Presently going thru this... it hurts really and the fact that the kid we ask you my daddy have go to church...
But what is more painful is when you hear later another story that was not it, how they will lie up against you... Well God dey

You can day that again. It takes a lot to make the person whole, that is, if the person is willing to cooperate with God. Otherwise ba, the wound will putrefy.

    How to move on:
    1. Be healed and it takes a while
    2. Find out what went wrong. What mistake did you do? What lessons did you learn?
    3. When you meet someone, be open, transparent, full disclosure with them.
Investigate each other, ask the right/relevant questions. Help each other heal from past hurts
    4. Don't compare your past with your present. Know each other together because everyone you marry came with their own baggage. So enter by faith.
    5. Commit to make it work
    6. Pray to marry the right person
    Marrying a divorcee:
    1. See things from their own lens
    2. Recognize they have a baggage. Are you ready for all the stigma and all?
    3. Have mature mentors
    4. Use the wisdom of God to strengthen others
How can we reduce level of divorce:
    1. Premarital counseling. Churches should have in house facilities. Help your parishioners to prepare for marriage. You can't manufacture the weapons of war on the battle field.
Have post marriage training for couples (Marriage Enrichment program)
    2. Ensure genuine salvation, discipleship st church level because many in church are not transformed

Pst Kingsley is Igbo,Pst Olumide is Yoruba but they all sat down together in unity and in love because of one purpose, vision and agenda to foster unity love, empathy to humanity and mankind. For the purpose of their coming together no one said your Igbo your Yoruba and 'im sure at that point in time none of them even remembered where they came from, what they had in mind was the sense of urgency to relate with themselves and with others..Bible says how wonderful it is for brethren to dwell amongst one another.Nigeria is great and has great people. Each and every tribe is beautiful and our unity in diversity is Power but until we can come to the point of understanding that we may not become a formidable force as we ought to.Everyone on this platform is Great, remember that.I'm from the North and i love both of them so much they have been a great blessing to me.Great video.Thank you very much.

Healing is when you touch a wounded part and it no longer hurt. Healing from a failed marriage or relationship is when you remember them but laugh in response to the thoughts and memories

    • @jackieomugah
      @jackieomugah 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

It's true. I was in a relationship that failed and it took me about 5 years to heal from it. The journey wasn't easy but God, family and friends walked with me every step of the way. These days, I laugh at the memories...But the most important thing is for one to know where they went wrong because no one is perfect, and learn from it...even though the other person in the relationship was the one who may have caused the relationship to flop.

    • @obeabayomi5901
      @obeabayomi5901 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's a whole lot of time...
Just that we need prayer and scriptural evidence of the right partner before we allow other games like dating, questions, and introduction to set it. If we can be serious in prayer and the word ministry choosing right at once won't be a problem. Emotion and trend is the challenges relationship and marriage have nowadays.

    2. Do your due diligence (do not allow emotions to overrule your sense of discussion),
    3. Never compare your past with your present
    4. Face the reality that your spouse comes with a baggage (every spouse has a past, present, and future)
    5. Learn and be committed to make it work.

I would love to hear this woman’s version. I give it to Dr Olamide, at the point where he talked about pregnancy, he mentioned perspective…. That from her perspective, his insistence on her going to church while pregnant could have been seen as abuse. That’s a stretch, but could there be other issues he didn’t handle well. That moment made me trust him more.
Ppl demonize past partners, many times not intentionally, we protect ourselves naturally. When ppl talk about past relationships, u can almost see horns on the heads of their partners.
Marry a kind person. God forbid, if things go bad, a kind ex would be considerate, no matter what.

Thank you for sharing your marriage journey. After listening to this. I have few points to share. Churches need to have a marriage counselling unit for the married ones. Problems should be discussed in marriage not swept under the carpet. Prayers sessions are good but emotional damage needs to be dealt with continuous counselling sessions until healing takes place. Most Christians marriages are going through tough times and couples are enduring the marriage instead of enjoying it. They are only patching things because of what people will say. Divorce is a very tough decision in marriage and one will live with the scares for life. We need to feed our marriages with the correct ingredients in order to get the expected meal served to us. I pray God gives us the wisdom, knowledge and kindness to feed into our marriages.

The spirit of God will touch the hearts of your children and they will return to you. It's not about church but people pretending to be a Christian. MFM has brought joy to many homes. No church is without them. God will lead us and we will follow Him.

@@danielilori3388 i agree all churches have them, but i can only talk about my experience with MFM, and mine is like pastor olumide's my children live with my ex abroad, so it makes it doubly difficult. They are 28,24 and 19. saw them last in 2014. I dont have any other children and not remarried as well. so i get totally what pastor olumide is saying.God help us all and i wish them all blessing and peace. Even if i meet them not sef, where do you start from ? what do you say? the damage has been done. Also, when people go through a divorce, we get very selfish and unfortunately, its the children that suffer. Most times ,the mother uses them as tools and weaponise them against their father. Break down of a marriage is NEVER one way, both parties have a part to play in the breakdown, in my opinion. Anyway, i wish us all well. alot of men are suffering this matter and perhaps the church should be more practically in its teachings.

Thank you pastors, thank Dr. For pouring out yourself, you laid it bare. Simply put, he helped everyone who cares to make informed decision, like this is what you’re getting into, in btw I can feel his pains, imagine not seeing your own children for 17 years , when it’s not like you murdered their mother. May the Lord touch their minds and heart to do what is right. I recommend this video to couples in troubled marriages. God bless our PK too

In other for divorce to reduce, before anyone gets into marriage, 1st thing is to understand yourself, know what you like and don't like. Love yourself, 2nd thing is, marry yourself. Don't marry opposite of yourself.

Genuine Salvation, genuine discipiling, NOT just new birth, there must also be growth in knowledge that must lead to maturity.

My mum turned my heart against my dad the day i realised she rather was my enemy was when she stood vehemently against me getting married. I quickly called my dad, he wept bitterly and welcomed me without judging me. Today, i am a single parent cos my mum refused to see me married. My daughter is my joy. I encourage her to have a relationship with her dad, although he abandoned us and has refused to support us. Thankfully, i am in the financial sector and doing very well. Take heart pastor. Ur kids will return to you.

I shared these with my husband, and he was happy to hear from Dr Olumide, and he’s known him back from the days as a sound teacher.
I pray that the time of refreshing will come soon, and his children will stumble on these videos and Christ will touch their hearts to reconnect with their father.

God gave wisdom of Therapy, guidance and counseling for our mental sanity.
I love how he said “know what you did that caused the issue,” Thinking you are self righteous and cannot make mistake is wrong.
And also saying we should read books on this pregnancy, this is what many men don’t do. May God keep granting us wisdom.
Fun facts : read a chapter of proverbs daily.❤
