square project
Oh no! You mentioned basically everything negative about the t-square I came across as well. So, I just bought too early? :(
Well done you
Really excited about the project
I will buy this thanks
With metric on BOTH sides, it would be my tool.
Can you rate this: Fonson Aluminum Alloy Track Saw Square Guide Rail Square Woodworking 90 Degree Right Angle Guide Plate Square Cutting Everytime for Makita / Festool?
Great video. What's the black material of the bench top? Is it wood or a composite?

Hello. there is a Chinese analogue of Incra HingeCrafter?
Do you guys have 0.7mm pencils there?

can't wait for the new t square. Keep one for me :D
Congratulations on reaching the half century!
😊😊
Looks great. I'll have to consider whether it's worth the price for me. Not sure I'm at this level...yet.
Sadly I've already bought this product, and I have exact same problem with pencil hole. 😢
Unfortunately I also bought it without waiting for Dennis' review :(
At least my version has the metric scale on both sides...
I am looking forward to buy a tool that is designed by you.
Can these be painted a different color like blue? I’m tired of everything red! Thanks😢
Working on it👍
they should hire you to review they products before goes to the market

Brilliant that’s all ai can say
Not metric both edges ... no need to go further.
Considering the types of governments, I would prefer to buy Taiwan tools.
unfortunatly, US still uses imperial system, and in a manufactory point of view, it is better to use bothe scales than just one...
Not so much when supporting both compromises the product, and most of their customers have no use for the imperial measures.

So glad I didn't buy that t-square. Too g'dang expensive.
Spot on! Precision, accuracy , repeatability and reliability all need to marry up with such a tool. Cannot wait to see the March release.
