    Just saw an ad for this thing and am interested. I tend to sleep during day because of night shift and, on top of that, I usually need to listen to a podcast or historical documentary or a physics lecture or something otherwise my mind starts to wonder and I get intrusive thoughts that keep me up.
    Up till now, I've mostly just taken a massive amount of benadryl every day to force me to sleep. Hopefully, this could work better than that.

      I don’t work night shifts, but otherwise you have very similar sleep needs to myself and it’s worked great for me for those needs. I use this thing every night and it’s been fantastic

      I actually have the original manta sleep mask and i can tell its light years better than every other sleep mask i tried. The eye cups are amazing, cause I used to always get annoyed with my eye lashes rubbing the wrong way on regular sleep masks. I've ordered this sound mask because I am a side sleeper, and find the eye cups a little pressuring, so hoping this helps. I also love a good ambient sound too, i might do rain, or beach waves,.

      I have the exact same situation. I work long shifts and nights in the ER - intense work and a lot of impressions to deal with on the go - I find it easier to sleep by having a low sound of a documentary about a complex subject in the background. Somehow its comfort I guess. I know I prob will meet some issue when Im older, but I guees new gadgets will be invented and sleep will be revolutionized. The worst and unhealthy thing is to stay awake and have thoughts for hours. Some people say nighttime is for reflection about the day before sleep. I disagree - nighttime should be an escape, relaxing and charging for the next battle.

      @@BrentMorris I am interested in these to help prevent me being woken by cats in the house. How good are they at reducing the sounds around you whilst at a volume that wouldn't disturb sleep, would you say?

    • @BrentMorris
      @BrentMorris  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ooo that’s a tough question, since everyone’s tolerance for noise is so different, but if you put on something that usually helps you sleep then they do a decent job. They aren’t noise canceling in any way, but the speakers are so soft they really conform to the ears. I use them as more of a way to have my brain focus on the sounds instead of a billion thoughts, so I don’t know how well they’d do as a sound reducer, but hopefully this info helps a little

    They probably cheaped out on the bluetooth receiver module. When you are using it, can you hear other sounds from the room as well? Like a not so loud phone alarm? Or perhaps outside noise?

    • @BrentMorris
      @BrentMorris  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you’re correct. That being said I’ve also had worse Bluetooth experiences, so it’s not a deal breaker. I still use this thing every night.
      You can hear some other sounds. Like I can hear my phone alarm every morning, but farther away sounds get drowned out.

  • @cherrytree7481
    @cherrytree7481 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Are the speakers in these good for blocking out noise? My main issue is I need absolute silence (from outside I mean, I can listen to music) to sleep so I wonder if these would help with that?

    • @BrentMorris
      @BrentMorris  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They’re not really designed for blocking out noise, but by the nature of them being right at your ear they do a decent job of quieting the outside world. But I don’t know how silent you need things since everyone’s sleep needs are so specific to them.

    How is this for front sleepers? What if you don't use a pillow when you're on your front (I move positions a lot) because that would kink your neck back? Would htis be feasible or would the big eye cups be uncomfortable?

    • @BrentMorris
      @BrentMorris  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it would be feasible, but I can’t say for sure since someone’s comfort is incredibly subjective. It’s very soft and does compress, but at the end of the day I can’t say what would be comfortable for you specifically

      As a side sleeper myself I can say it’s been excellent. The really great thing for side sleep is being able to adjust the speaker position, so you can make it very comfortable for you. This has honestly been so good for me since I got the face mask.

    • @BrentMorris
      @BrentMorris  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s there but soft. That’s kind of the nature of slim speakers like that though. There’s not enough space to create punchy bass.

    • @BrentMorris
      @BrentMorris  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of that will depend on your pillow honestly, but the eye cups are designed on these with a foam outer ring and then a fairly deep cup inside
